I remember when that commercial aired, and while I personally wasn't super bothered by it, I can see why someone else would. One of the main problems in this country is that people get away with offensive words, actions, and implications, and society would much rather defend the offender than think about what it is like on the receiving end. It's just find the token person of supposed offended party to also excuse it rather than confront it. It is not that our society is too sensitive, and there is nothing wrong with being sensitive, it is just that we don't consider the receiving end at all.

i got no idea what this ad has to do with promoting snickers. doesn't promote the food whatsoever or cause people to want to buy it. very odd.

Any publicity is good publicity to a lot of corporations. They knew the commercial would get people talking and that's all they cared about.

I'm gay and I don't find that homophobic. That would be my reaction to kissing a woman. Kissing a woman is disgusting and unnatural. Does that make me heterophobic? Whatever.

Same here. I think it’s funny. Although the Super Bowl players’ reaction bit was not nice.

Dear Duricas, Sweetie, you don't speak for gay people just because you're gay. The commercial is ignorant. Like all gay people are not masculine, so do something masculine? Ignorance. It's not offensive but it's ignorant.

If you look at it..it's actually criticising heterosexuality...Joy is right at 2:16. I'm gay, and this ad is not homophobic at all. It IS hard not to feel sensitive about things like this but we can't overreact either. The GLBTQ community is too sensitive sometimes.

Not sure if you're kidding or not, but she is indeed a Republican. She is Elisabeth Hasselbeck and she is the one that Rosie ended up fighting with during her last day on the show.

I am gay. This was not offensive. I would be creeped out if I accidentally kissed a girl lol. What's the big deal about two heterosexual males being creeped out that they accidentally kissed?

Quite simple, common sense that it does offend people. It's bcause your gay you're thinking nothing of it...that it's natural part of life for you, whereas with others, it's not...

Joy’s right. The commercial actually makes fun of the alpha hetero male. After all, they’re the ones (comically) causing each other pain be cause they find homosexuality frightening. I think we all need to lighten up.

To all the gays proclaiming how this ad isn’t homophobic... YOU DON’T KNOW YOUR HISTORY. Nor would I believe you’re doing much to even fight for the changes we still need to make as a society when it comes to LGBT issues. This ad and it’s alternate endings are entirely homophobic. Period. 🤷🏾♂️

Love Rosie no matter her liberal stance and the gay thing is going overboard on every little thing! My friend who is a gay man thought it was stupid. I’m just so tired of everyone attacking everyone else’s views! Don’t get me wrong…I’m a Christian and the gay lifestyle for me is out and I have no inclination toward women in that way, however my best girlfriend is a gay man. Yes the church talked about us but we don’t care. Jesus would and does love the gay person!
