Phil Jackson didn't coach past 65. George Karl last coached at age 65, he coached 36 years with .588% win % is 6th all time in wins at 1,175 games. Safe to say whatever his issues were dealing with players, the main reason he isn't coaching is because he was old and washed, not because of his altercations.

George Karl was the Bill Laimbeer of his time when he played. He was known to fight and for being an asshole. He was involved in the longest team fight in ABA/NBA History between the Spurs & the Nets back in the 70s. Refs let them rock out for over 20 mins and he started it!

I was a Nugget fan at the time and from 2005 to 2006, Kenyon had micro-fracture surgery on both knees. his body was failing him and he was in a very bad mental space at the time. not too many coaches want to deal with that when trying to win playoff games. to make matters worse, the Clippers defensive strategy was to collapse on Melo and make the Nuggets beat them from the outside, which made K-Mart a liability. so it was a perfect storm.

I've listened to GK enough to know he is a bonified basketball genius... it's so obvious that he was a horrible man manager. Dude won like 1100 games and nobody like playing for him... So crazy. Watched practically every second him coaching the nuggets... no excuse they didn't at least go to the finals once. But GK wanted to be the reason his teams won, never works out that way.
