Hey guys, in this video I give my thoughts on the popular fitness influencer Sam Sulek whos been getting a lot of attention on the internet. The video that seems to being talked about the most is Sam Suleks Bulking diet. I have not watched a lot of others reviews but it seems that they are concerned with is diet, training, and overall health. This is my honest take where I go about my first impressions and then taking time to think about it more. I talked about this with Dave Tate on the EliteFTS table talk podcast. I'm interested in hearing your opinions and having an open discussion about it. Enjoy!

I think the issue is more about the “special vitamins” he clearly is taking and the harm it could potentially do to his health. Many young guys are using this stuff at a young age and potentially lining themselves up to having a fatal heart attack in your early 30’s. All to become famous on social media. Supposed to be a fitness community but each month and year that passes there is always someone well known in the community dying at a young age.

I’ve never seen one of his videos, but love your take here. I think it goes hand in hand with what Dave says about having to try different things to learn. Guidance helps and we can learn from others but the way we train changes because we learn but also because we need to adapt as we get stronger and as we age. The story and the learning process is all part of it and honestly most people are probably just jealous of someone with a physique like his.

I have said many times and in many places but of all my friends who were jacked in their 20s, 30s, 40s, here are the following stats: 1 dead heart attack age 54 1 dead glioblastoma brain age 54 1 massive heart attack three stents age 51 1 dead multiple kidney failure suicide age 53 1 dead massive organ failure age 50 These were all personal friends of mine. I understand it's a choice that you make but I honestly think that these men would have wanted to live a longer life. They got into to the use of these drugs and got hooked way too long and on way too much. These were not people I heard of or read about they were people I knew and this is why I never did steroids. Everything but the drug use is probably exactly how your sons should be honestly. Sam is nice, well spoken, and doesn't misguide anyone. He doesn't owe it to any of us to tell us what he's taking. Kids are far more influenced by negative things on the internet and TV than Sam Sulek (ie Tren Twins). The danger is that this guy (who looks to be on gear) is hiding that big fact and so your high school athletes want to know how he got big and what those athletes need is different training, nutrition, and sport-specific work than what this guy does/needs. Natural athletes (let alone in high school) can't use him as an example of how to get better because he's operating in a completely different plane from them without acknowledging that. As a coach you should say that up front to them so they can ground themselves and set expectations based on their goals.

You clearly haven't watched his videos. He isn't obligated to tell you his cycle which in all honesty is probably lower than you think it is. His cystic acne existed before he got big, and he's seeking help with it. I've been watching his stuff for a month and he's a genuine good dude and does say, this is what works for him and that we all should find what works for ourselves. He encourages everyone to do cardio everyday etc. ALSO something that isn't being talked about enough is that Sam was a good gymnast and high level diver. It's not like he woke up, took some test, and hopped in the weight room. He's been a high functioning athlete for years.

I think there needs to be more openness about gear, the genetic elite can use gear, discipline, and determination (because it's important to note the genetic elites are still putting in *_A LOT_* of work) to become physical phenoms, if more kids understood that a fair portion of the population can blast gear until it's coming out of their eyes and will never be able to achieve a portion of that physique would get more young people to question whether it's worth it or to get some genetic screening done to see if they would be an elite responder and what complicating factors could be brought about by usage.

After trying all kinds of diets, I’ve settled on intuituvely eating when I’m hungry, until I’m full. Growing and being around 20% is ideal pour mou, but for those on PEDs, I guess it’s a different game. Sam is young and I’m sure he feels invincible right now… he’ll learn. I see him a lot on tiktok and he's really entertaining to watch, super chill and nice. I just wish he would be upfront about the amount of gear he's on, since he's growing such a huge platform now around his lifting. Obviously I know he's not required to talk about it if he doesn't want to, but I've seen pretty young people in his comments defending him saying he's natty and just works hard - those kids are in for a rough road if they think they can get to where he's at naturally. Hell, even if I hopped on gear I barely have a chance at looking as good as Sam, he's got some god tier genetics. Still respect the guy though, he worked hard as fuck to get where he is.

His advice is based on having a chemically enhanced physiology. If you translate that to natty training, you will hit real roadblocks. Better go with people like GVS, Alex Leonidas or Natural Hypertrophy. Really. Things like rep-ranges and recovery completely change with gear. So does Nutrition. People are bashing Sam because he sets an example for the youth that is watching him. Many even dresses and copies his hairstyle and for sure they copy his diet. Sam can do what ever the f@ck he wants, its not about that, but when he has millons kids watching and copying him, he really should talk about how shitty his diet is, its pretty much the worst you can eat and maybe he doesent understand that. So people are absolutely right when they critic him. As if most 21 year olds are eating good diets. The average North American person in general doesn't eat a good diet. Im more worried sometimes about his form when training. And probably he should cut back his overall sugar consumption, but since he has a ton of muscle mass it probably isn't quite as bad for his health because you can absorb more sugar if you are more muscular. Overall though i think he is encouraging a lot of guys a bit younger than me to lift, and im all for that! Lifting has made me so much better as a person

I haven’t watched too much from Sam but he seems like a very nice and genuine dude. Obviously his diet and drug use isn’t healthy but I’ve never seen or heard him telling anyone they should do the same thing. If it’s his personal choice and he doesn’t promote it as being healthy then I have no problem with what he does. If he was a close friend of mine I’d make sure he understands he’s probably not going to be a happy healthy person (meaning heart attacks, pain, etc…..) when he’s 55-60 but I assume he understands that. If that’s his passion and what he enjoys in life than who are we to say he shouldn’t do it? It’s when people promote it to others as if it’s a healthy way to live (probably for personal financial gain) is what I have a problem with and to my understanding his channel is more about his own journey compared to giving others tips.

All the guidance and wisdom in the world is not going to change Sam's mind at this moment. Do yall not remember being 21/22? You feel invincible, and shit 20 years down the road simply doesn't concern you at that age.

I think people need to learn the lessons of Zyzz, Piana and Bostin Loyd. Too many people including seasoned lifters don’t address this stuff. It’s become a terrible sport and and I’ve been natty my whole life.

i'm pretty sure 80% of the people watching don't care a) that he's on some growth enhancing drugs, b) he must make mad buck and c) about what he eats or even says about exercise... he is on the grind with a single focus and the way he acts and talks is unique. come on man with a title like that you'll make enemies, I know I won't click another video cause its annoying you wasting time, like im gonna make a video titled THE TRUTH ABOUT SZATSTRENGTH based off of a video and then say i have no clue who this guy is but listen here. NO WAY TO BEHAVE MAN. ok much love

Sam is an outlier too....he's got the "it" factor that 99% of folks don't have....the only danger I see with folks like this is when things come easy (you know what I mean) is for them not to become an arrogant and hurtful person. I've seen this happen to a former friend and now he's a horrible person who uses his "gifts" to take advantage of others without a single shred of self-awareness. He steals & cheats others and he's just about screwed everyone who used to care for him

Why is your microphone so far away? Please, move your microphone closer so that everyone can hear you better, and it doesn't sound like harsh shouting the entire time. Sam is righfully getting called out on his diet, but as far as gear is concerned, everyone seems to be wagging their finger and lecturing him, but yet the admit the don't know the details of the gear he is taking, don't know what ancillaries and safety protocols he may be doing. Instead, they just assume that he is as reckless with gear as he is with his diet, all so they can make videos about it and chase clout.

Hate leaf blowers! The city where I lived outlawed gas-powered leaf blowers. I appreciate your nuance. I have not watched any videos made by or about the guy, because. . . .well, these fitness influencers come and go. That's a perspective your high school athletes haven't had time to develop yet, but that's what I would tell them.

Don't really understand the backlash "against" this guy, people have been training weirdly / having bad diets for ages? When I started lifting the entire Internet told me to do GOMAD, which is just as unhealthy as a litre of chocolate milk. Seems like people don't actually care about whether this Sam fella is healthy, it's just a way to get in on the trend because he's blowing up.
