That’s pretty much a direction Nickelodeon was going, the very bad direction they’re in right now, with their the last remaining Nicktoon from the golden age, Spongebob. If they choose Adventure Time over Jeffy & Leafy, (I call them instead of Fanboy & Chum Chum.) then the network would’ve been different, like shift their focus on Nicktoons instead of their live action series. It would’ve been complete with Spongebob and Fairy OddParents in the ratings. It would’ve been the game changer to open many possibilities. But no, they choose Jeffy & Leafy to be the next Spongebob, it failed misery. The series brings Nickelodeon to it’s downfall.

Back when I was younger this show was okay it was far from great icarly was better but it was okay as I got older it went from okay to mediocre. I tend to think of this show as a kid-friendly version of Beavis and Butthead. In fact, I'm amazed there aren't more people who think of this show as a Beavis and Butthead ripoff. Both shows star two young morons who have no parents/guardians and are still able to afford a home, aggravate the hell out of most people around them and eat lots of junk food. I for one don't think of this show as a ripoff per se, but I can't blame anyone for thinking it is one.

I felt the same with Fanboy and Chum Chum, it really is bad but it's one of those bad shows that's fascinating to watch. I'm also glad you pointed out how this show has some production value, I really admire the ad style silhouettes in a CG setting. It was probably that kind of ambition that got the show greenlit and compare that to Adventure Time short that was made for Random! Cartoons (a followup to Oh Ya Cartoons) which TBH didn't look very good before they up the quality for Cartoon Network. I could at least understand the network's desition as the pitch probably showed a lot of potential and ambition. Unfortunately, it was the writing that makes the show terrible. I could understand people not liking the visual but you gotta respect how they tried to push the medium for a CG tv show. If only the show had decent writing then it might be on the same decent level as Season 1 of Jhonny Test. I'm guessing it might have been the lack of quality writers due to the strike strike that cause the show to be as bad as it is. That all being said, when it was playing on TV, It was a bad show that was enjoyable and acually had a few jokes that landed.

I despised the shit out of this when it first came out, but upon watching several episodes it honestly wasn't that bad. When it was wasn't wasting time trying to be gross and immature, it could actually be kind of clever. Hell, my mom isn't a fan of animation and even she laughed at some of the jokes.

I feel like if this was a show that aired on Nick Jr instead of the normal Nickelodeon channel it wouldn’t have gotten the overwhelming amount of hate that it did, because given how it *feels* like a Nick Jr show it makes it really look like a huge outcast in Nickelodeon’s lineup, it makes everyone stop and go “Why the hell is *THIS* on the same network as SpongeBob or Danny Phantom?” If it was on Nick Jr people would’ve simply ignored it because none of these people would’ve bothered watching something on that channel and thus it would’ve just been another show that none of us really knew existed like most of Nick Jr’s content, and so I think the horrible reputation it has is entirely due to it being a part of the main Nickelodeon channel, because now you see it alongside great shows like SpongeBob, Fairly Oddparents and Jimmy Neutron and it just confuses people to no end

I'll never forget this one memory I have in relation with this show... During this show's run, My sister and I were watching Nickelodeon and we saw an Ad for Fanboy And Chum-Chum; first time my sister had ever seen an ad for this show, and it's clear she didn't get it. After hearing the title, she turned to me, blinked three times and simply asked, "Chum-Chum?" It was one of the funniest moments of our time together.

Literally the only compliments I can give this are the fact that the 3D animation could honestly be considered as good with better designs. That, and the designs of Fanboy and Chum Chum maybe could’ve been decent if put in much more capable hands. And I mean the designs of the two main characters, not the rest of them.

I was pretty indifferent towards Fanboy amd Chum-Chum. I won't say I this show in anyway, but I also didn't know the massive hate it got. At the very least I thought of it as mild stupid annoyance to avoid, But yeah I can understand that when you pass up a show like Adventure Time for this, it's going to rub people the wrong way. The one praise I'll give it is that the animation was pretty bouncy and lively for a show done in CG.

I'm still pretty neutral to positive on this show, the Pet Sematary parody with the Tamagotchi episode was pretty good, but regarding Chum Chum's voice its also Numbah 5 from KND and Sticks the Badger from Sonic Boom the later of which is annoyingly obvious because she weirdly shares his color scheme.

This sounds weird, but I always had a soft-spot for this show. Maybe it was because it legitimately distracted me from a lot of shitty things I was going through (middle school), or maybe it's that I just have a "taste" for this sort of stuff, but honestly it was a guilty pleasure. In the same way Dragon Tales was. It was funny, a bit cutting edge, colorful, unique, did a lot of new things, and while it was annoying, it at least blended with the background of what it was trying to do. Maybe I'll watch some Fanboy and ChumChum again.

This show was a guilty pleasure for me as a kid. While I don't really like it now, I still have to say I like the art style and some of the side characters (Boog is a legend and you can't tell me otherwise), and I don't think it deserved as much hate as it got.

Confession time: I fucking loved this show. It’s guilty of throwing shit at the wall until it sticks, but they’re throwing a lot of it very quickly. I still laugh at certain clips. Also, the animation isn’t bad. It’s way better than it has any right to be. It’s fast, bouncy, and wacky enough for the pace of the show. They really push the expressions and other motions the characters do. Would I call it a good show? No. Would I call it strangely underrated? Yes.

Fanboy and ChumChum feels like a weak attempt to rip off the very popular Captain Underpants books among kids at the time, the main characters George and Harold. If you want an enjoyable version of Fanboy and ChumChum check out the Epic Tales of Captain Underpants on Netflix. It’s incredibly self aware and stupid in the best way possible. Plus the animation changes are some of the most creative I’ve ever seen.

I think they picked the name "Fanboy" to emphasize that he's not supposed to be seen as cool, but as the dorky, comic obsessed weird kid at his school. That's kinda the point lol. Chum chum, I'm not sure about.
