Its often so much better to be single or stay dating and getting therapy then to just throw engagements or babies at an unhealthy relationship. Antonio had to ask SEVERAL times before Alex started answering, and honestly im not an Alex fan, but Antonio kept pushing him for an answer and when he did finally answer Antonio got pissy over THE TRUTH. i could see how some of the people given the ultimatum are definitely avoidant (alex and roxanne for example) but i don’t think all of them. for some, i think it’s just a matter of time for them. like they want marriage in the future but they aren’t ready quite yet. i think you can be secure in your relationship but also not ready for marriage yet, especially after only 2 years of being together. for others like riah i think it’s bc of underlying issues in the relationship. she wants to figure out who she is before committing to a lifelong decision of marriage and being tied to someone. avoidants are usually hyper independent while she is the opposite and trying to find herself.

Antonio needs to go into therapy to figure out what has kept him in an 8 year beat down- make no mistake this is a verbally/emotionally abusive situation- I don’t even say relationship because I don’t think anyone can be in a relationship with a sociopath- there’s just the people who become collateral damage- like Antonio. I’m guessing one or both of his parents damaged his self esteem. My therapist said whatever we experience as a child is FAMILIAR, and familiar is comforting, even if it’s unhealthy. When we grow up we will seek to re-create that dynamic we experienced as a child- even if it was toxic and unhealthy- Antonio must have had parents that told him he wasn’t good enough.

It looked like he was acting and putting on a performance a lot of the time. He is probably different in his normal life without cameras around. They are a terrible couple. She does not respect him. He might look at her as a mother type figure. Who knows. They will not live a happy fulfilling life together.

Lis thought she was doing something when she said she didn't care about judging someone she doesn't know when she also worked at hooters. Made herself look so stupid. She brought Brian to the show knowing she is super jealous and that he would be dating someone for three weeks. Like I had zero empathy for her pregnancy hormones. Then she went on to say she didnt care that she called someone a B, like the girl doesn't owe you loyalty your guy does. I honestly saw a grown women who saw that she could lose to Riah and that her man probably cheated before and thought he would fold again. Black women who bring down black women for no reason, are the least respected publicly.

Let´s normalize talking about self harming, it can be REALLY hard to talk about it when you do it or years after ( i know from own experience), so i really respect him for opening up about his past like this in front of everybody on television... That's an interesting way to see it... I do see how things could be a lot worse than with my partner but at the same time I often feel like I'd want to try this Ultimatum experience. I just would hate to be televised and publicized lol. But I've been with my bf for 6 years and he wants to get married but I am hesitant because I haven't dated anyone else before. The thing I like about this show, especially season 2, is the ability to date others under a mutal agreement without even kissing anyone else. Just seeing what it's like to talk to someone else, see if your values align, see if you can do better somewhere else before committing to someone else for the rest of your life.

Reality TV has really made strides when it comes to identifying the worst people for TV. There used to be a couple people who were likable, but they really found a way to squash that for maximum drama. It's actually good news for me as it got me to stop watching lol I hate turning off the TV and feeling stressed out over what I just watched.

To me, it seems like they tried to organize this one more than in the first season and as a result, there was less drama. There weren't any spontaneous engagements on the day of the choice, there wasn't anything even close to cheating happening- not even a kiss, and none of the remaining couples appered to actually struggle With the process

Honestly, I feel really bad for Antonio. Not saying he’s an angel… but looking at this way: we know that women stay in their emotionally/verbally abusive relationships because they end up believing the verbal assaults their partners dish out at them, especially over time they’re almost brainwashed. And if the roles were reversed in their relationship, this would be seen as an extremely concerning situation for the woman. She has beat his self esteem down to nothing.

Since this show is the Ultimatum, one person in each partnership wasn't ready for marriage. I’m not a huge Alex and Kat fan. Alex seems extremely apathetic towards others and Kat. Kat has no backbone and defends his behavior. I think most of the couples will end up staying together, for better or worse, I do thin know all of them could benefit from a different partner AND I think James and Ryann and Riah and Trey have the highest likelihood of integrating the learning experiences from the experience. I do feel like Kat and Antonio missed a part of the experience for not going all in like the other couples. They don't need to be initamte but having consistent deep conversations, sleeping in the same bed, figuring out how chores/time would be split up.

I came here watched the rest of your recap including the reunion and I'm good. Have not desire to finishing watching the rest of the episodes in its entirety. I just finished this season last night. The couples that annoyed me mostly was Antonio and Roxanne. I’m not going to to beg anyone to give me love and commitment. Roxanne is totally using Antonio. I think she like being chased and enjoys wha Antonio gives. She’s not going to be happy with him until he is doing exactly what she’s to the T. He’s not going to be able to be her in male form. I feel like they’ve been through some shi* and she checked out. The other couples were descent. Lisa is so wrong and isn’t going to get a ring from her spouse. No way you’re goin to act like that, while being an adult/mother. Period. She’s disgusting
