My parents-in-law inspire me to de-clutter because every time I visit their home, there is absolutely no clutter. I once lived with them for 3 months and noticed that they don't really have a "cleaning day" because they always cleaned and picked up things as they go. They do it so effortlessly because it is simply the way they live. They're my inspiration.

I picked my 5 year old up from preschool after vacuuming the car and he says, “ooooooooh mommy, it’s so clean! Good job!” That really hit home just how much of a mess it was!! I vowed right then to never let it get so bad again that a small child will notice and appreciate its cleanliness.

These are great tips, Jennifer. My youngest is now 21 years old, but when I was in the thick of mothering little ones my handbag became a catch-all and looked like a land fill at times. And when traveling, especially by air, my bag started out at two pounds and at the destination weighed about 50 pounds it felt like! 😉 Of course, my husband also contributed during those trips. I made it a rule that when we return from a trip in the car, no one does anything until the car is emptied! Much like wearing seat belts-it’s not up for discussion. With this new year, I have reorganized my closet (with matching white velveteen hangers-very elegant!) and the crazy space beneath my bathroom sink. I feel like the energy has shifted and my mind is clearer to tackle my bigger daily goals. Thank you for the inspiration to continue on! You look great and I’m so glad you are up and running at full speed again! 😘

We have a family of 6 so far and I notice the entryway gets cluttered with snow gear quickly! Coats, boots, snowsuits, hats, gloves etc! We have a behind the door storage for smaller items that the 1 year old loves to unpack several times per day. We are working on that! 😂 while it can be a bit irksome and look full, I know it’s a fleeting season and the reason for the mess is because I send the children out for a few hours each day… once in the morning and afternoon. My mop gets used more days than not, but it’s so worth the extra effort! ❤ thanks for the video.

I have also been on this de cluttering journey since a while. I do regret giving away some things, but the lesson learnt is to buy what is needed or even if you buy something just because you like it, it should atleast be used. I think after one has decluttered , one should try and be mindful of new purchases. All in all, it has definitely helped me being more mindful and conscious of what I am bringing into my house.
