The thing that got *me* about the "Not the bees!" scene is that Nick's character is supposed to be allergic to bees; that many stings on the face will kill him before the burning has a chance to even start. No number of Epi-Pens will help him.

"A shark, or something?" This line really confuses me. Did he think they captured a shark, brought it onto land, beat it up so just enough so that it could still struggle, and bagged its still bleeding body, just so they could toss it back into the water? Also he's a cop, he should be at least somewhat more suspicious of what's in there.
@eduardopena589311 ай бұрын
Exactly, he's a cop. You've never heard a cop say, "You have anything in the trunk I should know about? Any alcohol, guns, tanks, or drugs?" They throw out something abnormal to see if you react to it, because a normal person would say something about being asked if they have an Army tank in their trunk. If somebody glosses over that detail, they will clue in on that and use it to sense that something is off. This person is nervous, or has something to hide, or may be under the influence of something.

Cage's character was allergic to bees. Would the sacrifice have been screwed up if he passed out or died before they set him on fire? Also, Bee Arthur talks of breeding to produce the "strongest, finest" offspring. Why the hell would one of them get pregnant by a man with a bee allergy? Rowan might have inherited it and now has to live on Bee Island. Sure, they got holistic epi-pens, but if she gets stung while off by herself, she's dead. Oh, sorry. They don't use that word. Except when they do.

There were people around who did dress like that. The same goes for the interiors. The new one has them dress like they're in Medieval times, and the same goes for the buildings. It had none of the aesthetic or charm of the original, the music was banal and forgettable instead of a strong point, it was silly wherever it was supposed to be sinister or suspenseful, the acting and script are hilarious - it's watchable, but for all the wrong reasons.

These moronic island folk went through all this trouble luring Cage to the Island, mindfuck and sacrifice him in order to satisfy their god and to get the bees back. Whilst all they REALLY had to do was not waste so much space on making the massive grass fields look like honeycombs and instead plant a shitload of wild flowers that attract and provides food for bees. This movie kinda falls apart when the main problem of this cult can be fixed by doing a 2 minute google search or walking into a library.

The Religious conflict of Paganism Vs Christianity was very controversial in the original version when it was first released. There is even a director's cut alternative ending, where the sacrifice of the main character actually does bring back the apples to Summer Isle, but they probably dropped it, so they didn't offend Christians by implying that their religion was wrong completely wrong, and the godless heathens were right.🙃
