getting the tapped holes perfect is as simple as having both hands on the drill to keep it stable and using a cutting lubricant on the tap. I've been doing that for decades at my job. It just takes practice and repetition my friend. keep at it, you'll get it.

Absolutely outstanding!!!!!! The design is brilliant! I particularly like how you've also been able to incorporate a feature to mount a table saw and router into the welding table. I'm working on a redesign for my garage as a personal maker space and was originally considering two separate tables for woodwork and metalwork which causes some space issues. But your design combines both together with minimal fuss in setup. Very inspiring. Love it! (now subscribed).

Just brilliant, one of the best welding table I've seen in 38 years.And I would add a shelf,full width or even half shelves each side staggered,make a frame & use some steel mesh,(size of the mesh squares depends what shelf is used for) & it doesn't collect the dust so much,as a solid sheet.

This fantastic creation of yours has just caused me to give away my 4x9 assembly table which has served me well over the years and build a welding table-assembly table hybrid! Outstanding ideas implemented into this thing of beauty. Well off to the bank to assault my retirement funds for this idea. @@TheMetalist i have made alot of welding tables and one thing i find really helpful is a right angle on your x and y axis the full length made out of 1x1 that is drilled and tapped and attached to table that can be removed when needed it just gives you a good starting point, look foward to seeing your next video

Looks good but I think you may have trouble with weld spatter and small chips constantly getting in your threads on the holes on the top of the table. You may want to keep set screws in them when not in use to protect the threads.

splatter protection spray (or some sort of consistent grease I suppose) could prevent them from sticking too hard

This is friggin fantastic bro. I'm a joiner who does some welding & the fact you used the wood saw & router add-ons is quality. Not to mention how much space we never have lol. Thanks for sharing. RESPECT

Looks great! Two suggestions - 1) Make yourself a "vertical" jig for getting those taps dead straight 2) Consider copper caps for the clamps before the plastic melts off ;)

the tapping is straight. it just looks canted because of postproduction lens correction
