@ElSombraRegio77 ай бұрын
@@alexescutia4805 Don't understand why you say it was different because it literally started the same. As early as 2010, the then Hornets owners were being told by the NBA that they were inefficiently running their franchise and that they would need to start reporting to the league on decision maing processes. This is after NOLA almost traded Tyson Chandler to OKC for marbles, and signing Mo Pete to a horrible contract. They were very ineffictive when it came to dealing and were giving away assets in return for nothing. It made even less sense because they had arguabbly the best point guard in the league and were a perrineal playoff team at that point. Thel NBA literally had to assume control of the Hornets because management was being so unbelievably incompetent with dealings and contracts. When it became clear that Ownership wanted out and were looking to sale, essentially leaningninto making incompetent move onto another incompetent move. The NBA decided to expidite the sale, acquire the team and had to step-in to temporarily hold ownership until a new buyer was found. It took another year after that to completely relieve all of management in NOLA. They were so incompetent that they were going to give the Lakers their CP3 for potentially a terrible tandem of picks and Brown. It was going to be such an unfair trade. Thus The NBA literally having to tell Management "NO" and then forcing them to do the better Clippers deal. Again, IF a franchise continues to show clear signs of incompetency and can find itself working into a position that is dentrimental for its wellness. The NBA will 100% step-in. If a Franchise self-destructs and becomes so terribly runned that fans are not boight into the product. The NBA makes no money. Again, there are serious consequences

If the Nets had courted Ime Udoka as a coach instead of succumbing to pressures not to offer Udoka a job, I think they would be in a better position. The key to a great team is great coaching. So don’t downplay the players. Downplay the front office too. If you don’t motivate the players with great coaches you don’t get good play. Criticize Sean Marks. He hasn’t done much to make this team better. All he’s done is alienate players like Irving who should have wanted to play in his own backyard (NJ) instead of sitting out last year’s playoffs in Dallas. Ill never understand why its always doom and gloom when any talks about the Nets, they literally have 10 1st round picks in the next 6 drafts. The biggest treasure trove of picks besides Utah, OKC, and the Knicks and are getting more draft compensation from Phoenix than they traded to Houston, for Kyrie and Kevin Durant who signed as FREE AGENTS in 2019. Its been a net positive this past decade and everyone only ever focuses on the negative...smh

Why not commit to being bad get your own picks back and build a super core of young players like OKC, the Celtics, and the Warriors something that fits the true timeline? Every year prospects are getting better and you may end up with another Victor Webenyama type talent that can truly be the star u build around. The problem with the Nets front office is they are always trying to take shortcuts to greatness and buying into the wrong type of players and culture, they have a long history of that. Not only that their current front office has a bad reputation around the league, despite being an attractive city, that is not enough to lure star talent these days.

Only 5 first round picks from other teams and those teams will still be somewhat competitive in those years. PHI got Maxey and can get a many good return from Embiid if he wants out, PHX got Booker, Beals and KD which can get many return to keep them afloat, and Luka is worth whatever asking price if he wants out. Only realistic good pick Might be 2029 PHX pick and even that a toss up

@@ericleon9000 you had very bad examples "OKC, the Celtics, and the Warriors" because Boston and GSW never tanked to get the stars they have. The current toxic NBA fans think tanking is the way to go is just sad, yes, the team is having one bad year, but patience will turn things around for them.

Sean Marks turned them around really well then squandered three superstar talents and received a quality role player (Bridges) and a broken (mentally:physically) star in Simmons. Any other franchise probably gives him the axe since they don’t have any draft picks and can not tank but will miss the 20/30 team post season. Tsai has full faith in the guy that hired Nash, Vaughn (twice) and fired Atkinson. Foolishness Nets will not win a ring in my lifetime

Name me one other team that has given away all their picks and had the opportunity to get them back and a young building block and declined while doing so - I’ll wait. lol. Teams do trade a bevy of picks to try to win and fail? You mean utah didnt get 4 first round picks 1 pick swap and walker kessler, vanderbilt, pat bev, bolmaro, malik? In addition you mean wizards future it bright with their trades? (Nets are not that special in that regard). Btw if you are going to be precise be precise. Its not “several 1st picks”.
