I’m looking to give a new T2R map for Christmas, and that’s what I was hoping to find, but it doesn’t appear many reviewers (Dice Tower or otherwise) have made such a list.

Switzerland for 2 or 3 player (currently is the only viable version for 2 players) / India or Europe for 4 players (India is also very good with 3 players), Germany for 5 players (you can play with or without passengers). A special mention is for 5 players Japan which is very fun. Sadly the answer to your question depends on the number of players. Some maps are not very good with a certain number of players while are awesome with the right number of players

I know this video has been out for awhile now, but I appreciate the review. I got this expansion pack for the Old West 6 Player count. Sometimes we want to play Ticket to Ride but have 6 players. Enjoyed the 6 player game but the rule book is frustratingly unclear and I had to go BGG forums for clarification. France map is really fun and I actually find that it plays faster than Ticket to Ride USA. France map is one we willingly come back to. Good replay value. Old West I will likely only use for a high player count. I don’t mind the hub idea though.

The next one should be Ticket to Ride: MARS.

Loved the hole you dug there at the beginning Sam, hilarious!

It is interesting to see what all they can do to the game with what are really quite small changes.

Sounds like a great addition to our Ticket to ride at home. Great review

Curious how the maps play with 2 players....

Anyone have a storage solution to carrying TTR + expansions in one box/case? Its getting annoying carrying all these boxes plus the little 1910 box to my friends house. Adding this expansion will put it over the top. Something that has card inserts and room for various maps, tokens.

Yeah... Right now I keep all the maps in one overflowing box (with box bands) and another box with various components. But I don't even have all the maps yet, and that is getting to be too much.

Would all the maps fit in rails and sails by any chance? And then components in another box?

Our solution to 1910 was to switch inserts between the original TTR and TTR: Nordic Countries. The only difference between the two is that the original has small spaces for cards, while Nordic Countries has large ones. The large card slots from TTR:NC allow the 1910 cards to be stored in the same box as the base game. In turn, the small slots from TTR go unused for Nordic Countries; we just put the cards in the 2 extra trays (there are 5 trays, but only 3 train colors).

I wonder if anyone tried to play the Old West map the regular way, without the city rule? I tried once and it seems to be too much competition for just three players. I really love this map as I have lived in CA, NM and WA.

What is the significance of the triple route on the France map?

What happens if you place a city AFTER someone has placed a route going there? Would you get to steal points from the person with the route there? Example: Green has a route from Redding to Winnemucca. Red builds to Winnemucca and builds a city there. Would red get the 7 points from green?

I don't think so

Wonder how they would compare these maps to PA and the technology one.

They should have put Dexter in France as a nod to Rugrats in Paris (Reptar)

France looks interesting, but also a bit too fiddly for my taste.

The France map actually isn’t doing something totally new...Elfenland did routes the same way, where you had to put a token down to say what kind of cards were going to be needed to use it.

The Old West map looks like a completely wasted experience. Looks like TTR West Coast, but spoilers: TTR USA is already TTR west coast.
