IRVINE, CA, February 9, 2023 - Kia America is ranked the number one mass-market brand in the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study for the third consecutive year after owners reported the fewest issues after three years. Adding to this substantial award are three segment wins for the Forte (Compact Car), Optima (Midsize Car), and Sportage (Compact SUV). This latest achievement continues to strengthen Kia’s reputation for dependability and reliability. “It’s one thing for Kia to tout its world-class dependability, but it’s another thing for an organization like J.D. Power to recognize it,” said Sean Yoon, president and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America. “These accolades from J.D. Power are a validation of our dedication to developing dependable products. Being named the top mass-market brand 3 years in a row speaks volumes since our customers stand behind our products based on their first-hand experience.”

I know it isn't directly related to the video, but I do drive a 2009 Toyota Corolla with the 1.8L. Sure it's only gone 150K miles, but before me and my Dad started working on the car, we found that the engine filter, oil filter, transmission fluid and cabin filter was NEVER changed. The intake manifold was gunked up inside with sand, the oil too thin to properly lubricate the valves causing valve clatter upon starting, spark plugs never changed and the valve gasket was literally leaking into one of the spark plug chambers. The damn thing blasted over the potholes at 50+ KMH in our messed up back lane every single day and the chassis was never even looked at. And that Corolla STILL drove perfectly fine like nothing was wrong. Even with the absurd lack of maintenance and abuse. I'm not sure how much more of that it could take, but me and my family are finally correcting the wrongs. I want to see if we can bring that thing to a million miles some day.

Note on Wind sails. These are an interesting development, but impellers are moving parts. Claim was no moving parts - should be few moving parts. Minor correction.

Some recycling might be kind of like the inefficiencies of turning corn into ethanol and making a hybrid gasoline that gives the vehicle poorer mileage while introducing corrosive effects to its fuel system?

Pyrolizing plastics is easily done at a profit. The process is so easy to use that it can be done in a 40’ shipping container. This is being done in India where is way more scrap plastic than any other country.

I have had 5 hyundas. 2 azeras and 3 sonatas with turbos. Put 30,000 on per year. Sell them with 150,000 on them or so. Never one problem yet. One azera with 175,000 started burning oil. I think they are great. No sure on Kia's. Have a 2022 now with 65,000,limited model. Best one ever..

It's a very different here in Australia. the Hyundai 2.0T models are made in Nošovice, Czech Republic. They are much better made than the ones in America, very popular and no real widespread issues. The rest of the range are very popular in Australia and believe me, if they were crap, we would simply not buy them. Plenty of old ones driving around.

Hey Scotty, i have a 2014 scion tc and just had the cv axles replaced. I bought the axles online and had a reputable local shop install them. They now vibrate worse than before. The mechanic told me either they're defective or sometimes they may take a while to "settle in" is that true? i've never heard that.
