I respectfully disagree. I went from the pixel 7 pro to the fold, to the Samsung fold 6, back the Fold. It's a better phone to me (Shape, front screen, inside screen for reading). I was impressed with fold 6, poor battery life, ... Great content tho, keep up the good work Sir.

That's my absolute favorite form factor. I've had almost every foldable. And if that one came with the most recent and updated specs maybe a little lighter, I would absolutely love it. And I would have bought it. I have not bought the pixel 9 pro fold. I'm still rocking the OnePlus open which I think is still the best.

Oh i got scared when i saw the title. I have the fold 2 pro but you are talking about the first fold. That screen was too dimm for me in the outdoors, the non flat screen also annoyed me. New fold pro 2 is really good so far

This was my favourite fold purely because of the form factor. But definitely over price considering the hardware and lack of software features compared to the other 8 series. The pixel pro 9 fold is better step in the right direction but still think it's over priced I'm not willing to pay that much. My current daily is the OnePlus open apex edition. But I'm missing the pixel experience lol so I've recently brought through pixel 9 pro XL which I'm looking forward to receiving this in the next few days

I think Google were concerned about whether it would be a success so instead of going all out they used some leftover parts like the tensor 2. The problem with that strategy is it shouldn't have been $1800! Especially when it's your first foldable and has some notable short commings compared to its contemporarys.

I have enjoyed my pixel fold. But the way they launched it and the way they are supporting it did make me not buy the pixel pro 9 fold. Just cuz I was afraid that it might be a repeat. But I still Rock my fold daily without a case, and I really like it. It is a bit buggy but I do enjoy it

So far I'm happy with my 9 Pro Fold. There are still some software things that Google needs to work on, but overall I'm very happy with it, first time foldable owner. Is it worth MSRP? No, I don't think any phone is worth that. However, I got mine the last week of September for like $1,100 off or something stupid by trading in my 6 Pro (with a cracked screen) to my carrier

I sort of get what Tommy was writing about , the first pixel fold was lorded for its front screen dimension and the chip was ok at the time . But to counter what he wrote , nothing in the phone world is perfect . There will always be some issues that reviewers don’t like . I have just tried the pixel 9 fold and am sending it back because I think the pro xl is a better phone than the fold . To be honest my best phone was the Sony 1v . We all have different opinions . Adam I reckon you are one of the most honest reviewers out there . And people are allowed to change their mind … as you did with the Sony 1 vi .

I never liked the OG Pixel Fold, either The fact that mine literally folds completely concave, without even getting CLOSE to 'Flat' (Even brand new out of the box) Is absolutely awful Overheating 🥵 Weak Processor Weak Speakers 🔇 Too Heavy 🪨 Bezels from 2014 Just never been a good device to me I agree that it's "OK" when gotten for cheap At 600,700 it's an absolutely BANGER But anything higher than maybe just maybe 800, and it's a wash I do love the form factor though And I totally wish that Google applied ALL of the improvements that they've done with the 9 Pro Fold, but in the OG fold form factor They got it right They just abandoned their original form factor wayyyy too early

Really?? I had the Pixel 6 Pro for 2 years before I upgraded to the Fold. Both phones had bugs but, nothing to where I'd want to completely change course. All phones have room for doing better. As far as we've come, in the smartphone world, I have to say, it could be a bit better!

@cruisycai I just had really bad modem experiences (bought at launch before all the patches) especially on 5G, WiFi was passably tolerable but the modem on 5G was brutal and crippled the battery life. Plus I went through 2 RMAs for the janky scrolling bug and eventually learned to live with it. Android 14 solved a lot of it's problems for sure.

I have to disagree. The only thing wrong with the Fold is the price. Luckily, it's on a payment plan & they've been trying to get me to upgrade to any of the new AI phones. For some odd reason, AT&T isn't selling the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. No AI phones for me! I'll stick to my Google Assistant.

And for me that’s iPhone, I was a Samsung user for years but after the snapdragon 888 overheated all the time and led the phone to only have 4 hours of screen on time I jumped ship to iOS and haven’t looked back.

He's right though. At the time, it was exciting that Google was releasing a foldable for the first time. In hindsight, it had numerous quality control issues, an outdated processor, and overheating problems. It was too expensive at launch. It won't get many software updates. There just wasn't a reason to justify buying that over a Galaxy Fold, or the OnePlus Open once that phone was launched. The second gen Pixel Fold is a vastly better phone in every single way.

Outside of Apple and Samsung, every phone let me down. Some phones like Razr 2023 right away (maybe bad luck, but it was glitchy) some after a while (LG) but I've been rocking the One+ 12 for maybe four months now ... love it from day one.
