I once had a beautiful white cat who was born deaf & with deformed front legs. She learned some hand signals (yes, kitties can be taught!) & also, when we snuggled, I would talk to her by speaking against the side of her face & neck right under her ear. She could feel the vibrations & would purr so hard. She knew we were communicating. Her name was Kismet & she was wonderful. During years of rescue work I ended up keeping the special needs/handicapped ones that nobody wanted. And I take every opportunity to tell people that animals like that are just as worthwhile as the "normal" ones. They are just as deserving of love & a good life. If you ever come across one with some sort of handicap that needs a home, please consider helping him or her. If you're not able to provide a home with you, please take the time to help find a loving home for him/her. They're so worth it. God bless this man for what he's done for his sweet babies. Kitties are amazing. I've always taught mine hand signals and voice commands. My cats were better-trained than any dogs my family had, haha. They're so special. I love animals. I'm glad you helped with the ones that most people would gloss over. I've volunteered at rescues, and it's sad how much it's like going to grocery stores for some people.... Same as they don't let the "ugly" or "non-conformed" produce into the aisles, nor do people tend to pick them; it really feels like people use the same metrics to adopt animals. Only the cutest survive.... When I worked briefly at the Humane Society in Boise, ID, we were throwing two to three chest freezers full of euthanized animals away (this was over a decade ago- I don't know their current metrics for that). It broke my heart. I couldn't do the job and left after the trial period. We throw away so many truly good things in this world.

It's COLE the deaf dog! I appreciate this gentleman and his sweet dogs. He does so much for kids, veterans, and the community, dispelling the myth that just because a dog can't see or hear is a "broken dog." It's not about what you can't do, but about what you can do. I had a foster in August…10-year-old deaf pittie…who needed a break from the shelter. He is the most chill pup I’ve ever taken in. Why no one has adopted him is beyond me.

Thanks for sharing this , I rescued a beautiful fur baby and she was also deaf but her other senses were very good ! Her name was BAMA and my girl passed away of old age . People need to be educated about these particular breed of dogs.They either death or death and blind. I’ve seen a few videos where people were abusing them if I knew where they were, I would go get them. Thank you for sharing and saving them !

Thank you for adopting the "Broken" dogs. I'm being sarcastic....there is NO such thing as a broken dog! I also have 3 rescues, not deaf but if 1 is in need I wouldn't hesitate for a minute. Also drive rescue transport & 'there once was a deaf dog....but not for long. The 1st leg driver fell in love & rescued her within 30 minutes of knowing her. Your 3 are amazing!! ❤❤❤
