2ds xl hylian shield edition. My first and only 3ds/2ds. I love it. I really enjoyed your 3ds videos. Saw them all. You and many other youtubers helped me decide which one to get. Kind of upset for no more first party support since I've only had it for about a year. Still has a huge game library though. Really like your videos can't wait for all the switch news coming soon.

Noel225 ok, think in about 4/5 years when the 3DS family has been discontinued but the switch is still alive although coming to an end. You start playing Pokemon or something and need to to a trade evolution to complete the Pokédex, but oh no! The 3DS online services have been shut down, so what do you do? You boot the game up on the switch mini and do some trading there!

People take things for granted. Is great that the 3DS got 8 years of life, this means that when people turn around and thinks it's "cool" because is retro it would be easier to find and at a good price. There's so many 3DS games that you could easily skip the Switch generation and have enough things to play.

Like I always say in all your 2DS videos I really think the New 3DS XL is worth it especially refurbished from the Nintendo store site for $119.99. Like you said better quality. - You get the 3D effect to play with if in the mood or always leave it off. -Front facing speakers on top that can't be blocked by hands. -More powerful battery. -Bigger stylus. -Better processor than the 2DS and built in NFC the 2DS is lacking for Amiibo support. -And you can also buy an awesome grip for it on Amazon to play Kid Icarus Uprising.

I still have the original 3DS model with the NES theme sticker plate! It works well to this day and enjoy playing amazing games like Animal Crossing New Leaf and Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon! :D 3DS is still fun to this day

The N3DS family of systems are the reason why I love Nintendo as a gaming company and how I became a Nintendo fan, nowadays. It was thanks to the N3DS that so much deep respect built-up inside me for the Wii U when Nintendo was trying to make that system work. The N3DS gave me one of the best gaming experiences within that era, period and I hold it as my all-time favorite Nintendo handheld. However, I really hate when folks act like the system just needs to completely go away and never come back, just because "well, the Switch exists, soooo..." I'm not acting like the N3DS needs to live forever, but come on guys. Not to mention that the N3DS does have many advantages over the Switch like: - All N3DS systems have their own Virtual Console service, which is definitely something the Switch can't say, at the moment - While not many games supported it, the N3DS did have native voice chat with a few games with one big example I can think of being "Heroes of Ruin", which I seriously wish was played by more folks - All games in the system's library, as well as the systems themselves, are WAY CHEAPER than going the Switch route - You can actually put any system in the N3DS family in your pocket (with the original N2DS being a huge exception, of course) - All N3DS and N2DS systems have Home Menu Themes, which again is something the Switch doesn't have for some reason - If you want to include this as a plus, the system does have many multimedia apps and even features its own Internet Browser

This is all so true! There’s a surprising amount of features that make the 3DS line so great - including multimedia features that the Switch doesn’t have. It’s not going to replace a smartphone but for what you get, it’s an awesome deal!

if you have a small budget get the normal 2ds, if you have a higher budget but don't care about the 3d get the 2ds lx but if you do want 3d then get the new 3ds lx

I have all three versions, I would recommend 2ds xl as it is the most balance one. 3ds xl is good, but it is a bit heavy to hold for a long time. by the way, if u like to play game laying on the bed, then 2ds is the best one.

I think the New 2DS XL is the one worth buying, if you have the money to spend. If you don’t want to spend so much the original 2DS is an incredible deal!

My favorite 3DS is the New Nintendo 3DS. I own the Pokemon 20th Anniversary and the Kyogre and Groudon Editions. It's a shame this model wasn't sold that much in the U.S.

I have original 3ds and it is sadly falling apart. I have taken care of it very much however despite being careful with it mario kart and ssb4 accelerated it's deterioration. So instead of a switch I'm either going to get a 2ds xl, or new 3ds xl.

In the UK if you go pre-owned, a New 3ds xl is quite a bit cheaper than a New 2ds xl, so I'd definitely go for either an old 2ds, or the xl, it's hard to recommend a system with less features for a higher price point

The hardest thing about the 2ds for me is finding a case for it in stores is impossible since they're not selling em. And on like Amazon is kinda pricey like 20 bucks Canadan is crazy!

Yeah accessories are getting harder and harder to find for the 2DS and 3DS in general. Amazon usually has great deals on them but they might be going up in price because they are getting discontinued

What I did is I took an old cd case, took a piece of soft mesh, glued that inside, velcroed it down and put games and a cleaning cloth under that, if you have discord i can send you a picture of it. It took about 1 hour to find all the pieces and come up with the idea. I really want others to see this.

Yea, I bought a 40$ case straight from Japan. But I have no regrets, the case is amazing. I also paid 40$ for a Japanese grip, and the grip is incredibly awesome. Best grip I ever owned. If your willing to spend the money, the Japanese 2ds/3ds import accessories are alyways top notch and well worth it , especially if your a serious collector or fan.

I agree that the N2DS XL has a better design, except for the speaker placement (its covered by the palms), shorter stylus, harder to replace battery, and no chance of getting a IPS screen (all are TN)

It's a figment of people's imagination. It does not exist. People are getting all excited for nothing. To pack the guts and power of the Switch into something more compact just doesn't seem practical. Heat being a huge issue. I see them doing a larger model that is more powerful. But a mini....nah.

It’s all rumors but they have picked up steam over the past few months. It makes sense for Nintendo though to replace the 2DS/3DS line with a cheaper Switch because all of the games, accessories and stuff are set up already

My cousin who has been playing mario kart 7 nonstop since it came out said that the new 2ds xl's shoulder buttons weren't easy to press with his long fingers as he would press against the top screen instead so beware that if you have long fingers and want to play something that is L/R intensive. Btw he now got a 2ds instead.

I like the 2ds, it's just the way it melts into my hands and the retro nostalgia I can't flush out of my brain. I get the Ds and 3ds clamshell design looking similar to the Nintendo Game & Watch handhelds, but I've never really liked the odd, too low layout of the buttons and D-pad on the bottom panel of the console. And I've never been a fan of the 3D as it hurts my eyes and I get a severe headache.

The best 3DS models are the New 3DS and New 3DS XL. The worst ones are the original 3DS, original 3DS XL, original 2DS and the New 2DS XL. And here is why: the New 3DS and New 3DS XL have better rechargeable battery life and the original 3DS, original 3DS XL, original 2DS and New 2DS XL have crappy battery life.

My bold prediction: *_E3 2019_* *Nintendo 3DS* entire line is discontinued in support. No new consoles produced nor first party games, but some 3rd party games can still be released in the eshop. However, the 3ds eshop will shut down on March 19th, 2020. *Nintendo Switch* new consoles announced: Nintendo Switch Mini AND Nintendo Switch Pro. The mini model is similar to the 2DS, a smaller model with less hardware but for a cheaper price. The pro, on the other hand, will be a bit bigger and have more hardware power, and similar to the Xbox One X, some select games will be modified to perform better on this new model. Along with this, we get in terms of games: Pikmin 4, Super Mario Oddessy: Deluxe Edition, more Wii U ports, and some more virtual console titles included in Nintendo Switch Online. Lets see how close I am (probably not very close)

New 2ds xl has the same hardware as a new 3ds xl. It also weighs less and the screen isn't as prone to broken pixels as the new 3ds xl.

Nintendo DS WAS the best handheld console from Nintendo and when the 3DS came out, it topped it because it can also play DS games! The DS was the best because of it's dual screens with one touch screen that open up for so many possibilities! I agree that the 2DS is THE BEST deal in gaming. Nintendo makes so many editions of 3DS so I have 3 of them. I know some people hate this 2DS because of its weird shape and I personally don't like it either, but when I found a pristine 2DS with a Pokemon and Mario Kart game for only $40, I couldn't pass it up! Yeah, seems like it's the end of 3DS since there's no more new 3DS games coming out and now it's the best time to get them before everything will be discontinued (or have they already?) and some of them will become collectible items and the prices will go up.
