Life in Jars?

Күн бұрын

Hello there, in this video we take a close and in depth look at my tropical aquarium. We take a brief look at the history of the aquarium, but mostly at the plants and animals that are currently living in this planted tank. These include: German blue rams, cardinal tetras, black phantom tetras, leopard danios, kuhli loaches, cherry shrimp, amano shrimp, snails and hydra, for the animals.
Enjoy!

You're obviously doing a lot right when it comes to understanding and implementing a naturally balanced ecosystem to have such a successful planted tank for so long that isn't clogged with algae, all while next to a window, and without using ferts/high tech, or lots of water changes. And shrimp that have lasted years too! It is wonderful, keep up the good work, and thanks for showing it to us.

Ahh your aquarium philosophy is the same as mine. I used to have a fish room, almost a fish house, with many species in biotope aquaria. My favourites were South American cichlids, African mormyrids, Australian brackish and Asian labyrinth + cyprinids ( danio, rasbora barbs). I also had 3 reef tanks. Some of my tanks were huge! But having so many species became a chore and the pleasure was swamped by stress; I was overwhelmed. So I cut down to just a few tanks, with rare bettas, danios and rasbora. I could keep these biotopes because my favourite plants were also Asian species - java fern, crypts, hair grass, buces and others. I have a big influence from Takahashi Amano, nature aquariums. They are aquascaped but very informal and wild. The best thing about the wild betta species is they do not need oxygenation so no pumps or filters: just lots of plants, good lighting, low stocking ( trios) and a range of invertebrates to clean up. Self contained ecosystems that just need a little food and trimming. ( Like Foo the flowerhorns tanks, but much, much bigger ). Oh and a pico reef tank, with just corals it's 6 litre (-search for Maritza the reef vase on KZbin, its a 10 year old reef tank in a vase. I was very much inspired). Thanks for showing us your big tank, it's very beautiful and well kept. The age of some of your fish is testament to that!

It's a beautiful aquarium. I've always enjoyed having different species in my tanks, never worrying about where their native homes were. I'd rather see fish getting along, being healthy and acting naturally more than something with a zoo feeling to it. Seeing more videos like this would be great, although I enjoy all your videos. They're well shot, very well narrated and interesting, and I enjoy your sense of humor. I love your attitude, and your approach to planning your aquarium. I too enjoy the water plants a lot, and the balancing of elements to let the aquarium look after itself, as it would do in Nature. I Love that you feed live caught food, and don’t mind if a bit of the food hangs around for awhile. I think you handle “long” hair very well...but then, I was a Hippie in the 1960s, when lots of guys had hair much longer. Your content never disappoints, for which I thank you. 🖤🇨🇦

Guppies? I thought you said Doiritos! I ate them. All of them.. I am so sorry Cat. Can I call you Cat? Or Kat? Okay good. It's now time we talk about Noble 2 Kat from Halo Reach. How the H*LL did a single round from a Needler Rifle kill her? Why didn't her energy shielding save her? Well there's a few theories. The first of which, is simply that the Covenant glassing Reach (as mentioned in the game) produced a huge amount of radiation. This hypothetically could disarm a Spartan's shielding. It is a well known and documented phenomenon that radiation can disarm or destroy electronics. The next theory is that Kat, along with the others, did not charge their shielding because they assumed they were alone. This makes sense, considering the Covenant abandoned the city prior to the glassing. But I find many irregularities with this hypothesis. I don't believe a Spartan needs to manually and consciously charge their shielding. I find it much more likely, canonically, that their shields charge automatically. Additionally, if their shields did need to charge manually, I am confident that the greatest super soldiers in the galaxy would do so, even if they thought they were alone. The third theory is simply that the energy shields in the game are not necessarily cannon. This is the theory that despite the energy shields being [X] powerful in the games, they are not necessarily the same in the lore. This is done to keep the game fun, challenging, and balanced. Ordinarily I'd get behind this theory, and I do believe it to an extent. But my problem it's that even in the books, I highly doubt that a single round from a ballistic rifle could kill a Spartan. It just seems cheap to me, Catherine. I'd love to know your thoughts on the matter. Please comment your response down below, or email it to hotsexycorndogs33@aol あなたをあきらめるつもりはありません 決してあなたを失望させるつもりはありません 走り回ってあなたを捨てるつもりはない 泣かせないで さよならを言うつもりはない 嘘をついてあなたを傷つけることは決してない

@@catherinee.422 😳 What if we accidentally Accidentally ate garlic bread at the 3 year old dead mini ecosphere 😳 Oh Cathy, if only you knew. The troubles, the troubles that plague my life. Why did they never make a second season of Megas XLR? Why is processed cheese only good when melted? Why is pee stored in the balls? Why does Better Call Saul have such a small audience? Why do I always feel dehydrated? Why does fast food never tasted good the when left in the fridge overnight? Why haven't I seen my family in years? Why is whiskey my only friend? And why won't HE DRINK AN ECOSPHERE OMFG DRINK IT MR. JARS. SCREW ANYONE THAT SAYS OTHERWISE. I KNOW YOU'RE READING THIS SIR. Anyways, I've been working nights for probably about 8 months straight now. Funny enough, even on my deployment I was working nights. Time kinda stops feeling real after doing so for so long. Okay so very important questions. And yes, you need to answer in code for your protection. Best Fast & Furious movie? Poptarts or Toaster Strudels? South Park or Rick and Morty? Evanescence or Fly Leaf? Mudkip or Totodile? Aquafina or Dasani? Jojo or Naruto? Moderna or Pfizer? Thank you, and God bless.

I just found my favorite KZbinr today! That is my dream tank and I like how you emphasize creating an ecosystem- that's what I want to do as well. Namaste, Hallo, Hoi from Kathmandu, Nepal.

Omg the intro had me in stitches. "This aquarium." *waves arm* "NOT, this aquarium!" *waves arm pointedly*... XD very well done as caught me by surprise and had me chuckle for a big bit of the video.

Vis and fish sound so similar I didn't catch it until you apologized. Your English is great and you shouldn't feel the need to apologize for messing up once in a while. Great content as always keep it up.

I'm glad I got to hear about this aquarium today! Also, I'm surprised the rams don't bother your shrimp. I had to relocate all my shrimp to a smaller shrimp only tank when I decided to get 2 rams as they started eating all the shrimp... well just thier legs, but still
