And tell them they need your consulting expertise and they’d hire you in minutes of listening to your railroad knowledge. I’m sure there’s plenty of people in their companies good at their jobs but I’m sure they’ve never seen one person that knows as much about every job and every railroad in this country. God Bless you my friend. You’re something special.

@3:13....I always wondered bout a lightning strike on any part of the train, or even the rail. I asked maybe 2 years ago but no one replied. Maybe its got so much to travel it dissipates. Unless your like in the close proximity its might be too much to handle.

I know what you mean by that super loud noise, Shoestring. When I was a kid, I lived in Biloxi Mississippi when Hurricane Camille came through. We sheltered in a classroom building at Keesler AFB (my dad was in the USAF and was an instructor there). These buildings don't have windows because the materials they teach in them are classified, so it was fairly safe. I remember at one point in the middle of the night I needed to use the men's room. The men's room was where one of only two windows in the building were located (the other being the women's room). The window was about six inches square and was mounted way up high in a corner of the room. The sound of the rain hitting that tiny window was so loud that you couldn't hear anything else. In fact, someone could have been screaming as loud as they could an inch from your ear and you wouldn't have been able to hear them.

Great Video. Been meaning to ask ever since your video about “Riding the Rails”. Literally.... you videoed a shot under the rail car and talked about watching for Bulls. I have heard about if stuck somewhere too narrow to let a train pass you could lay on the tracks and let a train pass over. Seems to me that would be a rather dumb thing to do since if a mile long train passed over SOMETHING would grab ya and turn you into a mile long red streak.
