Bugs in the garden: for several years, I’ve really struggled with critters destroying my gardens - neighbours chickens, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks … “why me?” I’d ask .. they weren’t ever bothering the neighbours’ gardens. Then this week, I thought I’d try and figure out the answer to that question rather than just whining about it. I “think” it is because I don’t use pesticides and herbicides and my soil is healthy, which means my gardens are alive with insects (etc), the perfect environment for critters to feast . Now, I celebrate that the critters choose my gardens. .. as I install fencing to protect my plants

Yes girl, I love me some garlic. I laugh when a recipe calls for a clove of garlic… I’m like you mean a bulb. Video Ideas: (1) How to store garden or bulk food. Especially if you don’t have a root cellar or a ton of freezer space. (i.e. potatoes, onions, radishes, stuff bought in bulk- like flour from Costco/Azure) In this video you mention soaking your veggies in water for 15 mins for a longer fridge life. I didn’t know that- very helpful tip. (2) Lunch menu ideas. A lot of us are either at work or at home taking care of kids. I don’t always have leftovers, so heathy, homemade, and quick lunches (se we don’t eat convenience or go out to lunch). (3) Teaching us the different cuts of meat. (4) Some might not know the when a recipe says… dice, chop, mince, etc.

I think what people forget with the controversy of the "must use 5% vinegar or it's not safe," is that adding water to your pickle brine actually dilutes the percentage of vinegar. If you're using equal parts water and vinegar your vinegar is essentially 2.5% .

Hey Jess, short tutorials are a great idea. I’m always looking for new salad dressing recipes, sauces, spice mixes, dessert or meal mixes. Stuff like that would be fun. I would also like to see fermentation ideas. Hot sauces also. Thanks!

There’s a lot of comments so I apologize if this has already been said but I would love to know exactly how to use sourdough discard in other recipes. On most videos all I hear is to just use the it with your_____recipe but there usually isn’t an explanation as to how you do it. Thanks for such amazing videos!
