Walmart is only letting a certain number of shoppers in at the same time and I've been left high and dry with bread and eggs the last few times I've been there in the last mo. or so. So, I went to Food Lion the last time I went to town, went to one not used as much and got eggs (2 doz.) 2 bread loaves and the shelves were not as decimated as at Walmart. Got some fresh fruit and veggies. Spent more (appx $1 more for each doz. eggs and bread) but it was worth it to not have to go to Walmart and walk a country mile !! Hope this helps someone else. Sweet sister Becky my box full of great things came yesterday. I wasn't feeling well so my son who lives across the stree noticed the mailman coming up to my door with a box he sent my grandson's over to collect it they came in to tell me but I had taken my medicine I take when I get sick and was asleep. So they open the box and I put everything up for me. My son called me later that night and told me what it happened and he said the boys want to come over and tell you something I said of course. my grandsons that are 8 and 12 came over and they went on and on about the wonderful things that you had sent. They found the card you put in the box and they brought it to me and they said Grandma God helped her do this for you you. I read what you put on the card and thank you. My grandson's had such Big smiles on their faces and they were so happy for their grandmother. They said she sent so much you'll never have to get groceries again LOL Children don't get it their eyes are big and I said oh yes your grandmother is doing fine now. Becky you really impressed them and they talked on and on about how God helps all of us and he helped you to help me. I truly think that is so sweet God bless the little children and you and your family. Thanks so very much I greatly appreciate. Beckyit truly made my son very happy too because Becky he does everything he can to make sure I'm taken care of. Groceries are he has my three grandsons his wife and I always feel so bad putting them out and he feels bad that he can't do more. So again I want you to know my family really appreciates it.

Here's a tip I learned from a sourdough maker: when mixing the wet & dry, wear a pair of gloves (or not) and get your hands in there and 'squidge' the dough together. Just squeeze it a few times and it's totally mixed. It is so much simpler & faster and you don't work the gluten as much. Also, I don't know if you autolyse your dough (let it rest after you mix the wet & dry, but before kneading it), but that relaxes the gluten also, which all helps you have a softer dough that isn't overworked. I'm sure you already know this, but people watching may not. If it helps one person... :O) Have a great day & thank you for sharing your videos!

The one tip I learned from another was at beginning when add liquid to flour, I stir with handle end of medium length hard plastic spoon instead of whisk. Still have spatula to scrape bowl but much easier with spoon handle.

FOOD BOX UPDATE: THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL REQUESTS AND MORE ARE COMING IN. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN SEVERAL OF YOU OFFER TO HELP. HERE IS THE PLAN: IF YOU NEED FOOD POST A COMMENT AND GIVE YOUR HOME ADDRESS OR EMAIL SO YOU CAN BE CONTACTED, IF YOU DO NOT GET A REPLY IN 12 HOURS POST ANOTHER COMMENT. IF YOU CAN HELP PICK A COMMENT THAT DOES NOT HAVE A REPLY AND REPLY, GET THE ADDRESS AND TAKE CARE OF THAT PERSON. REPLY TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN HELP. SEND SHELF STABLE FOOD. YOU CAN USE THE PICTURE IN THE VIDEO AS A GUIDE (NOT EXACT SHOPPING LIST, GET WHAT YOU CAN FIND) FOLLOW UP WITH THE PERSON YOU ARE HELPING AND LET THEM KNOW IT IS ON THE WAY WE ARE ALL IN DIFFERENT STATES SOME EVEN IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. I THINK THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO DO THIS. IF YOU ARE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY POST YOUR COUNTRY IN YOUR COMMENT. I DON'T THINK INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING IS A POSSIBILITY, BUT GOD IS WORLD WIDE AND HOPEFUL SOMEONE WHERE YOU ARE CAN HELP. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS WITH GOD. In the first hour there were requests for 3 boxes of food. It video is 53 minutes. So in 10 minutes there were 3 requests. The need is great. I will send as much as I can get. If there are others who can get or have extra, if you could help God will bless you for blessing others. Wonderful news!!! There are others who are helping!!! If you need food leave a comment with your address and if you can help leave your e-mail address and I will forward the requests as they are left.

Becky, I want to help . My husband and I took groceries to a lady this afternoon and the story hurt my heart. She had one slice of bread to eat Sunday. She lives in an assisted living apartment and they have been on lock down. They serve them one meal per tries to stretch that lunch by saving part of it and eats the other part later. Here is my email address. Please let me know what I should put in a box and I will try to do as many as possible. I don't know if maybe they just cook lunch Monday thru Saturday. Here is my email address; just let me know what to send and who to send it to jsomers@bellsouth.net. I will do all that I can do. Blessings and love from Jo Ann in Mississippi

As I get requests I will forward addresses to you. I don't know how long we we be able to buy food. I am going shopping in the morning. I am going to use the stuff in the picture as a shopping guide, but will get what I can find. If you want to do the same and get a few boxes ready that would be wonderful. I packed all of that in a 12 x 12 x 6 box. I am getting ready to price shipping on the two that I have ready. Within 2 hours there were 6 requests. I have been away from the computer for awhile, I am getting ready to check that again as well. Thank you both God Bless You!!!

We have a decent amount of food but we have a family of 6 and are running out of flour, sugar and salt. We have had a cold so not wanting to go out and expose anyone else to it. The biggest thing we need help with is Easter for our four kids. They are 4, 7, 7, and 11 years old. They know Easter is to celebrate the Lord's Resurrection and they don't expect anything but it sure would be nice to see a big smile on their faces Easter morning. Sounds like you have a lot who are needing though. I greatly appreciate your care and concern for others!!!!

What a great way to share Easter with others. Bless you.

Becky, I have to thank you for your Homemade Bread video. I just started back to making bread after several decades. I wasn't very good at it back then. Ha! But your tips and hands-on explanations were a huge help. I watched it after a couple of batches on my own, which were "okay", but I felt I wasn't understanding it completely. I am more confident now and have continued making a couple of loaves a week. 😀

Love the baking lesson on baking bread. It's been so long that I have hand baked a white bread in the oven. My husband a few months ago around November, or December brought me a bread machine and I've made in two separate occasion white bread. I love your technique, it's very easy and inspiring. In the month of March my beloved husband got very ill due to the Coronavirus. Being diabetic, didn't helped him that much. Unfortunately ,with the ups and downs, on May 16th my beloved husband went with the Lord. Please pray for my family and I, I thank you so much. I seek and serve the Lord so dearly. I hope my children even though they are born-again, draw more closer to God study God's word and learn to trust in the Lord. Keep encouraging your subscribers more about God's Word it is very vital now with what this pandemic. May the Lord bless and strengthen you and household in God's path in Jesus' name is my prayer.

Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. God bless you!

Thank you for your special spin on bread. I've been making bread for quite a few years on and off, but have yet to find the perfect loaf for us. It's usually too dry the next day to be suitable for sandwiches, which makes it good for toast, bread crumbs, or fresh out of the oven. I have this recipe rising now. Maybe this is the one!
