Thought purpose of life is to find your calling. Usually something larger than yourself. The reason we were put here

My values: Idealism Beauty Doing good things My strengths: Researching things Learn something new every day Writing My problem is, I've wrote more than 300 applications in the past years and nobody wants to hire me. And yeah, I already did some courses when it comes to applications etc. Slowly there a feeling of resignation coming up because I don't know what to do :(

you say one of your values is "idealism". What do you idealize? I can imagine that you could go more specific here. Also, what do you mean with good things? What does "good" mean to you? I´m curious about the type of jobs you applied and what references and prior experiences you have! Feel free to schedule a call with me to figure out what makes you stuck.

@Down with Corporate Amerika That's not really a purpose, then. More of a state or condition or situation. I think I've finally found a way out of the absurdity, and am trying it out.

@Down with Corporate Amerika None of these things grant meaning (for me). They are reasonable projects, but either a) seem pointless against a backdrop of the heat death of all universes, and/or b) my role would be so insignificant, replaceable, and unimportant that it doesn't grant meaning specific to me. Meaning comes from playing an important and irreplaceable role in a grand metanarrative.

@Down with Corporate Amerika I don't expect anything. But I desire that which will make my life better. And a sense of meaning will make my life better.

Many of the people interviewed share similar personality traits as they all are outside taking time for themselves to enjoy nature. Try to include more variety of contexts as it seems that many are introverted intuitives that are being interviewed.

In our ordinary daily life, we use the word "purpose" to indicate the intention of the creator/doer/maker of something. It explains the existence of something. So when we apply the word to our lives, we naturally think of God who would be the only one who could intentionally create us to serve a purpose. It is the same with the words, "meaning" (meaning is a message embodied in an action, or "calling", and "mission". Nature does not give meaning, nor call people to do something nor assign missions. Unless we assume an intelligent creator, there is no purpose to our lives. But the psychologists have changed the definition of purpose so that purpose is no more than a feeling and psychologists know how to create feelings, at least temporarily. And with that, we are free to invent our own purpose; be our own creator. But at some point in our lives we begin to realize that the ONLY reason we have to invent a purpose is to give us a feeling that helps alleviate the pain we feel at not having a real purpose. We're spending our lives seeking good feelings. And that brings up the concept of worth. Is a life spent seeking good feelings really a life worth living?

Interessting point...my question to you. What is your purporse in life?
@matthewtenney2898
@matthewtenney2898 2 жыл бұрын
@@misst3419 I reason that God has pur our need for worth/purpose into our human nature to point us to Him. And that if we honestly seek Him, He will reveal Himself to us and that those who allow will come to know and love Him. We seek Him by trying to obey what seems to be His desire for us to love one another for where love is, there God must be also.

@Down with Corporate Amerika No, not religion but rather a Creator. The definition of purpose is the intent of the creator or doer or maker of something. It is the reason for existence. Did you bring yourself into existence?

@Down with Corporate Amerika What is the criteria you use to select what purpose to give your life?
@matthewtenney2898
@matthewtenney2898 2 жыл бұрын
@Down with Corporate Amerika The problem is that purpose is related to worth. We throw things away that serve no purpose. So if our lives serve no purpose, our lives cannot be worth living.
