I was too much of a punk rocker to enjoy this when it first came out, but I probably respected it. Decades later hearing it, I'm blown away how good his voice is, and how good the song is. Blinders slowly come off as the years go by.

Man. This band are from my city and I heard them soooo often in the 80s as a teenager and didn't 'get' them. But now in my 50s and I'm more broad minded musically I have to say, I really enjoyed that.

When we were in the 80s, the crazy good music was all over the place, and was so normal, it was so easy to take everything for granted. It just felt like, this was going to be how things were ALWAYS going to be. Now, it's so hard to hear the 80s music, and not wish that you could go back to that time period again, and enjoy it so much more.

I remember this band debuting back in the 80's - amazing song. I was trying to figure out where the video was shot and after seeing the ruined abbey in the background I'm pretty sure it's Whitby ,or for others it's none as the abbey from Dracula when he lands on the English coast aboard the Demeter.

He wrote this when he was a teenager, his mother abandoned the family unit. Just incredible vocal too. The fact people didn’t like him drove him on. I hated him and the band for many reasons. The older I’ve got the more I love his voice and music.

@ because he was Manchester united fan and he was full of ego in his interviews. There’s two. As I’ve gotten older he’s definitely mellowed down too.
