This is so good! I was lost in the personal branding story meaning: tell stories about you or be an expert in your niche? But wait, they say it's not about you, it's about your audience! That's what my clients are saying. - tell your story that resonates with your ideal audience! That's exactly what Instagram is trying to do with reels- entertain and show your personality first. People know you better and then want to do business with you because your values are the same.

The first 90 seconds into your video and you’ve really got me thinking. I have a hugely robust life story and it’s bits and pieces of that which I tell when talking with people in person. In all of that, my book-writing and entrepreneurial career comes shining through with no extra effort. Yet, I struggle constantly to get a clear grasp on the kind of social media content I should be creating to stand out from the masses of other writers doing social media. THIS is the key, isn’t it?! Okay, back to your eye-opening video… 😃

YES YES YES I resonate BIGGGGG time with this & have put many comments which look like novels on Chri’s iG posts lol relating to story telling !!! I have been telling my story from the beginning !!! & while I am ABSOLUTELY no one & just a VERY small fish in the sea... with those I do reach , n my little community I often have Ppl (clients) come to me & say " I feel like I already know you , I watch you online & I LOVE checking out your daily stories on IG & so now its time for me to start working on branding my business I’d like to work with you “ or it’s purely from word of mouth .. This is one thing I have said since I have shown up on socials - Start from the heart & share your reality. Big Dog Roc (my dog ) IS A HUGE part of how I built my passion into a paying career.. So I was coming out of 10 years of being a full time carer.... the WHOLE of my 20’s I spent as a full time carer to my then terminally ill mum ( prior to a life saving liver transplant , 2 strokes & endless health issues) One's 20’s are a prime growth chapter & I didnt get to experience it, (no regrets it made me who I am) however at the time I had NO idea who I was anymore, no idea what I enjoyed or how I was ever going to get back into the workforce again. But I knew one thing, I LOVED to design, to create, draw & write. Turn ideas into visual stories. I spent yrs in hospitals , waiting in ICU, sleeping in my car in the hospital car park because I couldn’t drive home as my mum was touch & go. So once my mum started to get a little better health wise, I slowly transitioned from carer to my own life but I was lost. I was in a terrible place mentally but to keep myself sane I offered people free design, countless nights posting in FB pages offering business card design posters etc - it was the one thing that set my soul on fire- which I now call (Creative meaningful design with visual voice & vibe™) THEN Big Roc came into my life unexpectedly, he was from a broken home breeding dogs for dog fighting & if I didnt take him he was going to be put to sleep, so even though I was in no state I couldn’t not take him .... & THEN I started walking, not because I wanted to but he was a pup & I had too, he needed attention love & exercise - Getting out & walking was a HUGE part of my mental health recovery & if it wasn't for my rescue dog, I dont know if I would have started to get well! THIS is my lifestyle ... I am not a seperate entity from my “business” I am me & what you see is what you get. We will not be everyones cuppa tea & thats okay.. not everyone will understand WHAT you do & how you do it, they wont like how you show up, speak your truths but thats okay too! There’s over 7 billion ppl in this world, so finding the right ones will come...the ONLY way they will find you is if you share your honest thoughts, realties, story & journey.. ANYWAYS, phew what a long comment, just rolling with what is coming to mind as this topic of sharing our stories is huge for me... One last thing though (& Chris knows how BIG of a fan I am ) - I have been watching learning & loving the TF journey since 2016 (when I first discovered Chris online) I’m so glad Chis feels this way about sharing our stories, because I remember a comment Chris made a few years back about showing up online which stuck with me because of how close the comment was to my heart , he said “IF you’re looking to appeal to customers for design you’re not going to post pictures of your dog, or your day out” - I listen to Chris , but I do things in my own way, with my perceptions... but SO much of what I have learned is with thanks to Chris/Mel/Ben/Matt ..... but one thing I couldn’t do , is stop posting my dog lol & the stories attached to my dog. I felt like I was doing something wrong because Chris had said it & well... I didn't stop posting my dog.. My dog is part of my personal brand I guess & due to sharing him & the stories has resulted in OTHER dog lovers joining my socials , & best of all ... Dog related services/product based businesses come to me for their brand identity & they would have to be one of my fav business areas to work with! I have unintentionally done this , I never shared my stories & dog with an expectation or strategy , from day dot I have rolled with my real, sacrificed a helluva lot & while I am no one I am someone of immense passion & while I am no where I am a darn lot further ahead than I was in 2016. STILL just getting started , there’s no end to the journey,. here for the longggg road, I’m not here to count the years or to compare myself, I am here to be me & give back & do it differently! CHEERS , love from this crazy-cuppa-lovin-designin’-dog-mum Loz Chai :D xoxo THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO TF & CHRIS !!!!
