There are a couple of things that I want to say here. First, I can’t imagine the difficulties and challenges that you face with your illness and I appreciate you sharing with your viewers a glimpse of that part of yourself. Second, I have been a practicing green witch for over almost 35 years, and just want to say, that I love to see the younger generation’s fresh new take on the different ways that they practice. You have created for yourself a gentle and beautiful pathway. Third, I really enjoy your videos; absolutely gorgeous, calming, and I can tell you are putting your heart and soul into these videos. Keep it up girl, you are doing fabulous. Blessed Be. ❤️

As a new green witch (I've only been practicing for about six months), I love your comment. Annie is amazing and is one of my prominent influences in pursuing this path. I admire your experience, and, if I may ask, what inspired you to choose the path of the green witch almost 35 years ago? Blessed be!

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you've gotten judged for not being vegan - the idea of it is nice, but it's just not practical for everyone. I personally have greatly reduced the amount of animal products I eat, and certain non-food animal products I buy, but I will never be vegan.

As someone with the goal of being vegan: I've been working towards it from eating like a normal Texan for like six years. It's a different journey for everyone and anything helps. I hate that so many people in my community take the severity of the issue and run with it. It might be a problem but it's unrealistic to expect anyone to be educated, sustainably healthy, or to go cold turkey when there is so much gatekeeping and shaming within the extreme parts of the community. It flushes out all of the ACTUALLY useful and very immediately actionable info when the KZbin feed is all Instagram vegans that eat less than 1400 calories a day and extremists that call meat eaters out instead of being kind. 🥺😔

i used to be vegan but sadly had to go back to eating meat (oddly enough, for health reasons lol). it's not my favorite thing, but it is what it is and i always remember to live in gratitude while eating my meals. i never understood the judgment surrounding people's personal diets. the hostility in some communities surrounding the ways and what we eat is so strange.

More than being vegan or not, it's how you eat your meals, if it's animal based atleast make sure the animals you're consuming were treated correctly and were killed with the least pain possible. Sure you won't know if a pig was treated correctly because a pig is not kosher, however when it's a cow if it says Kosher then you're making sure the animal was treated correctly. If you're eating eggs, atleast make sure you're getting them from a local farmer and not mass produced ones. As you all know, intention matters. If someone wants to be vegan, great job, I respect it. If someone doesn't want to be vegan, I respect it too. You do you.

I dont struggle withthe same disorder as you but as someone who has struggled with anorexia and now has IBS, I completely relate to the inability to experience food the same way others do. the feeling of sitting at a table and not being able to join in with the festivities is a horrible one. thank you for having your struggle because I'm sure you have helped many people. I also wanted to say that I'm sorry if you've recieved any judgement for not being vegan. I'm fortunate enough that I can be vegan but I know that it really is not a suitable diet for everyone and should not be forced onto others. I'm glad you've found a way to interact and work with food that brings you joy and is healthy for you. I love how calming this video is, you're really inspiring me to live a more "green" life in small ways. Also, thank you for sharing your experience about your condition. I like how you shared that you still try to share in meals with others despite your condition. I've never heard of it before, but I can vaguely relate as I have a condition that makes my bowels reject a lot of food groups that other people can eat. Sometimes it is hard to share meals with others because there are a lot of things that hurt me and are present in many foods. Hearing your experience put that into perspective for me but also gave me ideas on how I can still enjoy meals with others that I may not be able to eat myself. Thank you! Blessed be! Edit: a word

I randomly stumbled across this video and first off, you’re so freaking beautiful, I’m literally gay screaming. (Well, in my head, it’s like, 5:30am right now.) Secondly, I haven’t seen any creator so far with EDS, and that totally took me off guard, and I had looked down to peel a sticker off of my laptop and my head snapped right back up as soon as I heard that. I’m currently dealing with a huge health decline due to EDS. I’m currently diagnosed with type three, but I’m in the process of getting my diagnosis changed due to my heart condition and the fact my stomach has recently decided to hate doing the job of keeping stomach acid… In my stomach… where it belongs. I’ve had three hospitalizations this year already since it causes my esophagus to bleed rapidly and I vomit blood. It’s taken so much of my life away. I was lucky enough to spend three healthy months with my newborn daughter and she was a year old before I reached a point of being able to be at home for more than two or three weeks before going right back to the hospital for months at a time, and right now, I’ve hit my longest time yet at almost four months at home. My daughter turned three this year and attempting to raise her from a hospital bed is just… It’s hard. It’s hard, but I did it in the end, and now, fingers crossed, I’m on the way up, and not down. It’s kinda messed me up in a weird way, but for some reason, just hearing someone else is dealing with similar issues, with the same condition, was just… Healing… In a way? I don’t really know how to describe it. I hit subscribe right away, and thank you for sharing that part of you, and I’m sending all of my positive thoughts, feelings, and vibes right your way.

I'm sending you positive thoughts, feelings and vibes. I don't have EDS but know several people IRL and online who do. For me it's helpful to know others have bodies that do what mine does. It's a trapeze walk trying to keep everything going to the point that life can be kinda normal. I did a lot of trial and err back in mostly in the 90's and lived according to what worked to keep quality of life normal. Now my silly habits have snazy labels like paleo, fodmap, whole 30. It's a tight rope to walk and hard, sad decisions along the way.

You mentioning EDS made my mind lowkey scream in excitement that someone within the witch community that I watch also has it. My diagnosis isn't 100% confirmed, as in I haven't had the genetic testing done yet because the world is insane, but my geneticist does strongly believe I have it. I don't know why my brain got so excited at that, probably more due to me being sleep deprived, lol. But I do feel your EDS struggle.

@Myth Tree I... I honestly don't want to be rude here, but don't ever tell someone that their disease or condition doesn't exist. Honestly, I do not have the words to respond to this. But it is a condition. A condition that is present from birth. A condition that causes a lot of suffering. Please refrain from telling people you don't believe their condition exists, because not only does it make a person who already suffers on a daily basis feel horrible, but honestly it helps aiding in the abelist mindset of "oh, you're just doing something wrong, If you do xyz you'll be cured!"

@Myth Tree I was trying very hard not to be rude, I apologise if you took it that way. The way I read your comment was that you didn't believe that the condition existed. I have never been on a plant based diet. But I do apologise you took my response as rude. I am very often told my diagnosis' don't exist from people who don't know any better, and I do apologise I took your comment that way if that is not what you intended.

I find it very interesting that people would get mad about honey being used. I am a beekeeper myself and honestly my babies are happy, and I always do what is best for them in terms of harvesting, or not harvesting, or feeding, and if you want honey that comes from beekeepers who do the same, just buy honey at like a farmer's market, where you can get it straight from a local beekeeper.

I have always been curious but raised Baptist and Methodist. I was finding myself in a crisis of ‘faith’ in the mid-‘80s and cried out in my mind “if there really is a God, just give me a sign.” After a while I realized I was getting an answer form the trees around me, “We’ve always been right here.” So, Druid? I quickly resolved to take a serious look into witchcraft, which I have always been interested in. This finally felt like “home.”

Can I ask how you created your own businesses based around creativity and herbs? Overwhelming? How did you start?
@peaceshallnotbebroke
@peaceshallnotbebroke 4 жыл бұрын
@Myth Tree YIKES it definitely does exist. Don't diminish a disorder just because you're into spirituality. That's awful and invalidating. My EDS is awful today and this was absolutely not the comment I wanted to read.
@peaceshallnotbebroke
@peaceshallnotbebroke 4 жыл бұрын
@Myth Tree EDS doesn't just go away. It's dismissive to people with the disorder to say that it can be cured by eating meat and saying it's because of Celtic genes. It's because of genes but not Celtic- it's a genetic disorder. Science has it's place, EDS exists, and even when I eat more meat it doesn't help. It's great that your condition improved by a change in diet. There is no cure for EDS. Lots of theories, lots of ideas, but no real cures.

It isn't the primary focus of their channel (which is about travel/food in Japan), but they are honest about their bad days and like to use their videos as a way to educate others. Before them I had never heard of EDS, and neither had many of the medical professionals they saw in South Korea and Japan. While her situation differs from yours on a food basis, it is helpful to know you are not alone. I hope that your craft helps to to #buildaladder on the darkest of days.

watching this video was lovely. You have such a lovely warm, calm and kind aura. Keep doing what you are doing. I had a good friend with EDS who sadly passed away. She was just as lovely and strong as you! I have another friend who also has it. Thank you for being so open. I know it's not easy. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!

You’ve put a lot of things into perspective for me, with irritable bowel syndrome and a strict low fodmap diet I have to stick to to function “normally” without any symptoms. Your optimism and faith is inspiring and I love that you found a way to, to a degree, take part in social activities revolving around food through making it, despite not being able to eat it.

Thank you for talking a little bit about your medical struggles. I also am disabled (although, maybe you don't consider yourself to be disabled) and it's fascinating to learn a little bit about someone else's medical journey. I thought that your rings might be for pain management or something. My mom also wears ring splints that she buys from Etsy. I think they are so interesting looking and not at all ugly like most other medical equipment. She uses hers for her arthritis. Do you do anything relating to magic to ease your symptoms at all? I'll share a little bit about myself, too: I was born without an esophagus and had one created for me out of part of my stomach, so I spent a couple of years as a baby and toddler being tube-fed until my esophagus was created. I still have the scar from it and I call it my second belly button. :) My husband also shared that experience as a baby. We both have a functional esophaguses (esophagi?) now for the most part.

For those who are interested in Herbalism, I work as a homework reviewer for Rosemary Gladstar. Her books are amazing and she has a beginner book out that would be a good place to start. Becoming an Herbalist 27 years ago was life-changing for me and also led me to the path of Paganism. You'll be amazed how many of those wild weeds growing in your yard are fantastic medicine. As a former librarian, once libraries are open again, ask them for different plant id books and herbal medicine books and find the ones you like the most. I'm learning a lot about gastroparesis since my daughter's boyfriend has it-- linked to his Type 1 diabetes.

This was a beautiful video, thank you for sharing your Q and A here on youtube. I am a vegan but everything that you said I completely understand and agree with. You are doing what you need to do in your life, which is perfectly fine. Also, you are incredibly lucky your parents and family supported you when they found out you are a witch. I am a secular Zen Buddhist and when my family found out I was ridiculed, bullied and ignored as if I didn't even exist. It was a difficult thing to go through, but I became stronger and learned a lot through all that. It makes me happy to hear other families are more supportive though.

Wicca was such a special haven for me in high school - it was the very first kind of mysticism that resonated with me. I didn't keep up with it, but I did indeed find it a magical and healing experience. Now that I practice spirituality, law of attraction, and "higher consciousness" realm work, I would be curious to see the parallels between the practices today. As of this year, (at 30 years old mind you!) I finally came across Gnostic teachings and I couldn't contain my joy of discovering such a wonderfully positive version of Christianity. It's certainly is close to or has similar vibes of Wicca, spirituality, and the like. Lastly, have you read the Emerald Tablets of Thoth? (Crystalinks has an epic translation)

There’s several types of EDS but stats say it’s somewhere between 1 in 2500 to 1 in 5000, so while it is considered rare (1 in 2000 is typically the classification of ‘rare’ for medical syndromes etc) it is probably more common that the term ‘rare’ would lead you to think 🙂

I feel really drawn to your channel and your personality. I'm going through a hard time atm with health worries and I bought some things today to help me on a spiritual level like a good luck spell talisman and some crystals for healing and protection. I've always had an affinity with nature and I'm very interested in Witchcraft and Wicca and all of those types of things. I've not really ever delved into it much but I feel that I'm in need of positive energy and more enlightenment in my life. I'm not religious but I would say I'm most connected to things like Buddhism, Paganism and Wiccan philosophies. I'm really enjoying ur channel very much and I think this could be the start of something for me. I'm from the UK and I'm fortunate to be close to a place that is deep routed in Wicca and Witchcraft history which is The New Forest (I'm sure most witches knows of this place given its history) I would like to meet people who are interested in the same things and I've always had this yearning to be a part of something for myself and with others. I really feel this could be my path and I'm very grateful to have found your channel. You seem like a very kind and down to earth soul and I feel very relaxed by your videos which is what I need atm so thank you. I will look forward to watching more of your videos and figuring out the right path for myself : ) (I wrote this b4 I saw about the EDS and I just wanted to say that I really admire how open and honest u have been about it, Its very eye opening and I'm sure you are helping lots of people with your channel for many different reasons by sharing parts of your life story with us

I also have EDS but luckily I don't have the gastro stuff as bad as you. My body doesn't like food but I am able to still eat. That splint idea is amazing! I've been trying to think of ways to make my splints and braces more comfortable and fashionable. Unfortunately, my problem areas are my shoulders, knees and ribs. As well as the connective tissue in my nerves (can't really splint those). Thank you for making these videos. It may sound corny but they help me not give up. signed~ A fellow EDS herbalist green witch
