I guess all of her turning to the jury everytime she spoke was for nothing. They literally didn't believe anything she has said. Great verdict. She should be held accountable for committing perjury. The jury said that she lied. That is a crime.
@PutItAway101

Perjury charges are extremely rare when you lose the case, it's assumed that they factored the lying into the verdict and award so you're already getting punished for it, there would have to be some bizarre circumstances to get a criminal charge on top of that.

That's why it seemed like she was lying.... What normal person does that? I mean if you were frustrated that you were actually telling the truth, would you look off to the jury or would you be focused on the person asking the question? I know it's court and you are trying to appeal to the jury but nobody telling the truth who is a stranger to a court room would act that way when answering questions in a court case. She was obviously coached to do that and it just seems extremely disingenuous

The jury said that she, by civil evidence requirements, lied. For perjury, they'd need to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" that what she said was factually not true, or believed to be true

As a man who lived almost 10 years with an Ex who I have a kid with and she spewed lies about me to the point that non of my old friends would talk to me, this feels great. Eventually her lies fell apart and she spiraled out of control to the point of me getting full custody of my kid and people apologizing to me. My dad had to go through the same exact thing, but sadly was never able to clear his name with his friends. I never believed the things my mom said, but my older brother grew up thinking out dad was a lazy bum and had walked out on us. The one good thing that came up was years after their divorce, my mom had found a tape and asked me to help her play it. Turns out that it was a recording that she had made the day she told my dad he was of no worth to her anymore and wanted a divorce (he had to retire because he was going blind). That tape was magically destroyed by the tape player when I had to use the restroom so my brother never got to hear it, but I did and was able to pass the news. This is a much longer story than what I have here, but it's pretty much all there. It's really disgusting that people can do things like this to one another and I'm so happy you came out of it better off and had cleared your name. I wish you the best and also the best to your child. Take care and again... congratulations 😁👍

Cases should never be about man or woman , they should be looked at from the point of view that guilt has to be proved without prejudice. This isn't about protecting powerful men, this verdict is for male DV survivors. This sent a message that yes amber, "Johnny a man, is a DV survivor". He told the world and the jury believed him, unlike your taunting. This is for every man ever accused and destroyed without ever being charged. We all need to remember to believe victims, all victims, not just women. For every father, brother, husband and son, your rights to due process do not end with a woman making a claim. This needs to be remembered. Believe a victim, but vet out the claims and process them thru our legal courts, not thru the court of public opinion. So congrats Johnny, you finally had your day in court.

I really hope that this case will prove that 1) men can also be victim 2) women can also be abuser 3) victims should be able to talk, no matter their gender 4) I hope it will bring a new perspective to feminist issues, like difficulties of being believed in cases of domestic violence 5) I hope we will be able to talk about domestic violence regardless of the gender of the victim/abuser. Sadly, I’m afraid that because of her, women will have harder time to prove their abuse then before… If I remember correctly, out of 100 cases of women talking about their violence, only 1 is lying, the other 99 are saying the truth, yet right now the light is shining on the one women lying about abuse so it really look bad for women in that situation… all that being said, I really hope it will help victims of abuse (no matter their gender) to be able to tell their story… it really happens more then we think

I think more than the amount of money won, I think what's really telling here is which statements were ruled defamatory. All of Heard's lines in the WaPo article were defamatory, whereas only the line alleging very specific events was ruled in her favour. The broader comments about her faking her abuse were ruled non-defamatory, which is huge. Essentially the court just ruled that stating Depp is an abuser is a lie. Considering her personality type, I can see Heard appealing, but I don't think it'd go well for her.
