Do you think the KTM version will be more crash proof than the SW Motech one? I feel like it should be with the additional crossbar. Picking our new “his and hers” 390’s up tomorrow morning!

Congrats!! I think the stock KTM bars are pretty good - Not sure if I would upgrade them unless you plan some pretty tough off roading.

If you didn't already, I'd suggest some Locktite Blue on the threads for the rack mounting bolts. M'be some white cutting board stock (plastic) cut to shape of your existing saddle bags, drill/countersink for mounting them to the mounts, and m'be drilling/bolting some D-rings to the cutting board plates to mount your saddle bags to?

Yup - Added the blue Loctite - not super clear on the video. I love the idea of the cutting boards!!! Genius 💡 You always have the best ideas 👍

Looking good Michael. I found that going down the aftermarket route, I ran into issues with fitment etc. SW motech is your best option, they fit pretty much every make. Most manufacturers OEM are SW motech. I used Acerbis hand guards for TW 200 few years ago & my buddy has Barkbusters for his NC 750x. I noticed with your motorcycle stand that it's assembled with the handle facing down on the ground. It should be flat with it tipped slightly up. I made the same mistake when I put mine together. 😅 Love the 390, hope to see more.

Thanks Steven! I did notice that the SW Motech stuff was available for a large amount of models, with a selection of bag types. I'm kinda tempted with the Sysbag WP but I can only fit a small (right) medium (left) and I'm not sure I can deal with different sized bags 😬 LOL - I'll have to check the bike lift 😆 I never noticed and it works great anyways! Thanks for the heads up!

Great video Mike. Esme didn't make an appearance tho. Lol. I got similar bags. I haven't had them out yet. I got the Wild Heart bags. I believe they are 36 liters. I had great luck with Wild Heart bags in the past. I'll make sure to keep checking the straps. I love that ktm. My next bike!!,

Awesome! Esme, Simon and Lizzy will be back in new videos! I like the soft bags but the mounting could be better 🤨 I'll check out the Wild Heart bags too! The KTM 390 ADV checks a lot of boxes for me and for the money its very hard to beat!

It's a quality rack - I'm struggling to find the bags I want for it. I also found you can buy the SW Motech rack, adaptors and bags in a kit for the 390 ADV - Its cheaper to buy that way. 🤔
