In Storm of Swords Littlefinger offers Sansa a pomagranite, the fruit that Hades used to trap Persephone in the underworld for half of every year. She turned it down, and ate a pear instead. When Arya was warging Nymeria and the pack was eating dead people, Arya/Nymeria wouldn't eat human flesh, and went after a crow instead. But Bran! You drank the Kool-Aid! No! No!

The interesting thing about this is that under normal circumstances when a person sleeps the first four hours it is the deepest that they will sleep until they wake. This is because it's the restorative part of the process. After that the body goes inbetween a steadily lighter sleeping state and an awake one, with the last few hours in particular being reserved for dreaming. Although Bran had obviously been in a fall (meaning he was not able to go between sleeping and waking), the fact that he is dreaming at all suggests that the body had done most of the restorative work ready for Bran to wake from his coma. If the crow hadn't turned up at all, Bran very likely would have woken up a short time later anyway. The Crow is indeed a tricksy bird...

(tyrion to Sansa) A Storm of Swords - Sansa VI I don't own any castles, and my queen wears furs and amber, not silk and sapphires. I am my own champion, my own fool, and my own harpist. (Mance to Jon) A Storm of Swords - Jon X yet mance plays a lute when jon first meets him, why mention the harp? because he's arthur dayne! and "a harp can be dangerous as a sword, in the right hands" is referring to arthurs skill with a two handed sword. all links in, works on two levels, songs are dangerous heard by the wrong ears, but also it works in reference to Mances prowess with a 2 handed sword double meanings, it would be awfully in-complex if everything had a singular meaning

Ned Dayne of the young lord of starfall tells Arya that Ned stark and his aunt lady ashara fell in love at harrenhal. He then says Jon's mother is wylla and that he and Jon are milk brothers. The common belif is that a stark dishonored ashara at harrenhall. She last danced with Ned stark who she danced with twice. It's common knowledge lady ashara was pregnant before the end of Robert's rebellion. However they say she commited suicide by jumping into the ocean when Ned returned dawn. They also say she had a still born girl. Now most wetnurses are lactating because they just had a child. So with that in mind allow me to clarify the truth about Jon snow and young Griff. Young Griff Is rhegar and lyannas child at the tower of joy. Septa Lemoore who is with young Griff in essos is ashara Dayne Wylla the wetnurse had a still born daughter which is why she was a wetnurse in the first place. She was at the tower of joy to help with the birth. Sometime Atfer harrenhal Ned got ashara pregnant and promptly married her, just like rob did Ashara gave birth to Jon snow just before the events at the tower of joy Arthur Dayne tells Ned that she had a son when they meet at the tower Ned returns dawn to starfall accompanied by Wylla, her stillborn daughter,and young Griff with his targ features. Ashara shows Jon to Ned, Ned shows her young Griff who is being nursed by Wylla. To keep his promise to lyanna and to hide the marriage between him and Ashara,(he has already married cat by now ) ashara takes young Griff into hiding. Next the news is spread that ashara had a still born girl and they used wyllas still born girl Ashara Dayne fakes her death (they never found her body) heads to essos with young Griff with the help of varys who some how finds out about what happened. Wylla stays with Ned nurses baby Jon back to winterfell (when rob and cat get to winterfell Jon and his wetnurse are already there. And Jon grew up in winterfell so Wylla had to be there for a while as well This all fits the Robert's. Rebellion time line as well with 9 to 11 months from Ned and the fisherman's daughter at sisterton to Ned returning dawn to starfall. Wylla tells Cait about ashara Dayne and Ned sends her back to starfall. This happens 3 years into the marriage cat even remembers it this would also be 2 years before eldric Dayne is born allowing for travel time back to starfall . Meaning it fits the timelines and explains why her name was nver said again in winterfell The half maester with young griff was winter fells maester the bastard son of arch maester walgrave from the patent chapter. Hence the name half maester Thus making Jon Ned's only true born son, able to be the sword of the morning (Which Is in lyannas t Crypt statue), and the rightfull lord of winterfell When Jon joins the watch and Ned goes south there's no stark in winter fell rob and Rickon are snows. This also marks the point when everything went shifty for the starks specificly all the snows. Jon got off easy compared to the rest of his siblings I'm anxious to see someone shoot this down...

I like it, but a couple of questions: 1) So Cat *knows* that Jon is Ashara's? Or did you mean Wylla just told Cat about Ned and Ashara dancing? 2) Why is Haldon a half-Maester if he was already Winterfell's *full* Maester? And please remind me again, why was Ashara in the Vale with Ned again? I forget. Cheers
@shaunrogers88114 жыл бұрын
In answer to ur question cats father forced bed and John Arryn to marry his daughters or he would not join there side of the rebellion. This is what caused the black fish to decide to leave. Further more yes cat knew or most likely suspected John was Asharas, the wet nurse was from house Dayne and when cat asked ned about Ashara he responded by yelling not to ask him about John

However he changed his mind and removed that part completely before publication. He stated that he did not want the gods to appear at all during the series.

3 eyed crow is Leyton Hightower with a glass candle. He gave Euron the same falling dream and Euron became his apprentice. Theres some weird connection between Hightowers and Ironborn that I havent been able to puzzle out yet but I think the original ironborn may have been Hightower bastards. The first Hightower was Uthor and after that theres a number of examples urrigon and other variarions of it which also show up plenty with the Ironborn. Euron's alter ego in Essos is Urrathon Nightwalker. Put it all together and I think Euron's gonna be like some kind of apprentice puppet to Leyton Hightower. Most think hes gonna destroy Oldtown but I think theyre gonna join forces.

We see Martin to be a person extremely resourceful in histories of the world. He is likely to pick up the most interesting and suitable instances from all over the world, like Scotland and India. As per Indian mythology, the identity of the Destroyer God from the Trinity of creation, sustenance and destruction has been defined as being three-eyed, i.e. Lord Shiva. It is known that whenever he opened his third eye, he brought destruction to the world of men. Maybe that is exactly what Bran is destined to do in the series. He's new with his powers, very young to be owning such massive power and honestly doesn't have a lot of wisdom either.

Hi there. Great video, again :-) So, like almost everyone else I thought the 3 eyed crow was Bloodraven. But you(ve convinved me that it's not, and that it's most probably evil. That got me thinking about this popular theory that Mance sent the Catspaw to kill Bran. I thought it was possible, but I never found a plausible motive to explain why he'd try to kill Bran. Well, if Mance is truly Arthur, and if he's in league with Melisandre, then it could be that Mel somehow (glass candle, maybe?) knew that the 3 eyed crow was trying to take control of Bran, and then convinced Mance that they should not let it happen (a powerful warg with Stark blood would obviously be a great asset for the Great Other). What do you guys think?
@BiteThis6 жыл бұрын
I believe shiera seastar is the three-eyed crow. I think she seduced both bloodraven and bittersteel to put them against each other on purpose. Bittersteel gave shiera bloodraven's eye as a gift to win her affection and prove himself better than bloodraven. After she acquired the eye she used it in blood magic and became the three eyed crow. Once bloodraven found out she betrayed him he began to work against her. Crows and ravens are both members of the corvidae species, close relatives, just like bloodraven and shiera. I think shiera and bloodraven are fighting over bran, to use him against each other.

Yeah see I think that passage in the ACOK Jon chapter where Jon dreams of being in a wolf and then seeing Bran in a tree wasn't Bran actually reaching out to Ghost. For one thing, Jon was beyond the wall at that point with Bran still in the crypts at Winterfell, so I feel like the magic barrier the wall poses should be consistent with Bran unable to reach an animal past it. But also, and more importantly since that magic barrier seems to effect wargs but possibly not Greenseers, during that passage where everyone assumes Jon reaches Ghost in his dream and talks to Bran in a tree, the author states that the wolf Jon is in howls to his brothers and sister. He even specifically mentions how the sound of that call bounces around and sounds lonely or sad. So, if he's truly sharing Ghost with Bran during that dream, this is the ONLY time that Ghost has ever made a sound and contradicts other passages in the books where Jon says Ghost is drawn to high places but will never howl once on them. Then right after Bran touches him in the tree, at that point, he's shot over to "another" wolf that we definitely know is Ghost because his feet are deep in snow, he's spying on the wildling camp and he's them attacked by Orells eagle. And it's later confirmed that wasn't a dream at all when Jon finds Ghost laying in the snow with eagle wounds. So I think that somehow the first wolf dream that Jon sees Tree Bran in was actually some type of glass candle like dream and not Jon and Bran sharing Ghost. I originally thought that it was actually Jon reaching Summer and them sharing him before Jon is shot off to his own wolf. But that doesn't make sense either with the wall between both of them. Unless somehow Jon managed to greensee thru to the future when Bran made it beyond the wall and it was actually future Tree Bran in that passage communicating with Jon. Of course, this could be just a simple mistake on the authors part with either him forgetting Ghost never howls or that the wall is a warg barrier. I have a feeling that a ton of these theories people come up with are based on a lot of in depth logic and reasoning of the text and rules of the world, when really much of it is just George forgetting how some of his magic/characters are supposed to work.

Still love everything you do, keep up the great work. Though I think you have it backwards, the three eyed crow is waking the hidden old powers of true kings blood. the one true king the King in the North who's name is Stark. Gathering up the leaders of the Green Hand, to fight the next coming winter. Like how the children made the WW, so two the old gods make the Starks protectors for the realm. I think of the three eyes crow as the grim reaper (death), he is not good or evil, his job is to carry souls to the other side, but as soon as the WW wake, so too does his need to wake the protectors. forcing them to open their eye to the powers the gods bestowed upon them. Tin foil hat ready, the crypts of Winterfell are another gateway to the realm of the old gods, like the house of Black and White and the cave in the North, they are there to train those to fight to others, why they spring into action as soon as the deserter says the whites have returned. Everything in GRRM is circular, as a history buff you live and die by the phrase "those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it." in his world it happened before and it will happen again, fail safes were put into place by "Those who remember" to make sure when the past comes back they will be ready to do what men must. "All men must serve" and they serve one of the old gods Death, not good or bad, just is something all men must face , but hopefully "Not Today"

For the love of god, don't give him magic. It would be easier to have him provide everything Joff needs. Start with small animals like cats and dogs encourage it, coddle the boy's sadism. Then say, "Why not a man? or a sick boy?" Joff would jump at it.

and how was LF supposed to know that Bran would fall before they left, and how did Joffrey find a cutthroat to do the job? the circumstances worked out too perfectly for LF for him not to be involved in some way
@peterwindhorst57755 жыл бұрын
A spy among the King's retinue can keep LF informed of Bran's fall. The same spy could be the one that is the cutthroat. The said cutthroat could be providing Joff with the cats and other small animals to be abused - Joff never knowing that the cutthroat is on LF payroll to keep the boy happy.

The Crow told Bran he'd die when he hit the ground. What if Bran really experienced death after his fall? Just like Dany was reborn with her dragons from the funeral pyre, necessitating that she must have *died.* I've been wondering for some time if there were more than ice wights and fire wights. I thought there might be a death wight. What if it's Bran? Literally animated by death. Jon smells death on him. And if he really does get the throne, does that mean that the people are ruled by Death itself? Is George trying to say that we are all ruled by death in the end (of our lives)?

Nothing in the text states that Daenerys died in the flames. Bran couldn’t have died from the fall unless everything after that is all in Bran’s Head

Can I ask, cuz I'm genuinely curious and would appreciate any answers for this theory I've concocted. There are a number of other dreamers who'd failed to fly and been impaled upon impact and, obviously, died. Either the crow is manipulating Bran by creating this vision of the "dead dreamers" to scare Bran into opening his third eye and fly. Or those dreamers are real and the crow has tried for countless times to do what it did with Bran. I don't see a grey area for these possibilities. If the first is true that only strengthens the theory that the crow is actually a malevolent being bent to use Bran for evil. If the second is true it also strengthens the basis of the crow being malevolent, not only in manipulation but in that it has tried omce for every dreamers corpse to make a pawn like it did with Bran; killing each of them. But if this second one is right that also shows that Bran is somehow special: that his Stark blood, his Wargdom, makes him especially suited for the tasks the crow would use him for...I would luv an answer for which one could be right. Discuss at ur leassure.

I see some parallels between what Bloodraven & The three-eyed crow are doing to Bran and what the kindly man is doing to Arya in order to awaken their abilities. While teaching him to skin change ravens, Bloodraven tells Bran "Never fear the darkness, Bran. Darkness will be your cloak, your shield, your mother's milk. Darkness will make you strong."(Bran III, ADWD-p450). Later on in the same chapter, after eating his Jojen paste, when Bran enters weirwood roots for the first time, the children extinguished all the torches in the cavern and once engulfed by darkness Bran goes into the roots. So again, we see a new power emerging once darkness is embraced. Which brings me to Arya, in the House of Black and White. The kindly man takes her sight, thereby forcing Arya to live in a state of constant darkness. He claims this is punishment for killing the singer from the Night's Watch, and later says that he would have taken her eyes anyway as part of her training. I believe that to be a partial truth. I think the kindly man has a different set of rules for this girl with magical blood. Like Bloodraven with Bran, the kindly man is trying to awaken Arya's magic. In The Blind Girl I, ADWD, Arya asks the waif how long she had to be blind. The waif tells her "Until darkness is as sweet to you as light". This sounds an awful lot like what Bloodraven said to Bran. While in this induced darkness, Arya skin changes a cat, which enables her to "see without being seen". Awfully reminiscent of what Bran tells Jon he likes about the darkness. This new found skill also enables Arya to see that the person who'd been hitting her was the kindly man. When Arya told the kindly man she knew it was him, her sight was returned. So it would seem like this was always the kindly man's end game. Based off your assertion that the Faceless Men are servants of the great other, as w/the 3EC, I think the Great Other is manipulating the Stark children so that Mankind can't use their abilities to stop him in the wars to come.

I'm still trying to make sense of it all, as I feel like Bran has been misled by the 3 eyed crow and I still wonder if Bloodraven wasn't somehow The Great Other's prisoner as why couldn't he see it or tell Bran that he wasn't the 3 eyed crow and to stay away from him? I think Jojen and Mirra are good people, but have been misled as well, but their father knows the backstory of some important things and some think he's been at the Gods Eye now waiting for the right time to go into action (or maybe he's a prisoner too?), so why would he send his kids to Bran if he's on the side of good yet the Great Other could be behind the 3rd eye phenomenon? What does it mean that the Great Other wants Bran so much to open his 3rd eye unless he is planning on stealing Bran's body to live again that way (either the Great Other or the original Night's King in the books) as an all powerful being? Some have said maybe Bloodraven wants to take over Bran's body since he's about to die, so he lured him there since he sensed his great warging powers. And then some think Bran could've been Rholh'r but if so, then that either means The Great Other and Rholh'r are two sides of the same coin, if the Great Other is the one responsible for Bran's powers.... Yet then why fight each other, unless all they ultimately want is man's destruction in the process? - or maybe Bran realized who the Great Other was then went back and affected time as Rholh'r as a way to stop him? I still mistrust the COTF too in their true intentions in all of this. I'm still not sure if they're like how they're portrayed in the show where they regret creating the WWs and now are trying to help stop them (again) yet the timing of them creating them in the first place is suspicious too. They seemed to really hate the men for a time, and the men still destroyed many of their weirwoods, and still seem to be suspicious of those "gods" and keep them far away from most castles.

Remember Dante's Inferno: Lucifer is at the center of hell, and the flapping of his wings is causing the most intense cold imaginable. It seems likely that the heart of winter is Lucifer himself (or the Great Other, whatever it actually is, here in ASOIAF). I believe that Bran's journey mirrors in some ways Dante's journey through hell, with Jojen first, then Bloodraven assuming the role of Virgil. Also remember that Lucifer has three heads in Dante's Inferno, which could be a parallel to the three eyes of the crow. Will Bran's journey end up like Dante's? After hell, will he go through purgatory and then visit heaven? I'd love to see that.

Hey ya'll. Awesome video as always. I was thinking about where you might be going with Bran's dream and experience with the three eyed crow. You seem to be focusing on Brans terror and how "his tears burned his face". Wouldn't that be a GRRM way of saying it was so cold that Bran's warm tears seemed to burn? The kind of cold our characters experience when there is an "other" around?

Another interesting thing about the three-eyed crow's methods and how it shows Bran all the world stretched before him, tries to goad and pressure him to do what it says, and whispers all these promises reminds me of something from the New Testament. I know it sounds cliché, but the three-eyed crow operates very much like Satan in his temptation of Christ. In the gospel accounts, Christ is meditating in the desert for forty days after his baptism by John; he is tired, hungry, totally alone, and readying himself to face his inevitable death on the cross that draws ever closer. Satan appears and tries to trick Christ into behavior that is contrary to his nature as the Son of God, and thereby undermine his mission to save humanity. First, Satan tries to goad him by telling him to prove who he is and turn the rocks into loaves of bread to sate his hunger. In the second attempt, Satan takes him to the top of the Temple and tells him to jump because it is said the angels would catch him. Finally, Satan takes Christ to a mountaintop (or, rather, a "high place" as it says in the text) and shows him all the world and the kingdoms of men spread out before him and promises to give them to Christ if he will but fall down and worship him. It's just a little thing that occurred to me while watching this, but it felt like it resonated well with the themes of the video. It's all in the way that the three-eyed crow speaks and the way it seems to prey on young, vulnerable people experiencing a great deal of emotional/physical pain or who are close to death. The way it's clearly been using twisted people like Euron Crow's Eye and possibly even Littlefinger (from what I've seen in some of your other videos) by making promises to fulfil whatever twisted desires they have or deceiving lost and innocent souls like Bran, Arya, and Jojen in order to accomplish its own ends, is very much in keeping with Satan's modus operandi from a Christian perspective.

Okay... so it dawns on me that during all of this, there is a time when Hodor will NOT go down into the crypts... and GRRM says it was just for that period of time. He goes down before and after... so what exactly was going on? Maester Luwin had Osha carry Bran down into the crypts... where they are scared out of their minds by Rickon and Shaggy Dog. Shaggy Dog even bites Maester Luwin. Later, when Bran is in Summer, he sees a winged snake while in the God's Wood... just for a moment, and then it was gone. Seems to me like SOMETHING woke up and escaped the crypts somehow... or SOMETHING happened. What are your thoughts on how that series of events fits with this whole process of learning to use his 3rd eye. Bran didn't naturally have it. He doesn't have red or green eyes... the crow had to give it to him. What is up with that? ... compared to the other Stark children who are all supposed to be wargs... but maybe not greenseers?
