It's cool. Everyone makes mistakes even with decks they know well in Commander. Anyone who complains can't have played Commander at a real table before and only play it on MTGO where everything is handled for you. (Not an insult to those who do this; it's just easy to forget real-life doesn't have that ease of never having rules issues.) Or have simply never actually played commander before. Or are hypocrites.

I actually have a different version of the Nicol Bolas Planeswalker (and it's one that doesn't even need to be transformed to be used) in MTG Arena that is, IMO, much scarier than the one Brandon was using: Nicol Bolas, Dragon God. That one has a +1 ability to draw a card and force an opponent to exile a card/permanent from either their hand or play, a -3 ability that lets you destroy target creature or plaeswalker, a -8 ability that causes any player (other than the owner of Nicol Bolas, Dragon God, since he is himself a Legendary Planeswalker) who doesn't control a Legendary Creature or Planeswalker to just instantly lose the game....and he also has all of the abilities of every other Planeswalker in play. He's probably *the* scariest Legendary Planeswalker in the game.
@isaacsmith39982 жыл бұрын
@@gamester512 The thing about planeswalkers is that in commander you're really not going to get to use an ultimate (unless you very much build around it). Yeah, it is wild that you could potentially just kill someone with your ult, but 1: you're in commander, where everyone usually has access to at least 1 legendary creature and 2: you have three different opponents who have time to react to your walker between each of your turns. Depending on your meta, you will likely find yourself unable to even use the card's ability-stealing passive, so it just feels situational and less impressive.

One of the best fantasy writers of all time, every novel is fantastic. Loved evil librarians, mistborn, stormlight... ALL OF IT. And I’ve been listening to command zone since episode 7. Today is a great day, thank you so so so so so much.

34:00 The silumgars command doesnt kill all the golems because it has multiple targets. The second ability triggers whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery spell that targets only one Golem and no other object or player. That Golem can be Precursor Golem itself, one of the Golem tokens it created, or any other Golem. It doesn’t matter who controls the Golem.
@joshuaolson35375 жыл бұрын
Re-read the card, it only says one golem, not one golem and no other targets. Nicol Bolas is not a golem, therefore it replicates

It always warms my heart to see the two best formats (Cube and Commander) come together in perfect harmony.
@TheCommanderTavern5 жыл бұрын
Something tells me that WotC "fixed" Commander draft by creating new conspiracies so that when you draft, you get similar effects to what Brandon Sanderson did in his cube with adding extra colors, making a nonlegendary creature be the commander, etc. Since these would only be relevant in draft (like conspiracies), they'll probably be banned in constructed commander.
@wertm1235 жыл бұрын
Yay?
@seanmurphy34305 жыл бұрын
Well, conspiracy cards aren't banned in constructed formats; they're just worded so that they only matter when drafting, so they're usually pretty underpowered elsewhere.
@TheCommanderTavern5 жыл бұрын
@@seanmurphy3430 Actually, they are expressly banned in Commander: magic.wizards.com/en/game-info/gameplay/rules-and-formats/banned-restricted
