Ticket to Ride France and Old West Review

Hmmm…I’m a big fan of Ticket to Ride franchise along with many of my gaming friends. I’m considering this expansion set because Old West does support 6 players, and that is what I’m looking for; although, the France map has that interesting mechanic of laying track. That sounds intriguing. I do have the Asia expansion map; although have not got it out since before the pandemic. The 6 person teams map, I recall was quite fun. Thanks for your review!

Totally agree about the frustration level on the Old West map! I've played Old West with 6 players and it was my worst TTR experience EVER! Good review!

Iv ordered this expansion but dont have it yet. Im wondering if the old west would be better playing with the uk cards as there are more wilds so might alleviate some frustration in waiting for certain coloured cards

I actually like Pennsylvania the best.....but that was where I was born, so that might influence my decision. :-D Any of the ones you mentioned are great! (Kevin)

The best expansion map is Europe. It is more challenging than the USA map without becoming too frustrating or contrived like the UK or France maps. The USA map is great if you have the expansion pack as the additional destination tickets add more variation to the game. I also highly recommend the Pennsylvania map. The added component of stocks is a very welcome element to the game. India and Asia are also extremely well made and fun to play. Nordic countries and Switzerland are also fun but the inability of using locomotives as wild other than for tunnels and ferries are a minus to me. Sometimes you get stuck with a bunch of locomotives in your hand that are completely worthless if you don't need to complete a route with tunnels and fairies. My least favorite map is France. Having to designate the color of the track is a pain. I think it is meant to add some complexity to the game, but instead it comes across as tedious. I'm still waiting to play Germany and Africa. Hopefully I will do it soon.

I wondered if anyone just play the Old West the regular way? I know it won’t fit 6 people though
