Geese pair bond when they are two or three years old and stay with their mate for the rest of their lives, building a nest and raising offspring each year during breeding season. If one of the pair dies, the other will go through a period of mourning and often refuses to take another mate. If she truly cared about him, then she would get him another goose so that the poor thing could be truly happy. This is disgusting how she is denying him the right to do what comes naturally for geese. 🤬🤬🤬

The one goose, as I understand it from another video I saw of this elsewhere on YT, is his brother. However, if I remember correctly, the commenter or another commenter said something about them having tried other geese (that aren't his brother, of course), but he had no interest. But that's to be expected if he'd already made up his mind about Shirley and decided he was her husband... Geese, like swans, are monogamous and mate for life. And until they lose their partner, they remain together. Another cute/funny story like this, albeit really odd, was a swan whose partner died (can't remember which one was male or female, but I think the living one was a widower) and chose a light aircraft as his new love. I can't remember if it was a helicopter or small airplane. But every time it took off, the swan was flying with it, however always getting too close to the blades. So, for his safety they had to clip his wings.

That is just one of THE SWEETEST THINGS I have ever seen in my life I swear I had an amazing experience when I was 11 when my mom got me a baby goose and I loved her so much I had to take the stuffing out of one of my toys so I could use it as a papoose so she could go to sleep because she wouldn’t go to sleep unless she could see me or feel me. I was her momma I am so grateful for that experiment and I thank Roxy for being such a good goose

There are geese in my local park. We have a pretty big lake they swim around in. I cycle around the park daily and when I stop at the lake for a rest one of the males will always come find me. Out of about 15 geese he is the only one who will come up to me and allow me to touch him.

I have a similar problem. I helped a friend (Wes) catch a pigeon who was shot, had a broken wing and would never fly. He kept it wild in a small outdoor cage. It was protected from the many neighborhood cats. A year later Wes died from brain cancer and asked if I'd take the pigeon. It was provided a larger, hanging outdoor cage. When summer heat came (I live in Las Vegas dessert) and would reach 105f I brought the cage. Being wild the bird fought being touched or picked up. Two more flightless pigeons were rescued and brought in for company. One died and after two months the other (a banded racing pigeon) was well enough to continue its journey and released. Over the next six months Wes' bird I inherited became tamer. She'd be let out to run around and seems to have bonded to me as her husband. I'm dutifully followed everywhere inside the house. She loves preening my bare toes, hair and ears. She's even self trained herself to only poop on the kitchen-hallway linoleum. Being a female she lays eggs about every other month. Prior to egg laying she continually tries mating with my feet. Once laid she is mostly on the low ledge provided for her to nest on. She'll wait until I wake up and appear before leaving her nest to run ahead and poop on the linoleum. As I clean it up she affectionately nibbles my hand before returning to her nest. She is very and chases my partner, pulls down her sock and pecks at her. We're in our 70's and our young flightless, bird may outlive us. I don't know of anyone who wants a flightless, house broken pigeon? Let me know if you do?
