You said it perfectly 22:00-22:40 that's the exact reason I've grown so tired in the last few years. My long term girlfriend is a filipina but she lived in the states for 22 years, and has basically become the typical American woman. I pay the bills, get her and the kids everywhere they need to go, cook the majority of the meals, do all the outside chores, and I get nothing in return. I just want to feel respected and appreciated nothing crazy. Fighting everyday to do what's right for the kids but damn I'm ready to quit. At least I convinced her to move back to the Philippines so if I do need to get out I can just move to a different island.

Just a quick note my friend. I brought my filipina wife to the US and did the citizenship thing and all. 14 years later I'm needing to get away from my job. 35 years of paint and body dust was literally killin me. I sold everything and tried to retire in the Philippines. I loved it and she hated it. It ended up splitting us up. Be careful my friend. 🫡

US expat living in the suburbs of cebu city with my Filipina wife. We hired 2 native painters to repaint the interior of our house. While I was outside, my wife overheard them referring to me as a "Dirty Joe". After they were gone, she explained that the term means a foreigner that moves here and gets a pinay wife/ gf. I laughed it off, but she was really angry for a day or two. Now I know why she refused to let me tip them. Not every Filipino likes foreigners living here, most are very good at hiding it. Life goes on. Great video. My wife saved me from myself. I love living here.

@@jbiz979 lmfao sure if you stay in BGC boundaries. Philippines as a whole has extreme amount of problems. Hence why many Filipinos need to leave to work as OFWs. I grew up with many of them in my country I know well. The country as a whole has no support system, extreme overpopulation hence many want to escape for a better life. So I have extreme chuckles when I hear (usually mostly from the older folks) who are doing the opposite. Endless laughs

New perspectives on life: For me it was approx 1990 and I went to Cancun Mexico. During the vacation, I took a trip to Chichen Itza. On the way back, the bus driver asked if we would like to see an average person life of a person in Mexico, so we stopped at a house. It was a home like you might see in Philippines in the province, local wood, palm tree roof, one room with a fire in the corner and three stones holding up the pot of food for the day. One light in the home and a dirt floor. There was not much there and that changed the things that i needed in my house. When we got back, we asked if the area kids should see that life and question whether they need that Nintendo, or your life would be over. View of life is changed, and Mae's grandmothers house was similar to what I saw on the house on the road to Chichen Itza, only better off.

A nice interview. I live in MD in the DMV area too. Moving overseas is a great option for American men from all over the world. It’s generally easier and cheaper. I agree with both these guys. I travel a lot and know what they’re talking about. I plan to move overseas someday. However, most men don’t want to move somewhere and do the interracial thing either. Other reasons for not moving could be finances, family back home and a change of culture. Everybody has to decide for themself what they want.

I was fascinated and intrigued to view and hear the entire interview with El Quapo. It's not often that I or possibly many come across a person with a educated, mature, broad minded perspective on current world culture and current movements. I'm of the mindset of coming over for myself and the benefits that the philippines has to offer. Women are the last thing on my mind, but i do have a girlfriend who is a liason to the country. You need someone to guide you and break through the barriers, whether it be language or cultural that you may encounter. It's a major leap of faith to come halfway around the planet just to survive, but sometimes you have to do what you must do. I live in the donut hole, and it makes perfect sense for me to move overseas. I see people who retired several years ahead of me living like trolls and hermits only coming out to get food and medicine, and then they disappear back into their cave. I see the writing on the wall, and I'm getting out before it's too late.

I would say that if you are fleeing the US to find a Filipina wife, you should get yourself in order first (money, health, mental wellbeing, etc.). Leave your baggage at home and be the best partner you can be in your new relationship.

I enjoyed and concur with so much of the content in the conversation. These concepts, ideas and conservative general high energy moral ideologies unfortunately can meet with the hard realities of life when (We) the Philippine Expats look in reflection at what we want things to be, but realize that the real source of our inspiration lies in the day to day interactions and relationships we choose to build in the waning days of our lives that the Lord decides to give us. We keep the hope and inspiration but look a bit more realistically at the application of all these Ideals!
