One thing not mentioned is that the show is called Superman AND Lois. I think its completely fine that Lois was more of the centre for a season (and receives the same level of great writing) - it matches the name but respects that Supes is still the main figure. Whereas, in the Flash its downright stupid if the FLASH is not in episodes nor the focus for an arc yet alone a season (with the writing quality plummeting too).

You must be smoking something. Season 2 is peak Superman in all of live action history. Showed Bizzaro Jordans character development Superman's character development as a father an showed the greatest scene in a superman live action adaptation. The fight with Ally allston the Universal parasite Sundipped superman and superman Separating 2 Universes with a single punch Season 2 is 11/10 while I agree with the rest of the season

Superman and Lois has risen to the top as one of my all-time favorite superhero shows. There literally isn't an episode that I haven't liked, which is wild because originally, I didn't think this show was going to be all that good when it was first announced. This show is written so well and I like everyone on it (yes even Sarah despite her being a headache at times) but, Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch are THE BEST to ever play these characters live action. It's been a looooong time since I wanted to see and on-screen couple to succeed.

I put most of my thoughts on the season into a response to your video on the finale, but I have to emphasize one thing: there was no character this season worse than Jordan. Hands down. Nearly every scene was excruciating, especially any time he was talking about Sarah or whining about getting in trouble for flaunting his powers (so, 80-90% of his screentime this season). Sarah at least had fairly reasonable roots to her complaints (she went way too far and lashed out at the wrong people, but you could see why *and* she was fairly quick to come around) whereas Jordan was just mad he couldn't do/have whatever he wanted, like it was owed to him. I feel like Nat's a character with a lot more potential than they've used, usually relegated to be mad at her dad for being overprotective or getting hurt dealing with that week's big bad. I think she could've worked better as a sort of half sister to Jonathan and Jordan if they were really allowed to bond a bit more (most of the time she's in scenes with them, it's either with Sarah or because their dads are fighting a big bad, she doesn't seem to connect with the twins much) and I'm a bit sad that she doesn't have more of a relationship with Lois, though it's nice to see her kind of build one with Sam. New Jonathan's fine (agree that he does look more like the rest of the family than the original actor), but definitely feels different, doesn't quite have the same charm and warmth. Lois and John Henry having more of a rivalry with this season's big villains than Supes did actually worked for me and it's not that he has no relationship to those villains (Supes already has a complicated past with Mannheim, too, but also gets to have a more nuanced relationship to him, with the Mannheims really just a mirror Lois & Clark while Lex definitely hates Supes for his role in taking him down/protecting Lois, too). One of the bigger differences for this than other CW shows is that S&L made it feel very organic, tied into who those characters are, rather than just shoehorned in - and Supes is still central to the show, getting fantastic moments that challenge him on a level he can't easily deal with (the mortality of those he loves). I was surprised about this take on Luthor - took me a moment to warm up to it (as I love the DCAU version of the brilliant but evil businessman), but it's definitely interesting.

Season 2 was a step down compared to Season 1 insofar as the main antagonist was concerned, HOWEVER, I enjoyed the villain's novel abilities + found 'Bizzaro World' to be clever in its design and function juxtaposed with that dimension's counterparts on earth. Enabling subtitles helped significantly in terms of grasping the differences (many were subtle). In other words, I really liked Season 2 as well -- just not as much as Season 1 or 3. Overall though, this show has so thoroughly exceeded my expectations that I purchased it on Blu-ray. Lovin' it! Can't wait for Season 4.

My issue with the “finale” is the way we decided to spend our time, which is a common issue this season. We spent more time with Kyle realizing he’s a new dad/announcing it to lana/everyone than we did with the creation of doomsday(think about that), or even spending more time with Lex since he just got out. We’re following along with Irons and Lana on a date when we even could’ve gotten more Jordan/Clark interactions. Dive deeper into Jordan’s psychology outside of him being an angsty teen. Sidenote: I always thought they dropped the ball in S1 with talking about how a superboy with anxiety and mental health issues would look today.

I agree that they put too much focus on the side characters, especially this season. And they focused on and discussed Sarah's mental health issues more than Jordan's, which they just glossed over. I would've liked to see more on Jordan's issues. They didn't do his character justice in my opinion.

We just finished watching season 3 on disc. I can see how those looking for MCU type quips, posing, powers, and fighting would not like it. As with prior seasons and even more so they dealt with some seriously heavy material. Way beyond anything done or being done anywhere else in superhero shows. The one incongruous bit throughout the show has been how OK everyone seems to be with underage drinking. Drinking underage no problem, but then driving? Well, NOW we have a problem... SO many lives are ruined by alcoholism that starts as a teen and is never overcome that the treatment of it here is out of step with the other serious life challenges they delve into.

I flat out disagree on season 2. The last 2 episodes alone make it a 9. But the introduction to the Bizzaro Earth, evil Jonathan, Allie. Although It was never clear about Her origins and motivation for merging Earth. Season 3 was great. Instead of Manheim having a Darkseid connection we got a rival with Luthor. I loved all the character driven stuff. Especially Clark and Lois.

I think the actual reason they decided to have the show be set in smallville is because it's just different, we've never seen Superman in his prime, as the hero we all know, live and work out of smallville.

I think that this season seems worse than the previous 2 seasons, mainly because the storyline was dragged out. Still, it's better than the other arrowverse shows in quality (besides Stargirl, obviously). The season has its ups and downs. Lex Luthor and Doomsday are definitely the highlight this season. It feels like seasons 3 and 4 would be suitable to be considered as 1 big season
