that is true ! Cy-yu did a stream of the whole epic saga and he got copyrighted but real quickly it got resolve. My thinking is that it got probably stiken by the old producer of epic then Jorge remove the copyright. Also having the song sped up kinda get me out of the video. I get why tough honnestly, i also understand i could just listen to the song alone but i did like to see your perspective it just take me out a bit as im trying to enjoy both.

Looking at the playlist, I’d switch Ximena’s Polyphemus for Mircsy’s. (Love Ximena to death, but Mircsy’s Polyphemus and Survive lead directly into each other, like how their Open Arms and Warrior of the Mind do). Also, the Done For is unfinished. Go for the animatic by Anniflamma.

I agree with both of these, and would also recommend Mircsy's Keep Your Friends Close due to it continuing a throughline started in her Open Arms. I love Gigi to death, I just prefer (and recommend) mircsy's due to that extra story. Same with Ruthlessness- I love Gigi and it's a really good video, but I still recommend Neal Illustrator's Ruthlessness due to small details.

As for my preference on Ruthlessness, I think I have a different perspective on it than most that makes the anger fit, due to several points. One: Ody had already kinda pissed him off to begin with due to a. participating in the Trojan war (on the side Poseidon wasn't backing), b. being Athena's protegee (when Poseidon and Athena are famously rivals) and c. specifically using a fake *horse* to win. Add that to point Two: In ancient greek tradition, it was generally expected that if a child called to their parent for vengeance for a wrong done to them, the parent was pretty much obligated to mete out said vengeance, and it kinda makes sense for him to be mad, even if he doesn't care about his son (which he very well probably doesn't lol despite my own personal preference for him to care at least a little). So it's just kinda insult to injury imo, and his thought process in my head is kinda "I already hated you but now you've got me roped into a stupid vengeance pact? I was gonna let you and yours live (barely) but nevermind now. Time to die." That said, I 100% do not judge people for having other ideas about which videos are best. Like I said, I LOVE Gigi's and Anni's videos too and recommend them almost as often, I just personally like the anger (and also the fact that he feels like a force of nature a teeny bit more than in the other two imo) a bit more in Neal's. 😅 (Also sorry for the absolute ESSAY I'm just very passionate)

You don't need to worry about Jorge striking your reactions, if anything you should be more 'worried' he might show up in your comments and say "thank you for the reaction, welcome to the Winions" or something. Oh and while there's not much of a difference in many ways Gigi released the first 2 songs as a single animatic using Jorge's updated version. The original recording company wasn't paying them and shit so Jorge created Winions LLC and re-recorded Troy and Cyclops sagas so that everyone could get what they deserved. Oh and: Welcome to the Winions... Edit: Lots of stuff here... Achilles did lots of the slaying but Greece had SOOO many fking heroes it was ridiculous. Also of course Ody's singing the battle plan... he was the guy that came up with it after all. Zeus isn't even fking with Ody here, he showed up and was like "Hey you're my favorite kid's pet project so like... fair warning? This kid over here? He WILL destroy everything you care about... so like your choice but, here's your best chance." Honestly most of the soldiers might ask and then he'd be like "Zeus said it's either the kid or my wife and son... and my kingdom." And ALL of them would likely just go "That's rough buddy." Oh and Gigi's redo makes the kid's fate more obvious... at first people weren't sure so they tended to leave it open ended in animatics. Character info not explained: Eurylochus is Ody's Brother-In-Law, guy married Ody's little sister... which is probably part of why he's the second in command. Polites is Ody's best friend, in the Odyssey he only shows up much later and is essentially just mentioned... Every named singer has an instrument associated with them. Ody has Guitars (electric for cunning/confrontation acoustics for emotional) and Polites has... I think it's called a marimba(?) the dinging percussion thing in Open Arms. Also any time we get a chorus there are 2 answers. Either it is a human with back up and therefor they have actual back up singers -or- the gods/mystic beings who have summoned their own back up because "Fuck the rules!" Lotus is actually a Narcotic, highly addictive. Everyone seems to miss that one of the Lotus Eaters says "A scary cave..." when all the others just say "The Cave!" Athena has Goddess bullshitery, it's called Quick Thought... kinda self-explanatory she makes minds work faster so as to converse/plan in an instant. We all love Teagan and her voice. Greek gods tended to have "sacred animals". Athena's most widely known one was the Owl, and is part of why we associate them with Wisdom. Zeus has Eagles (hence the eagle cry when he shows up in song 1)... he also has bulls I believe.

When I tell you I immediately clicked Alright. Background necessary info coming. Each person has their own instrument. Depending on his mood, Odysseus’s can be acoustic (calm) or electric (battle/emotional). Penelope’s is a viola. Eurylochus has the voices of the crew. Polites has a xylophone type instrument Zeus’ are electronic sounds and beats Athena has the piano to represent her skill. Whenever you hear a piano, Athena is most likely watching. Gods can summon their own background vocals. However, here it was _multiple gods_ actually singing at Ody to kill the baby. If a human is singing with backing vocals they have to be from those around them, human or not… Which means Ody’s men joined him in on asking “When does a man become a monster?” as he dropped the baby. Moments just between Ody and Athena are called Quick Thought. Athena can pull him in at random. Their talks can range for however long they like, with barely a moment passing in normal time (Side- Athena is our Divine Sugar Mama, and she is more deep than you’d think). Those little things on the island are called Winions. You are a Winion now. Welcome to the Pain Gang! (You are free to use these, so there’s no need to speed them up. Jorge/Jay/Mr.Jalapeño liked seeing how people react).

The Horse and The Infant- The thing about the gods that I think Rick Riordan did a good job of portraying is that the gods are bound by rules but mortals are not, hence why Zeus told Odysseus the options he had ahead of him. Just a Man- This song gives me chills every time I hear it, it's so good. While Odysseus had a choice, he really didn't because if he hadn't then his family would have been killed later on. It was an illusion of choice. Full Speed Ahead- It's so important that they keep saying 600 men because that was how many he took to war and he didn't lose a single one during the 10 year battle! Also Polites is baby girl. Open Arms- This....This song right here is so important for the rest of the musical. Not only does it get Odysseus to make so many mistakes later due to softening his heart, it is referenced so many times in other songs and it breaks the heart every time you hear it! Also Polites and Odysseus in this song is so queer coded it's not even funny....ok it's a little funny. Also in many cultures, tossing an apple to someone is a declaration of love.~ Warrior of the Mind- This is such a great introduction to Athena and bits of this song come back later in other Athena related songs. It also shows their relationship and how they became so close. The way he tricked her made her interested in him. Also YOU ARE ATHEEENA! BADASS IN THE ARENAAA! :) Overall- I am very excited to see the rest of the sagas that you react to!

To be fair, i never got the vibe that Zeus was giving him the decision to be a dick. It felt more matter-of-fact and just like a warning. Basically giving him a prochecy in that moment. Just a "do what you wish to, but this is what will happen and it is inevitable". Not necessarily a "youre a terrible person either way, so make a decision" and more "either way people will die no matter what you choose, its just between a child now or your family later"

Not just because it's been one of my favorite ongoing hyperfixations of the last year and a half or so (but definitely also that though lol) The level of artistry and storytelling and musical craftsmanship that has gone into this musical is insane; truly a musical for the modern Internet age. So information 1: there are a ton of motifs in the music if you want to look for them, as well as each character getting their own special internment/style 2: Yep, he did kill the baby 😭 3: all background vocals are “diegetic”, or have to have some actual source. If a mortal is singing, background chorus are people around them. However, gods/powerful entities can make their own Chorus due to their power! 4) I totally recommend watching the cut song “your light” before the next saga, it really shows the relationship between Odysseus and best boy Polites 😊

Love that you are reacting to Epic. I don't know what went into the editing decision to speed through and cut out parts of the songs, but it feels weird to listen to. If you are worried about copyright or something along those lines, there is no need as Jay has approved of all the reactions that I am aware of. If its a video length thing I'd personally recommend splitting up the sagas into more videos so we can get the full songs. you really don't need to speed up the songs Jorge doesn't copyright (unless there's a mistake which he fixes) and all the songs will just continue to get better don't be surprised Edit: FUN FACTS all major characters have signature instruments Odysseus's is a guitar (both electric and acoustic) and all voices are real for example the crew singing "600 men" since they are human they have to be real people singing but gods don't live by that rule so they can have background vocals just cause. One more thing when Athena talks to Odysseus she's using a power called quick thought where she can basically talk to him in his mind

Fun (?) Fact about baby death, while Ody definitely killed the baby in this adaptation, that's actually not consistent in different versions of the myth. There are a bunch of alternate killers, one of which being Achilles son! Theres also versions where the baby survives, but those are way less common.
