Hello there, I have subscribed to your channel because almost all the subjects and people are interesting for me. What I did not like is your comment that the bigger your channel gets the bigger the people will be. Why does it always have to be bigger? You already have 2.37M subscribers and there are no 'smaller' and 'bigger' people. This is a very arrogant thing to say. Other than that I really like what you do. Thanks for taking this into your consideration.

Great to see a slice of Jack's real personality and disposition. He seems lovely. I always assumed he was a bit spoiled and not very smart when I used to see him on TV when I was younger. He's my age and I guess I couldn't identify with him very well back then as I was working class, poor, struggling...but now we're both older, I definitely can identify with him as a person and see that he has all the same emotional struggles and insecurities as everyone else.

Also working class. Wikipedia says Jack's dad had his education paid for by an uncle who had an inheritance so up to his dad's generation they were not a wealthy family. According to Wikipedia anyhow. 🤔

We should be careful with our working class values. A lot of working class Parents (subconsciously) hang up on threads that middle class people THINK they're better than us. And we paradoxically alienate them, by virtue of feeling inferior
@distantrambler

Actually his fathers education was paid for by his grandfather who left all his grandchildren alit of money. The Whitehall’s amusing as they are are so full of nepotism. They are all so overexposed it will all come crashing down. Also he will break up with her when the kid is about 2.

I remember way before I’d ever heard about Jack I saw him perform at the Comedy Store. It has been an excellent line up and he was young, but I vividly remember that he made such an extraordinary impression on me and all the audience. I remembered I had to look him up instantly because he was simply so good. You can’t deny talent like that.

Jack shares a lot about his worries about gigs tanking or things not going well, but there are all the other special moments that comediens and actors don't see. A family sat in the sofa chuckling watching the tales of the travels of him and his father, colleagues at work who share which episodes of his show they have seen and laughing and sharing their funniest parts. All the films and series he's been part of. Being in the public eye, being open to so much criticism must be so hard...... But behind closed doors they are responsible for new memories, between parents and their kids on family night in front of the TV, colleagues laughing together, all those moments that people cherish. You nailed it Jack.

I love DOAC but wish this podcast didn’t clip and highlight every single guest getting emotional. Like it shouldn’t be the highlight clip. Yes it might happen but every DOAC episode clips their guest crying at some point in a kind of gotcha moment. It’s feels like a cheap shot

right?.. it's actually put me off watching at first cos i was a bit like "why would I watch celebs crying and being miserable for an hour?" cos I only ever used to see sad clips. I've only watched one of these before tbf but of all the reels/clips etc I've seen, I don't think they do it justice. 🥺🤷‍♀

I know why you would say this as I’ve felt the same, but I can understand the reasoning to entice newcomers to watch. Because I know just how good this podcast is, I now fast forward through the original highlight clips because the content is almost always right on the money for me, so I avoid the spoilers myself in that regard.

Agree that it can put you off from watching a clip of someone being upset and vulnerable. To then want to watch full episode. Sometimes seeing a clip of someone being uplifting and positive pulls you in to watch it as you know it may uplift your own mood

Hearing Jack describe his dad as best in small doses was hilarious to me because I've said exactly the same about Jack himself. I love him in things like panel shows where he has other personalities around him to sort of dilute his energy but I have never been able to sit through an entirety of one of his own shows. I'm excited to see some of his newer work after this interview though.

Dear Steven. When I turned 30 I’ve realised that if Im very very lucky I just lived a third of my life, which promted me to look back and disguard wether or not I have enough to show for it. I have not and I already have tons of regret. So I promised my self that I wont waste another second and so far I feel like I lived up to it. I dont wanna waiste time on tv I dont like, meanwhile - this is point - I feel like my day can only start after a DOAC. Im addicted to your show and its the only addiction that isn’t harmfull. Love your channel lad! Ps please do a video on where to find a woman in the real world who is both empathic and authentic 😂

I've always liked Jack Whitehall. The biggest laugh he gave me was not from a stand up performance actually but from a particular moment in Fresh Meat, I believe it was a geology field trip taking place in the episode I won't say anymore but if you know you know. Something happens to JP and the scream Jack does and the comedic timing.. Ridiculously funny. Pretty sure I snorted which I only do at the funniest of stuff. I think I have to call this my favourite channel now, I'm hooked. Jack is absolutely right you are a fantastic interviewer, Steven. Because you listen, you absorb what's been said and use it and because you probe your guests in the best way. I think a lot of people who watch these think they have to pay to subscribe btw, they must do.
