First of all, I am very excited to see you back. Second, I have shared many of your cocktails with family and friends. They were blown away with Satans Whiskers, Bijou and many others. After a few nights they voted that I stay with their favorite, which is the Manhattan. 2 oz rye whiskey,1 oz Carpano Antica Formula, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters. The area code for Manhattan itself, garnish with Luxardo cherries x2. Thanks again for sharing these viewer cocktails, and Welcome back, Terry.

Always love to see which bourbon European drink mixers use. I wouldn't have guessed Early Times in this case. Solid choice though. Early Times is an authentic bourbon that's often overlooked in the US because it's usually on the mid to bottom shelf. Evan Williams is often disregarded for the same reason. Especially the single barrel variant

I don't know if it's still relevant, but for me, understanding the flavour notes of the spirits, and adjusting the other ingredients according to the spirits, really helped me improve my recipes. Also i had to taste like a 150 different drinks to get some experience to the knowledge as well. Find your favorites first, like a top 5 cocktail. You can choose so many paths from that point. Glad to see my favourite cocktail channel back in action! One question/feedback from me. When you showcase the finished cocktail, like at 2:50, can you add the list of the ingredients below the cocktail name? I'd think that that would help a lot of people at home remember the ingredients better for when they try to make the cocktails themselves

Something I've been working on lately. (insert liquorice-related name here) 40 ml liquorice infused Ketel one 20 ml cointreau 1 tablespoon raspberry marmelade Ca. 15 ml orange juice (to taste) Give it a good, Hard shake and double strain in a frozen glass with a few ice cubes. Rocks or cocktail glass depending on preference and what kind of place you run ;) Now this is a rough draft. I'm thinking of adding a dash or two of orange bitters to add a kind of break in the salty and sweet dominated taste. For the vodka infusion I don't use roots. I use English liquorice juice which is compressed into sticks. (even though I live in Norway :p) it really gives a great, pure taste.

Hey there, just wanted to say that I just started watching your videos and that I really appreciate the tone and presentation you have with your videos. It has been my experience that some people in the bartending/ cocktail industry can come off as exclusionists and your channel is very open and welcoming. It's a nice touch and definitely something people appreciate. As for the subscriber cocktails, i have one that I was allowed by the creator to take with me, and it is called the James Joint 1.5 oz buffalo trace or similar bourbon .25 oz sloe gin .25 oz of Allspice 2 dash Ango bitters .25 oz simple syrup serve over ice in a rocks glass now I took this to one craft bartender and they recommended to increase the slow gin to .5 oz and to do away with the simple syrup. Their recommendation helped make sure the shot didn't come off too sweet and added a nice balance. However, it's up to you. Cheers, and thank you for your work

For that "London" cocktail I think making the tea syrup with something aromatic like an earl grey/bergamot flavoured tea would work well perhaps
@CynicalCharmer6 жыл бұрын
I'd personally, go for lemon juice, Earl Grey and a rose liqueur instead of elderflower to balance the Earl's botanical qualities with a sweeter touch. If that was too sweet though, I'd likely skip the elderflower and flame an orange over instead.
@einar62296 жыл бұрын
Michael Deeks Great suggestion indeed, a rose liqueur would accompany the Earl grey perfectly in replacement of the elderflower

I have a few you should try, some I learned from the hotel I work at. The first one is my boss' very own cocktail - the official name is Dark Passion. The un-official name is: Señor Ding Dong (The Simpsons reference). 45 ml of vodka, 15 ml of vanilla syrup, 15 ml of passionfruit syrup (brand: Giffard, but other brands works as well, I suppose), 30 ml of freshly squeezed limejuice and two bar spoons (or about 10 ml) of organic Licorice liquor. Shake over ice and finestrain into a chilled coupe/martini glass. Garnish with af half passionfruit. Refreshing and sinful. My boss likes to show people that you can make some great cocktails with Aperol that's anything else than Aperol Spritz. The first out of two: Paper Plane. 20 ml of bourbon (Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace,), 20 ml of freshly squeezed lemonjuice, 20 ml of Gran Classico Bitter and 20 ml of Aperol. Shake over ice and finestrain into a chilled coupe/martini. Garnish with a slice of lemon zest. And last but not least... Barberi Collins: 30 ml of Rhubarb Gin (Warner Edwards), 30 ml of Aperol, 20 ml of freshly squeezed lemonjuice, 15/20 ml of sugar syrup, rhubarb bitters (optional). Shake over ice and strain into a Highball glass and top with soda. Garnish with af slice of grape or orange.

Blimey, that's a lot of bitters. Does the St Germain balance it out? I never thought it would work too well with ginger beer. May have to attempt that.
@captkrisma6 жыл бұрын
I've seen a couple drinks recipes that have St. Germain and some form of ginger, so I guess so! You can drink this without the straw to really taste the bitters, but through a straw is preferred, as it dilutes the bitters. Personally, I just stir it all in. Cheers!
