He’s a smart guy who pretends to act dumb in a smart way. It’s sarcasm. When he says a bluntly ignorant statement, most of the time he’s joking. The race comment he said was 100% a joke. It’s so clearly about disability but he pretends to miss it and focus on race. In a way he’s commentating on the American mindset to fixate on race in nearly every situation. He knows it’s about disability, and saw an opportunity to make a shrewd joke. Remember, his mom is a lawyer who went to Duke. He comes from a dysfunctional but highly intelligent family, and uses that background as the basis for his comedy.

I watched the doc last night and re: the self pleasure, the mom’s concern didn’t seem to be the act itself, more that it was chronic and he had no concept of boundaries. Potentially as if he was doing it so much that it was causing him physical harm. He couldn’t do it traditionally due to his lack of control of his hands, so he was likely rubbing and grinding on all kinds of things to the point that he was maybe causing wounding of some kind, which could be dangerous because he is in diapers. You’ll see this kind of behavior in some disabled folks with food as well, where they have no concept of food being harmful when over consumed, but they enjoy the pleasure of eating yummy things. It can lead to serious weight and health issues. I had a cousin who was severely mentally challenged and she only ate bacon and listened to Christmas music. Who wouldn’t want to just eat bacon? But on top of her other conditions, she weighed about 400lbs and it became difficult for her elderly parents to care for her.

Anna definitely came across as narcissistic. But I wish they had done more facilitated communication testing after the romantic relationship was revealed. Like, why didn't they do the blind testing with them like they had done with other disabled people? Or tested more extensively with other people, other than Anna? There were some things that were inconsistent. Like, what about him typing up information on books that Anna supposedly hadn't even read? Not defending anyone, just asking some questions that weren't answered in the doc. Also, so glad I stopped watching this like a minute in and watched the doc before watching the rest of this video, because they left nothing up to the imagination, lol. You mean black people aren't all a monolith of African American stereotypes? I for one am shocked.

This story became famous recently, the professor believed she'd developed a way for disabled people to communicate. It was a hoax. She then said she used this method to allow the disabled black guy to tell her he wanted to sleep with her, they slept together a few times. She got arrested.
@popperpoppler45697 ай бұрын
Actually she used a method already developed. By the time she used it had already been debunked so it had been around for a while lol

Imagine being the normal guy who asked her out and got rejected. Then you find out she’s raping a black retard.

Thank you Theo and Louis. My previous school had a student who was supported by a specialist who used that technology. She was barred from practice in Australia, mainly for providing false hope to families with children diagnosed with non-verbal autism. I will have to set aside some time to watch the documentary described. Quality standards in disability support is becoming a major topic of conversation in Australia, i.e. "equity vs equality, or best/ideal vs good enough".

How? Annie taught Helen a version of sign language and Braille which could be generalized across people and settings, Anna used a discredited pseudoscience with Derrick.

No. She's a predator. We need to stop pretending the perpetrators are ill. Narcissism is not a mental illness. She belongs in prison.

Amazing doc! This is the real harm of leftist racism through the prism of academic narcissism. No spoilers, but she and her supporters are the villains imo. God bless D-Man's (not DaMan like Ana kept mispronouncing, which was my first indication of bs) mother and brother. They are the best advocates for him and have been all his life.
