we use these at work as a last resort item , we hate these in anyway other context. (I work at an animal shelter, its in our emergency packs if a dog gets loose and is being aggressive or mouthing aggressively It doesn’t work on all dogs for sure though, thankfully we tend to not have a problem with deaf dogs since most of them are 10+ years old and don’t really have strong feelings towards us Nothing scarier than when an actively upset dog is going at you and it doesn’t care about the hissing noise

I saw a post explaining infomercials once, basically a lot of infomercial products are made for people with disabilities or illnesses, like snuggies or even the potty putter are great for people in wheel chairs, and the slob stopper bib could help people who have issues where they drool a lot or have trouble eating and spill stuff on themselves, or even the dog hissing product it would be useful for people who can't make the hissing noise themself and want to train their dogs, and people in infomercials who just randomly drop stuff all the time that every one think are unrealistic are actually realistic in that there are people with disabilities that make it hard to grip things, but the market to sell to disabled people only is too small to make a profit so they just market their products to the general public so suburban soccer moms and old people think it will be useful even if they don't need it and the people that sell the product get the money they need to sell them to the intended audience which would be people who actually need these products. That being said there are lots of bullshit infomercial products no one needs but it does give perspective when you watch an infomercial to try and think about who could use a product like the one they're selling
