Please keep this segment going, love seeing how the pros set up their boards! I really appreciate anyone who goes into detail about their wheelbase as it relates to their height. Helpful stuff that no one really talked about a few years ago.

For most people that just skate "casually" for lack of a better term, most of this doesn't really matter but it's always interesting to see the pros figuring out their setups and working to make everything as consistent as possible and tailored to not only their bodies but the skating they do too.

Trucks make a huge difference. Indy’s vs Thunder’s can make the pop timing and feel completely different. Mellow and steep tails can mess up even a beginner’s skating. Indy’s and a steep tail makes for tons of ghost pop, but with Thunders it’s perfect.

@finnmcginn9931 Жыл бұрын
@@alexnelson8 i feel dumb for asking but what is ghost pop?
@theskateprofessor Жыл бұрын
@@finnmcginn9931 Ghost pop is when you go to pop a trick and the pop never hits. Things like height of truck, steepness of tail, size of wheels, wheelbase and riser pads cause the pop to hit at different times. When you get used to the way your board pops and you change something that makes it hit later you often get ghost pop until you re-figure out the timing
