The fact that human mistreatment and neglect can so profoundly cripple a dog emotionally just shows how sensitive these creatures are and how dependent they are on human kindness for their well being. We should do more to be worthy of the loyal companionship they give us.

Most aren't a problem dog, they are scared, they don't understand why they are there. I also understand shelters are packed and they don't have time to make them comfortable or get use to humans again. I wish people would stop buying from breeders and give these animals a chance they will make you a great family member.

The shelter is such a scary place for animals. It’s so important to remember the 3/3/3 rule when you adopt. My latest senior I adopted lived 8 years alone in a cage at a puppy mill. The only human contact was when they took him out to mate. Then dumped at a shelter when he out lived his usefulness. He was so shut down that nobody could come near him. It’s been 8 months and he’s come so far here at home. He has exceptionally bad separation anxiety. He’s still afraid of the outside world. People really need to give animals time and space to feel safe. It is not about us, it’s all about them ❤

Lo que señalas también le sucede a los humanos, ataques de pánico, agarofobia, no somos diferentes a nuestros hermanos animales y todas las fobias son causada por terceros al igual que los animalitos.

When we talk to animals, most of us reflexively go up an octave and suddenly we can no longer ENUNCIATE our words. It seems to ease their fears. Imagine the reaction we would get if we spoke the same way to people we just met!

@elenapetrova13893 ай бұрын
@@meghasinghania1 Of course not. Every living thing must be fed according to its kind. Turning a cat or a dog, for example, into a vegan is also cruelty. Veganism is a choice. A person has the right to choose what to be. But to forcibly turn an animal that is a predator into a vegan is going against nature, taking away the animal's personal rights and cruelty. No one has the right to make a decision for another.

It can take at least 6 weeks for a rescue, even with no 'bad' history to settle and feel relaxed. Sadly, I've known people who've had a dog a day and return them. People don't learn about dogs and behaviour before getting one, regardless of where it's from or it's age. They want a perfect dog, which doesn't exist - only a dog perfect for you. Our last rescue had been mistreated and was terrified of a lot of things. Once he trusted you, he was a 25kg lap dog who would have had you cuddle him all day if he could. His reaction to things when he was unsure/scared was to bark. People thought it was aggression - despite there being no teeth/growling. As he was a staffie x, and large, it made people worse, which also effected his reaction.Our current rescue dog, at just 5kg, does the same thing. His teeth are also sharper! Others think it's funny with a small dog, despite the fact that most bite injuries ( although obviously not as severe) are from smaller dogs. He hadn't been mistreated, just moved around a lot and is still only 18m old. We've had him for 3 months and we've really noticed a difference in his personality and how he responds to strange things. He is also a dognado. All that said, if people don't like dogs, and my dog in particular, then I doubt I would want to know them! 😂

Both my babies were saved by rescuers, who took time with them. I appreciate rescuers work an incredible, immeasurable amount. We Catholics have saints, that we ask to pray with us, and for us. It's like having an extra set of hands, at your Christmas gathering. I used to ask for At. Francis' help, but then, I found ST. Roch, and he is the Patron of Dogs. I began asking for him to pray for human to be what our doggies think we are. I sure hope you will join me, and ask his help, especially with regard to strays. St. Roch, patron saint of dogs, please pray for people to be kinds to strays; to feed, water, shelter, and provide medical care. Help us to teach others to never hurt, or tease. I pray that humans will be what our doggies think we are. St. Roch, patron of dogs, pray for us! God Bless you.
