I have to agree with all the comments, TOGR is the only channel I subscribe too and the only channel where all the videos are great. The honesty of the channel also plays a huge roll for me and is what keeps me watching. Luke is an honest person and has always kept TOGR an honest channel. In these times of misinformation and deception Luke and TOGR are a breath of fresh air. There is no honor without honesty, as Luke would say "Strength and Honor everyone."

Luke, I marvel at your videography. You are masterfully precise with your camera angles and how one shot feeds into the next. You have commented in previous episodes that filming takes a lot of time and I believe it. Each episode looks like you have someone filming for you. You are also a great story-teller and educator, which makes watching your videos very enjoyable. Stay well and know you are appreciated.

Rambling on here about a few other things. Ain't it AMAZING just how much a few simple items can help the comfort of your trip. How these thru hikers can overlook the value of a lightweight camping chair is beyond me; a good chair to sit in at night is absolutely WORTH the weight it adds. For us older folks, the cot up off the ground is SOOOOOO much more appreciated than sleeping on the ground. It's hard to get up off the ground as you age; that cot just adds a ton of comfort to the whole experience. Also, the table. Just 38 bucks at Amazon and you have a place to set drinks, a place to cook, to assemble and work on stuff at. The basics of camping STILL come down to a few ergonomic items that help the human experience-- a nice little table: a good shelter from the rain; a good place to sit WITH back support; and a nicer bed to sleep in. IN all your vids, you have come to the nirvana of the equation, Luke. Those little things MATTER.

Hi Luke, thanks for making and sharing your passion for the outdoors. Very enjoyable video, as usual. I always spread a big tarp over my whole campsite, I've had enough experiences with leaky tents. I like a 20' x 20' tarp, that's enough to create a large, mud-free area. Plenty of room for food, gear, equipment, my wife, and me to lounge around the fire, warm, dry and comfortable. Indoor - outdoor carpet makes a great ground cover, you can hose it down when you get home and it's good as new, ready for the next trip. We love camping and have learned how to create a very comfortable environment for very little money.

Luke, I lived in Japan. My Dad was Navy, and he was station on Yokosuka. Until we got base housing, we rented a house from Papa San. The house was directly across Sagami Bay from Mt. Fuji. We had a picture window that was perfectly aligned with a view of Mt. Fuji. It was like a living painting of Mt. Fuji projected into our living room. We were fortunate to see a couple of season changes. Keep in mind, while the technical aspects of climbing Mt. Fuji is easy, the elevation is above 12,000 ft. and if you are not conditioned to the altitude, you could get into trouble. There were many stories about unprepared climbers that only made it part of the way, before turning around or needing medical assistance. It is a mountain sacred to the Japanese, so it is well worth climbing. Also, if one or both of you have to stop, there is a bus that can take you to the top, where there is a nice restaurant. Japan is beautiful, especially out of the main cities. If want more rural and traditional Japan, limit you time in the big cities. Tokyo is mind boggling and ultra modern, so it is worth to be seen once, but the outlying villages and temples are amazing. The Japanese appreciate respect and they will reciprocate your gestures. Many, mostly the younger population speak good English, but is you want that little bit of extra touch, learn a few phrases. 1. Konnichiwa: Hello, but also Good Afternoon, is one of the most common greetings, and you hear it everywhere, it also means Good Afternoon. When given or received, make a slight bow toward the intended target. 2. Hajimemashite: How do you do or pleased to see you. 3. ohayoo gozaimasu: Good morning 4. Konbanwa: good Evening. 5. Oyasumi Nasai: Good Night. 6. Common phrases when greeting, that if you get it slightly wrong will be understood. “Ohayō gozaimasu” (Good morning), “Konnichiwa” ('Hello' or 'Good day'). 7. When you enter a store, small restaurant, or bar, you will be greeted with “Irasshaimase” in a loud enthusiastic voice. Or welcome, come in. There is no need to respond, but a slight bow is considered polite. Once you have shown respect by saying a few common words, you can now ask if they speak English. Also helpful, and in fact invented in Japan, are personal translators. You determine the languages to be spoken, and for example, speak into the device in English, and it repeats in Japanese. They in turn can speak Japanese and it comes out English. Very useful and can be found in any electronic store. By the way … I’ll save you the embarrassment. There is no tipping in Japan. None. Nada. It insults them to give a tip, with the very small exemption of eating in the very exclusive an expensive restaurants. If in doubt, ask the Maître d'. There is so much more I could tell you, but not enough space to do so here. If you go, enjoy as much Japanese life that you can, and please leave any preconceptions at home. Do me a personal favor, and if you ride any trains in the crowded cities, let me know if you know what a oshiya is. They serve a very necessary purpose. Larry from Texas

Don't know if you're going to see this comment Luke, but that band in the bottom of your foot that has the tears in it, is the planterfasha. If you take a tennis ball and just roll You're foot over it putting good downward pressure to stretch that band it will help the healing process. My wife is a runner and deals with this on a regular basis from running on hard ground. You can do it with a frozen water bottle as well which will also help.

@killintime years ago I was told to while sitting down roll a coke btle back and forth with your foot on it. That was when btles were glass. Guess you could fill a plastic one partly full of water and freeze it,then roll your foot back and forth on it. The cold would help ease pain maybe.

According to the CDC, if you have a mild case of Covid, then you are contagious for 10 days past the initial date of symptoms. If you are severely infected or critically ill from Covid you are infectious for 20 days past the initial date of symptoms. So in order to curb the spread, isolate for 5 full days and continue to wear a mask for at least 10-20 days from initial date of symptoms. I hope this clarify's for everyone. Love your videos!

Anyway, I'm excited for you to go to Mt. Fugi in Japan. My father was stationed there in the early 50's. He flew in the Navy off Aircraft Carrier. He has pictures of the Mountain through his gunnary Scope On his plane. The pictures of parades and flowers. The ladies wore such gorgeous dresses in the slides he took. It was one of the most beautiful and enjoyable places he ever visited, along with Okanowa. Go fill that Bucket up with a trip of a lifetime and find that missing piece of puzzle, with that trip.😊

Hi Luke. Love your channel (and Tony’s too)! I have tears in my plantar fascia and have been dealing with my latest one since December. I have found wearing Crocs, although not a hiking friendly shoe, helps a lot with my ability to walk with less pain.

There is a way to avoid the tangled cordage. Stand by the tent, coil the line pulling the far end to you. Secure the coil by wrapping it and pulling a loop of the part going to the tent through the coil and flipping the loop over the coil. It would take about 30 seconds to show. Much easier to do than explain, it does work. Good luck.😊

I have climbed all over Japan--Fuji is one of the funnest climbs you will ever do. Wall-to-wall people, 6 humans abreast, climbing while singing and laughing through the night. Bivy at/near the summit, see the sunrise. A must do. Normally I climb to stay away from people, but this one is to be done as a big family of mountain lovers. Wear geta sandals, Fuji hiking staff and straw hat to be "cool." Follow on your trip then to the Kumano Kodo (world heritage site trail) in Nara--blow your socks off.

It always amazing, especially me, that companies employ designers of outdoor equipment that obviously don't travel or camp outdoors , so many products are flawed including this tent , nice review and video Luke

Thx for another great video Luke. Thanks for the warning on that POS tent, lol. I’ll be avoiding that one. Looks like a P.I.T.A. I watch Tony’s channel all the time , RIP Bruce. I’ve lost many dogs myself over the years and felt his pain as well. Never gets any easier to lose em. ❤️🤘😎

I've added cinnamon to my coffee for years! I love it! I also add Indian spices to my coffee often! Beneficial to the gut and creates a 'savory' coffee. 😊

Another epic video Luke Love these storm videos may you always be safe . That tent is huge not good though that it leaks , Id not want to have to spend more money to buy a tarp as well. for it No air flow ya that suck's. dairy free cheese sounds interesting going to have to look for it thanks for the mention. How exciting it would be for Susie and you to venture over to Japan it is a beautiful country lots to see and do. people are friendly and accommodating. Awesome adventure out with you again at Loan Wolf Mountain Get well with that foot .

Hi. I'm disabled with a bad back. For years I didn't know if a hammock would work for me. But after watching one of your videos on hammocks. I decided to bite the bullet and get one. wow, its a life-changer for me. Thanks for your advice

Luke, thanks for the advice! I AM gonna go with the Jakaari L as opposed to something that might be more than I actually need on a regular basis(ie: the ILBE)! Much appreciated as always! Bill Doyle in Hewitt, NJ

That drone sequence going up into the clouds is the coolest thing I've seen in awhile. Well done, TOGR. Thanks for review on this useless tent. I've got a Springbar Family Camper 7 because I don't backpack any more, and since most of the tents reviewed here seem to be camping rather than backpacking tents, I recommend the Springbar brand for camping. Cheers.

Hi Luke, love the content I never miss an episode, my wife though is annoyed when you stay it is “super “ this or “super that” ( we are English of course) but if that is the only gripe, fantastic. My father grew up in St Luis Obispo, so I feel a connection. I have been to the US many years ago in transit to Central America. Right now you are living my dream of experiencing the massive US wilderness. Just wanted to say thanks and cheers my friend, cheers.

So I guess I have discovered your name. Luke ~~ I love your love of the outdoors. I seriously would never go out on my own and camp. Don’t know how to deal with pushy critters. It’s not that I am afraid ~~ it’s more after I had a stroke on my horses back and going over her head. We were just starting them the class. In the hospital for over 4 months and learning how to walk, eat, drink and talk again. I’m just not sure of certain things. It was all just crazy. I stayed in my house for 6 years. I hadn’t drove in 6 years. But the other day I said no more and drove to see my Moma in assisted living. Don’t laugh it was a 10 min drive. Dang it took forever to get back in a vehicle. Not that you really wanted to hear all that ~~ I still felt it was okay. I love your videos. They are awesome. I love that you talk to us. It means so much.

So OneTigris wants you to buy a tent with no floor that needs a tarp over it to protect from weather. This thing is a BBQ shelter at best and a mildly pricey one at that. Love your dedication to the cause Luke thanks for your work. Even if most of these tents are not easily available in Australia the advice and info is very handy. Big thunbs up.

So for the coffee.... add mocha or preferrably a dark chocolate with the cinnamon. It is the best! Love the videos! You, Tony, Jay, and Jon (Lost Lakes) are my outdoor guys.... Thanks for the great content and being drama free.
