yo-- i may be off my gourd on this but i can tell you're moving to less lofty 'n' lengthy dense vids but rather more quick and easy ones, if this is intentional i hope it's more enjoyable and less stressful cus i absolutely know how torturous it is to try to put a bunch of proverbial eggs in one video-basket and have it not do as well as you want (i may be projecting big time btw). i have a MAJOR perfectionism problem that eats away at me and making longer vids really wears me out; to see you experiment with shorter, editorial style vids that are being received well is rly reassuring basically i hope this less intense new style has helped u regain ur love for the tubes post-hiatus, rooting for u dog

Hey fudj would love to see you review Rune factory 4 if you ever play it. I know this is a April fools vid but Rune Factory 4 honestly fulfilled the missing sim life aspects that I felt New Horizons was missing. I thought Rune Factory 4 was a dated Stardew Valley but it's honestly a lot more than that, I actually like it more than Stardew and I'm someone who loves Stardew Valley. It's definitely one of the top 5 games on Switch and I wish I played it sooner

I visit Brewster one time because he add nothing to the game and Coffee can have and easy fix: If you drink Coffee your actions speed will be 100% faster. Meaning your character will fish, dig, pick up objects, Craft in bulk etc in a flash. In New leaf visit Brewster will give you eventually a part job and he will reward you with unique items if you perform amazing. New horizon delete so many character, for example two of them (the post office girls) were my favorites and most hated. I remember in new leaf how worry I was about not sending my letters because of the hour because in the day it was Pelly who attended you (A lovely pelican with a beautiful personality) and at night her sister who I dont remember her name with a bad mood and ugly personality. So whenever it was early I was running happily towars the post office but at night I was walking slower thinking I have to deal with that B*tch because I did not want to miss sending my letters that day.

Playing this during the pandemic was really therapeutic but I didn't fall in love with my villagers enough to keep me playing long-term. Plus a lot of the quality-of-life issues you touched on really bothered me, if you're gonna have such a non-gamey game then the movement, menus, etc. better be air-tight. Even things like fishing or redecorating your house were way more of a pain in the ass than they should've been

I understand the appeal of animal crossing, heck I was a major fan on the franchise until New Horizons; the first AC game brought my family together for some of my earliest memories of gaming and I sunk nearly 4k hours into New Leaf. I don't understand the appeal of New Horizons, I did for a hundred hours but seeing these villagers with nothing to say, no "quests" to give, the same repetitive mail from them that I just glanced through it all chewed on me and made me feel more alone than ever. I have friends who have never played an AC game who have put thousands of hours into NH and I really am glad it got them into the series but I just can't relate to it.

When new horizons came out I really enjoyed it, but looking back it was kinda a huge disappointment. I think the crafting system was shoved in for no good reason, I think it's abysmally slow, and lacks major quality of life features. Like yeah, I terraforming is cool, but it takes so goddamn LONG to actually build anything. Yeah, you can move houses, but it takes 50,000 Bells and a full real life day. It really doesn't feel like there was much thought or playtesting put behind the many systems in the game, and everything comes out feeling undercooked.

I'll say it. Animal crossing is a BAD game. Its a too shallow to be a game, and too restrictive to be a good immersive sim. It does nothing well or better than contemporaries other than having a nintendo coat of paint. If I put a ferris wheel down for example, my character should ride it when interacted with. No excuses, thats literally all there is to do in the game, and you can't even interact with half the things you put on your island. Whats the point? Legos have more interactivity than this video game lmao

2020 was a good years on ACNH, despise controversies and such. Months after release, players got burn out and the community died quickly. And then there is the V2 and it's like a nail on the coffin. Nintendo has no idea what is great in AC. The daily update and the sequel gap doesn't help either. It shows in dialogues: there is nothing interesting or hooked about. And it's ironic because Dialogue is the main essence of the series. Where would be villagers bullying without it? ACNH is the most anti-AC game of the franchise, instead of moving in a new town, building relationship with villagers and becoming one with the community, you are god, you choose the landscape and animals and then what? You don't feel satisfy and there is no challenge. Even Japanese on Amazon hates this game and despise the complaint, ACNH has nothing substantial. "I have the impression the game was made by someone who doesn't understand the pleasure of playing it-self and isn't passionate by game making", says a 1-star review. Animal Crossing is better with Kastuya Eguchi as the director. 3:49 They know the game is boring so they add Nook Miles. Isn't AC about making goal with features the game give you? 5:45 A lame excuse to waste time. Building and Real-Time Gameplay doesn't mix together! 6:10 Dialogue is mean to be the staple of AC. Animals in ACNH become nothing but walking trophies. It's like they are robots. Heck, they can't stand up for themselves when you bully them.
