Seven Samurai is a classic film that has had several successful remakes, which put their own unique spin on the story of a ragtag band of warriors defending helpless farmers from ruthless bandits...but this isn't one of them. It's amazing that he managed to bring out only the worst aspect of these films, with terrible performances, bizarre pacing and exposition dumps that mostly belonged in part one. It was Battle Beyond the Stars made for 100x the budget and only 1/10th the talent.

Not only has Seven samurai had successful remakes, it is one in itself. A group of seven warriors taking up arms against foe of overwhelming odds has for some reason been a trope since ascension of Western literature.
