I've got a worse movie gangster name. In _End of Watch_, the big evil guy of the film was called Big Evil. At one point in the film, Gyllenhaal asks him: "So, Mr. Big Evil. I don't understand why Christians can't budget their money. they always present families with two decent incomes, yet they're still stressed. I was a single parent, and half the time working just above minimum wage at crappy jobs, not an EMT or nurse, and I wasn't this stressed all the time. It's just more of the "feel sorry for me" mentality of Christians in the majority.

There's some kind of point here, that I haven't totally digested yet. Most media present people who could not possibly be that well off, yet seem to magically be able to support a lifestyle most of us can only aspire to. Christian media presents the opposite, two or more reasonably well off people who despite every advantage seem unable to make ends meet. Hmmm.

29:50 My step-grandmother started taking my sister and me to church when we were in elementary school. Though my parents were Christian-ish but they were not religious (my mom's parents were Southern Baptist and Presbyterian, I have no idea what my dad's family's faith was except for step-grandma). Anyway, my parents didn't pray or go to church, even on holidays, meanwhile my sister and I were being indoctrinated into this Christian mindset that said if you don't do X, Y, or Z, you can't go to heaven. So inevitably the question came up, "What if our parents aren't in heaven when we get there?" And the answer was, "You won't remember your parents, because if you knew they weren't there, you wouldn't be happy, and everyone in heaven is happy." That's exactly what a 7 or 8 year old wants to hear. I mean, that didn't cause fear, heart-breaking, or lots and lots of crying *at all*. Good job, Christianity.

Wait, so if Pretty Boy just shot Nefarious early on in the movie, instead of being a nice guy and letting him get away, not only would he still be alive, but Nefarious wouldn't have run into the street, killed another person, and caused a massive pile-up. The moral of this movie is that if you are planning to rob and kill a rival gang member, finish the job, right?

Nitpick from a hospital worker: "foam in, foam out" (sanitizing your hands going in to the room and again going out) is considered best practice in hospitals. If you ever spend time in a hospital, make sure your nurse/doctor is doing this or washing their hands every time they go into the room. *the more you know*
@brian36349 жыл бұрын

The reason why they smash 6 movies together is because this kind of film isn't just made for christians who are already firm in their faith. It's for christians who are starting to tip into questioning their faith, and then the film bombards them with stories like "oh shit I'd better stay a christian, look at all of these examples of christian stories where being a christian was better than not being a christian!" In essence, they're trying to re-convert you within the space of one movie so they gotta throw all their shit onto the wall and hope it sticks. And by wall, I mean your face.

I've done a decent amount of volunteer work around the U.S., primarily in impoverished areas within cities such as Detroit, Atlanta, and Chicago. I've participated in various programs that attempt to provide life alternatives for young adults who are at risk to gangs or criminal activity, as well as to provide transitional housing for former prisoners that are reentering society. Naturally, I've interacted with quite a few interesting characters. Believe it or not, many of these gang members, they often do have nicknames, some being quite humorous. I knew a guy named "Toot-Toot", as well as a 16-year-old woman named "Dazzle". Toot-Toot had been shot once in the face, twice in the head, and twice in his upper back while taking part in a drive-by shooting. So while you may find this film silly (and don't get me wrong, it is a silly film), nicknames such as "Kriminal" are actually quite common in reality. I think it's the presentation of this particular element rather than the inclusion in and of itself that rings untrue. Additionally, this notion that because the filmmakers are white and most likely Christian, that this somehow prohibits them from properly portraying gang violence is somewhat preachy. It seemed as if you were implying that a Christian or white person could never understand gangs, youth violence and the culture that surrounds such a thing simply due to their religion and race. I may be wrong, of course, and perhaps that's not what you had intended (feel free to correct me if that is the case). But I think if that's what you meant, then it's a bit shortsighted on your part. I'm an atheist myself, but a close friend who has done more work within these communities than I'll ever be able to do, he's white and a Christian. He understands these communities and the culture of violence that surrounds them very well, and he's taught me a lot throughout the years. In fact, of the many programs that I've been involved with, the majority of the individuals who run, operate and participate in them are primarily Christian. I've worked a couple of soup kitchens that were not affiliated to any religion, but that's about it. This of course is based solely on my personal experiences, so keep that in mind. But, yeah, from just looking at this film, I think it's a matter of the filmmakers just being poor filmmakers. I mean, you may be correct, they may be completely ignorant to these issues. But when it comes down to the nicknames, as artificial and unnatural as it may seem, they got that part right. Anyway, I'm thoroughly enjoying your movie reviews here. Anything coming up on your UC channel?

36:40 It's the same thing in God's Not Dead. There's this prevalent theory among the religious that non-religious people are just angry at God. And cursing the ceiling for your bad luck is all wasted time and energy.

We've recently had a few cases within the last few years where EMT's didn't help people. One was off the clock and told people to call 911 when someone had a severe asthma (or heart attack don't remember). She was found not liable for the death, and kept her job. That is all you have to do as a medical professional is call for help. You are under no obligation to help others, and in many cases they choose not to due to the possible legal ramifications. If you are a doctor and you assist in helping someone you cannot leave the scene until someone with equal or higher training takes over for you. That means if you are a doctor you can be sued if you don't ride along with the EMT's to the hospital where another doctor can take over for you.

No I'm saying that they are both on the same level to someone who is far above them lol

MoobAlert2220 A fool with followers is dangerous as they are agitators and anarchists. Within religion, they are called prophets and preachers.
@pighogdogvomitingfrog71969 жыл бұрын
***** still, a fool with followers at least has a source of income. A fool who follows another fool is definitely more foolish than the fool he follows.

Tom Riddle A -ghostrider- ghostwriter is someone who writes something but is not actually cited as a writer. JC might've been the Holy Eye-Patch Grandpa Ghost Writer.

Something kinda odd is that In addition to this movie, Alexa Vega was also in The Devils Carnival, which is a musical which takes place almost entirely in Hell, and would probably make the people at Pureflix shit themselves.

Alastair the Wyrmslayer considering the premise is that God makes people flawed and sends them to hell, and the Devil is able to redeem them... Yep. That's as heretical as a movie about Hell can get.

The casting director is amazing! How did you find so many black guys that were not only so lame that they agreed to be in this movie, and have the lamest "gangster" names in history?! These are the kind of black "gangsters" that drink merlot, wear straw hats, have their gang hideout in a cornfield, and eat sweat corn and hot dogs with every meal. AKA, white gangsters from small town Nebraska.

I don't know if all the homeless people in the US are attractive and young women, but i'd like to see a movie where the christians took in an old man with a non-specific mental illness that shits in his pants and hasn't bathed in months. Because that's how homeless are in real life, at least where i live. It's like they live in a pink bubble, these people. I've taken care of non-homeless old people in the past. Standing up to the smell of rotting teeth is a feat already. The guys in the movie have it so easy!

People say that when you become a Christian, you'll change on the inside. Well, I've been a Christian for 15 years and nothing happened on the inside. Then, I became an atheist and I felt much better.
