I'm so impressed by people who can maintain all these different tanks and breeding projects. I have just 5 tanks and I often consider reducing down to 2 because of the time I have available. It's easy to underestimate the huge amount of work and commitment Elyza must have. Massive respect to her.

I enjoy taking care of my tanks and if ur think reducing try make a sump and attaching it to ur tanks so u technically only have to clean one filter and lower maintenance on ur tanks
@mattkinsella9856 Жыл бұрын
@@justjoey69 Yes you're right, a large sump system would be a good idea to reduce my maintenance. Doing water changes from one sump would also simplify things. Thanks for the suggestion.
@shackleDev Жыл бұрын
@@mattkinsella9856if you are going to do that, make sure all your tanks share params and temps. Else an auto WC system might be slightly better

It does take a lot of time eh. I have 4 large tanks also, I'm currently renovating my house and suddenly I find I have no time to look after my fish. I was up last time till 11pm doing a water change and that was after stripping wall paper and painting in my house. Can't wait for the house to be finish so I can get back to my hobby 😢

About the rummy nose rasbora, I have bred tham successfully in the past, they are group spawners, and use dense floating plants for egg laying A very interesting species in my eyes 👍🏻 And are part of 9 endemic species of danio (or barbs) from lake Inle, a sub clan of the Cyprinidae family, all of them are small fish and other noteworthy members (and the ones I had the pleasure of owning) are: celestial pearl danio (micro rasbora galaxy), danio erythromicron (emerald dwarf rasbora), glowlight danio, red dwarf "rasbora".

To clarify: rummy nose rasboras come in 3 rasbora sub species with differing face shapes. However the ones she has are not true rummy nose rasboras, they are Sawbwa barbs. Their names are often interchanged for some reason, but they are essentially completely different fish species right down to their behaviors, too!

I would like to know how she maintains all the these tanks. particularly water changes and how much does she worry about tds and water parameters. I have recently setup 6 10 gallon tanks in addition to a couple 40 gal i have. My biggest struggle has been doing regular water changes. In this video I was looking to see what kind of system she has setup for water changes. Does she use a siphon on each tank one at a time to drain them? Would love to see some emphasis on mechanics of this fish room in addition to the species being kept! You should touch on this in future videos. would be interesting to see how people make things work in their own fish room:)

I've bred chilis a few times, currently raising a batch of fry, wood in particular isn't important but lots of mulm/botanicals is. I find people that have sucess breeding these guys have groups of 20+. I currently have at least 33 in my breeder group. My tanks ph is 5.2, that low isn't important but definitely like it acidic. 20g long, sponge filter and a dward sag + christmas moss carpet. I have an area in the tank that has just months of leaves piling up. Throwing one in every once in a while. Also storms! they breed like crazy during storms. water change during a storm seems to be a tigger. I usually get a nice batch after a storm.
