Those violin players also changed their music in accordance with what was happening during the scene, despite having bags over their heads. They even did a whole crescendo (idk music terms) when whats her face decided not to kill bad guy and run away. Pure. Cinematic. Genius.

As a farmer i couldn't get past the notion that in the first movie they are basically diverting the equivalent of a carrier group, to threaten a village that by the looks of it produces at most 10 tons of grain to sustain themselves. That is like the US navy sending a carrier group to the other side of the world to extort $2000 worth of grain...

...you just described Afghanistan except it was opium and marijuana not wheat... Using the US military as a comparison makes this MUCH more believable... How much has DoD spent shooting down flying lawnmowers to keep a shipping lane open that the US doesn't even use... Have you seen who they appointed to thee US Public Health Service?.. Yeah.. looking at DoD makes this all more believable for me.

One of the dumbest things was the guy using axes to fight during a gun fight. Disney's been doing this, too. Melee weapons in a gun fight. Nobody would do that in real life. The lightsabers with the force make sense but there's no force in this movie.

@@Dante02d12 Confidently wrong, it worked because the Jedi were outplayed and blinded. They put faith in clones and did not consider they would turn, Yoda only managed to survive his attack because he felt other Jedi dying all at once. When they were fought the Jedi were ganged up on, crossfire tactics to overwhelm them. It wasn't like a clone could go toe to toe with a Jedi and even then it is a Jedi. Nice try but if you are going to be a geek about it at least be a good one, being a know-it-all and not getting it right is insanely cringe.

Seven Samurai is a classic film that has had several successful remakes, which put their own unique spin on the story of a ragtag band of warriors defending helpless farmers from ruthless bandits...but this isn't one of them. It's amazing that he managed to bring out only the worst aspect of these films, with terrible performances, bizarre pacing and exposition dumps that mostly belonged in part one. It was Battle Beyond the Stars made for 100x the budget and only 1/10th the talent.
@stalhandske9649

Not only has Seven samurai had successful remakes, it is one in itself. A group of seven warriors taking up arms against foe of overwhelming odds has for some reason been a trope since ascension of Western literature. Oldest example I know is the Greek mythical vehicle "Seven against Thebes", which is already alluded to in _Iliad_ and more fully told by likes of Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides.

Wheat? Seriously? Galactic empire fighting peasants for fucking wheat? Wow, that is an impressive level of stupid. They couldn't have just made the peasants miners digging up a super rare magical bullshit macguffin rock that can turn you into a demigod? That would've been infinitely better than using wheat to drive the plot forward.

So to save us from the remakes and franchises his plan was to make a series of films that are just a bunch of existing tropes and concepts repackaged in artistic film technique? General advice: "Same but different. Take ideas,concepts, character and story archetypes from the past which people can recognize but add a new twist or combine them in a different way so that it feels new." I just re-watched "Hondo (1953)". An awful lot of great acting, character development, story telling, cinematography, action, and romance packed into only an hour and 23 minutes. A movie about real people doing what real people do and no special effects. I miss the old "Studio System"; they were movie factories that knew how to make movies.
