@@davidgass7232 species differences mean that they can’t mate and produce non-sterile offspring. However half-dwarves and half-elves are not sterile. So they are races in the traditional sense.

Yea I figured the stealhelms were on 25s because they look smaller in the box art when compared to the heros in the box set and also GW said that you could proxy the discontinued models as them which would only work if they are the same base size

I think you did the dark riders and hydra dirty. Hit and run units are fun. Regen 5 wounds a COMBAT PHASE is insane, they don't even have to deal damage or be in combat, they just heal.

Think you have missed out quite a bit on the drakespawn chariots. They seem really good to me honestly, they are really cheap (90 points each) and do an average of 3 mortal wounds to whatever they charge. If that unit is near a drake spawn knight its an average of 4.67 mortal wounds. If you have an entire unit of three thats an expected 14 mortal wounds from the charge. They also count for "charge with at least three aelf units" battle tactic, as well as the one for capturing an objective from an opponent using charging mounted models. On another note, I can't see anything stopping Lethis from making the witch hunter heroes unique priests, which means that particularly the Van Denst's are a cheap way to get additional priests.

And here l thought after years of waiting l will get to play my dwarfs again. No canons, no flame canons, no crossbowman, no thunderers , no anvil of doom. All units are bad version of human units. Meanwhile elves got three books

I've been looking at my DoK again and Sorceress + Guard is a good screen for them, and you can have 1 Sorceress buff 2 units of Guard to screen a pretty big chunk of army. (Which stabby snakes can fight over the top of...) The Kharibdyss is also a nice addition to DoK. Still I'm pretty happy that the idea of running Dark Aelves in Cities is actually viable. Also the real job of Dark Aelve spearmen is to sacrifice themselves to buff the casting of the Sorceress. :)

I think from the tier list and the combos discussed, the book is actually much less human-centric than you first stated Rob! One combo I was thinking of was the Warden King having a retinue fight-when-he-fights rule combos nicely with Shieldwall as it means the hammerers he is with won't have to strike last.

I think to review something so complicated you have approach it from different angles!! That's why I do this. Also when you can have a mixed army they don't interact as units so still feel separate

It definitely reads like that you have to effectively do separate mini armies if you go into other races, and that's only going to be worth doing if the other race does something that 30 fusiliers can't do, lol@@thehonestwargamerstreams

I run 2 ogres right now and I will always have atleast 1, greywater fastness And make him general master of ballistics for plus 1 to wound on all out attacks he gives and the extra 3inch range while wholly in 12 of him artifact, giving and potential 33inch range to your fusiliers, I believe that's incredible worth atleast having one in a shooting based army

Think you were a bit hard on the Luminark of hysh. I don't think it's a stretch that the model can hit 2-3 units each shot. However, with the countershoot Order, you can shoot wherever you like. And with an unleash hell, the same applies. So during one round you have potential 2-3d3 mortal wounds that can snipe a character hiding behind look out sir. And probably hitting the bodyguard unit aswell. Combine that with pontifex and your opponent can say goodbye to hiding heroes :).

I think dreadlord on black dragon should move up at least a tier. I don't think the fleetmaster's ability and the command trait stack, so you can do 2 mortals on a 1, and 1 on a miss that isn't a 1. But the dreadlord on black dragon can also take that command trait, and is way more mobile so you can probably get it into those units that will delete themselves way more effectively. He also turns drakespawn knights into battleline. Not enough to be effective, but I definitely think he's usable.

yes, doesn't stack. 1 trigger give you 1 effect - you just choose 1 of them if triggered 2 or more

The only reason the Freeguild Marshal with relic envoy is good is because he’s cheap. That’s it. Yes, being able to either get an extra heroic action or issue a command to a unit for free is nice, but his heroic action is bad because it has too many stipulations and can only be used once per game. If his points increase even a little bit then his value will plummet. Talia is too expensive. Her 4+ rally is situational and requires her to be in combat, which you don’t want her to be in with anything that isn’t chaff, she can’t fight other monsters well at all, and her monstrous action only affects other monsters, and then can only be used on a monster that charged her. So again, situational. She needs to be 280-300 points to be viable, I think. For 70 points less you can take a Freeguild Marshal on Gryphon and get a hero monster that that does equivalent if not better damage, has a better monstrous rampage, and still gets the same ability to issue 2 orders as her.

Warforger's spell ADD 1 mortal for each 6+ on hit. It's ludicrous!! 2 Warforgers+ Zanastra+ 30 Fussiliers+ Mastro Vivetti’s Magnificent Macroscope + Master of Ballistics. You are looking at 60 attacks/3+/3+/-1 Rend/ +1 mortal on 6 to hit ( avarage of about 20 wounds on 3+ armor) with a threat range of 24"+ 5" (movement) +2" (Zanastra) +3" (Order) + 3" ( artefacts) = 37" !!!! So you basically can hit everywhere and delete a unit each turn. And than they have a 3+(2+ with Mistic shield) save and a 5+ ward. Nurgle tank level. I think they will be nerfed..

Maybe OG old world peeps will pillory me for this, but I feel like this book would be 100% less disappointing if they'd just made the units mixed species and binned all the old elves and dwarves to the old world. They wouldn't even really need more warscrolls than they revealed, just mix up the figures with some elves and dwarves and include advanced ally rules (which they played with in the Fyreslayers book anyhow).

It's worth noting that the dark aelf spell can be resisted by spell ignore abilities since it does affect their save. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's how it reads to me. So the executioners with the spell and ignoring ward can't kill anything but also can because dice rolls

It kinda hurts my brain seeing dark elves in cities of sigmar and not high/wood elves. Like what is going on there? It feels like it has all been fumbled so strangely. With the narrative stuff they did before, just put dark elves as another city in DOK or something. Otherwise elves and dwarves should just have their own allegiances and army books if they are gonna half-ass putting them in cities. I feel like marketing is running the idea, so the creative/narrative side is suffering and looking silly. Anyway, it feels weird to me. Like the book is not really pleasing the side who want AoS 'classic' cities, and not pleasing the side who want a new faction. It's like sitting awkwardly on the fence.

Argument for flagellants: currently, command corps can heal the same unit multiple times and stack on top of each other. 2 by 30 flagellants, multiple commands bringing back 3d3 or 6d3 to a unit, with 5+ rally and 5+ ward is legit. Command corps also deals with battle shock issues. Also with a warforger and their 2" reach, a unit of 30 can throw out 90 attacks with 6s causing mortals. It's not as good as buffing fussils but it's 15MW in combat and another 10MW if you kill the unit, and if you don't wipe them out a whole bunch are coming back.

Cities can ally with the other Order factions really easy so you should be able to ally well

I'mma disagree on the Gyrocopter. He's Useable and if he kept his 16" move he'd have been Effective if not Most Effective. It's job is a cheap af objective grabber, teleport blocker, battle tactic grabber etc. not as a damage dealer though when his attacks was based on models within range he was a clutch horde clearer as well. The day GW put him up from 75 to 80pts literally ruined my life for a week as all my lists were broken. Now he can still do all his original jobs, just not as well, so Useable. A 3 pack of these lads are also going to put of a pretty punishing amount of attacks.

Not at all. Honestly Dwarfs are arguably the true anvil units in this book as nothing in Humans comes close to anything like an Ironbreaker line in pure durability.

your videos are always full of exagerated statements only for clickbaits, but please dont do any table like this... hammerers do double the dmg with double rend than every infantry in the game, and they are " useable" yes sure, so every infantry in game must be absolutly useless on that standar. elf charriot being able to do huge amount of mortals really cheap is also useless... steam tank being exactly as a bastiladon but doing 5 times more dmg and being able to save at 2 invulnerable is also bad.... longbears being elite infantry but again with double rend and a neat ability also bad..... they are better than seraphon warspawn kroxis and cost 40p cheaper dude.... or hurricanun version that do mortals in a huge line, even on defensive line.... and could go on, like half units are absolutly wrongly placed for sure
