You should try GOW Niacinamide the company is amazing. Their products are organic and at first I thought not strong enough, but actually their ingredients although at lower levels work amazingly and long term bring better results. I tried the ordinary one and at 10% brought out all the negatives of a higher %, straight back into the GOW and glowing skin again. Sold at www.Victoriahealth.com

I bought the whole the ordinary kit and I am disappointed that niacinamide makes my skin super dry I literally feel is sucking all the moisture out I’m not sure if this is how it’s supposed to feel but I feel like it’s not right help??

I haven't use the TO version. I have used Naturium. For me, the higher percentage niacinamide along with the zinc has tightened my T-zone and reduced oil production.

I tried it and found it drying my skin. At age 52, I realy want my skin to be hydrated and plump. So I am going back to : Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F to address hyperpigmentation.

Can I just say: thank you for not talking super slow and getting straight to the point!! So often I see video’s being 20 minutes long and they don’t get to talking about the actual subject until 12 minutes in 😅. This way I don’t actually want to watch the entire video and usually skip huge parts, even though I would love to listen to the creator speaking about what was in the title!

When I started using this serum, it caused some redness on my cheeks. It even pilled at times. I was using 4 drops , twice a day. Eventually, I figured out the correct quantity for my skin which is 2 drops once a day. This works wonders in moderation. Use too much and its a nightmare !

YES!!! I had the same experience! I have a lot of steps in my routine and I found that the niacinimide just didn't want to work with me. But now I have realised that it works great if I use 2 drops at night. To be fair most of the products I use are korean which most of the time already contain niacinamide so using it 2 drops at night works well for me.

@@LittleMissBettyPage Even I have a lot of Korean products in my routine which have niacinamide like the neogen essence + purito buffet serum. So 2 drops of the ordinary (once a day) is the sweet spot ! :)

Hey hun thank you so so much for sharing and OMG you look sensational for 66 in your pic so you are clearly doing everything right ..I think the issue with this product is that people use too much of it and you are right to use 2 drops which I think is enough for the whole face and people using more than 2 or 3 drops are the ones risking irritation and the side effects.. Well, i've got oily, non-sensitive skin (i.e. skin like an old boot) and had no problems with this product. It might have reduced the appearance of open pores on either side of my nose but it took a fairly long time and i didn't renew the bottle once i had finished it. I've nothing against it though, it's just not part of my skin-care routine

I used to use lots of niacinimide on my face and my face started purging for sure and didn’t think the product worked for me, but when I researched I realised I was just putting too much on my face, and now after 4 weeks of using I’ve noticed a huge difference. My skin used to be really red, and it’s calmed down so I have that the other day I left the house for the day without makeup on, which I haven’t done I years.

This is one of the rare holy grails, which I can't use. When I put this on, I get instant burning and redness - followed by hard tight, red skin and peeling the next day, (I know such drama!). I thought it was the Niacidamide until I started using Korean products with it (high concentration) and had no issues. Turns out, I'm allergic to the zinc! Needless to say, physical sunscreens are a nightmare. Anyway, apologies for the randomness - but just telling my story in case others experiencing similar. Zinc allergy is rare fortunately, so do double check with your dermatologist.

This product broke me out - since getting into my early 30's my skin has shifted from normal/oily combo to more of a normal skin type though I still get breakouts around my nose and mouth/chin. I thought this would be a good product to help with breakout but ultimately it made my skin dry and flaky and caused those headless red raised bumps - especially on my forehead, where I very rarely breakout. It took me awhile to figure out what it was and finally, cutting this product out of my routine helped my skin go back to normal. Scaling back to once every few days didn't help. I wanted to like this product, but it wasn't for me!

People that using niacinamide should know that after application of this product they need to pump their face with rich cream not the lotion texture!!! Niacinamide works well with Cerave moisturizing cream (original) if you have sensitive and dry skin you need to sandwich it! After washing your face at night go straight to rich moisturizer then niacinamide then on top moisturizer again! Viola when you wake up in the morning your skin is so soft and not flaky....The mistake of other people with this product is they are mixing it with other serum. Niacinamide is an active ingredient and doesn't work well with other serum, having said that it's work well with hyaluronic acid but again you need to moisturize well your face to avoid dryness!
@monica27574 жыл бұрын
Perfect timing! I find the Niacinamide serum reacts in a volatile manner on my skin, personally. Sometimes I don't find it irritating and I find it helps with the texture of my skin, but if my skin has been sensitized from slight overuse of Tretinoin it burns, -and for some reason it makes me break out sporadically. It isn't always problematic, but it happens often enough for me to choose to avoid it.
@MadAboutSkin4 жыл бұрын
HI hun, you are not the only one who says that and I think the issue is that so many of our other products have niacinamide in them that we risk over using without realising so the changing of another product can impact how the niacinamide serum works without actually changing the product itself if that makes sense.. Hope all is amazing with you x
@M_K_M_K_M_K3 жыл бұрын
Also, yes.... I deal with chronic hormonal acne and Niacinamide does not do anything for my acne! Also, my skin’s oil production is ramped up by hormonal changes (and probably genetics) and this product does not make me feel less oily at all. I don’t know if it actually helps me in any way, but I still use it and hope it will at least help with hyperpigmentation!

Thank you so much for the explanation about this product drying out some people’s skin!! In the beginning of using it it actually made my skin feel softer and seemed more hydrated. However, after a few weeks I suddenly had a bunch of flakes in parts of my face and it felt soo dry (even though I specifically have a hydrating routine). Also glad to hear it’s likely not the niacinamide but rather the surfactant like ingredient. I literally was a lot more careful with cleaning off my cleanser extra well because I felt like it was related to a surfactant being left on my skin. Solved!

I didn't like The Ordinary niacinamide. It caused some break outs in my skin. I much preferred the Paula's Choice niacinamide as it was much lighter and more gentle on the skin. Obviously PC niacinamide is much more expensive! I recently tried the Geek and Gorgeous version, as I tried their hyaluronic acid and 15% vitamin C, and I was very impressed by each product as they are similar prices to The Ordinary.

I've been using this for about a week and haven't had any issues even though my skin is dry and sensitive. For example, differin caused me to break out for 3 months before I stopped using it (many references to the movie 'the forever purge' were made)
@user-uu1sg8ht1x3 жыл бұрын
Ah perfect video, exactly what I was looking for!! Everyone is always praising this Niacinamide and at most I found people talking about purging. Meanwhile, I got blackheads on my chin from it (or it's a coincidence, but nothing else changed in my life or routine and I never had blackheads on my chin, can't explain it), dried my skin out af and caused redness. Yesterday it was at its worst, made my skin erupt in red angry blotches after application (calmed down after about an hour) so I'm not gonna use it anymore. But yeah, this video clarified some of the issues I was seeing. I'll try a moisturizer with up to 5% nia next, as i do want those calming effects lol

Hi, I'm currently having a bit of an issue with my skin. I recently updated my skincare routine from cleanser + moisturiser and added the ordinary hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. at first, it was working really well and my skin was looking so much better to the point people complimented me about it. However, now after about 3/4 weeks of using the product I've suddenly started experiencing a lot of redness and acne all over my cheeks and breakouts on my chin and forehead too, and I'm unsure whether its breakouts or purging. Also, my skin is quite dry/combination. Is there anything you suggest I should do?
@maebasilio80873 жыл бұрын
Got the same thing! After a few days of using the Ordinary products (I did start this skincare routine and used everything all at once; very impatient I know), my skin looked clearer and my existing acne got slightly better. But now, after 4 weeks of using it, I got a chin full of acne, my forehead too and the part of my cheek next to my lips. Is it the mask? Or the fact that I started all at once (using salicylic masque/glycolic, moisturizing cream + HA, hyaluronic acid)? I did notice that I’m less oily, too. I have oily + acne-prone skin.

I love a lot of their products, I love that they are cruelty free but I think you have to be careful which products of theirs you use as some of the older formulations are not great.. Hello, I started using the niacinamide recently, i normally use a very small drop once a day, and each time I apply it on my face I experience a very mild itching and it goes away in an hour, is it supposed to be normal?
@Aly-vw1rh3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rob, thanks for the video. Last Monday, I used three drops of this product and the next day, I'd gotten three large and painful cystic pimples. This makes me sad, because I didn't have anything like that before this and I only bought it for hyperpigmentation and occasional, small pimples. The cystic pimples do appear in spots where I used to have acne, so it's possible that it's a purge. I'm really afraid to continue this product though, as I really don't want to ruin my skin and that's why I have't used it since. What should I do? :(

Hi hun I think you should just let a purge happen and support it with a salicylic acid which will aid healing.. A purge should only last 2 weeks so so its a short term problem and hopfully you will see some amazing results when its over.. I hope this helps xx

Fake products are getting advanced day by day as they look closely identical to the ori one.. Some sellers even mixing their stock with the ori one while selling the most of fake one to get positive reviews from customers..
