Hi Dylane :) Thank you so much for the videos! One question: In the video, you say that "acheter qqch à qqn" means both "to buy sth FROM and FOR somebody". So, "J'ai acheté un velo à mon oncle" could both mean that I bought a bicycle from my uncle and for my uncle? Or am I mistaken?
@Jakklopp9014 ай бұрын
Also, in the example at 9:17 where it says in the English translation "The tourist is asking his way to a police officer", is the tourist asking someone how to get to a police officer? Or should it perhaps be that the tourist is asking a police officer how to get somewhere else?

Hi Dylane. I have your book and I'm on Ex 2.2 of prepositions. I am really confused. In the video you said the preposition does not belong to the second verb or the noun. It always belongs to the verb before. In Ex. 2.2 Elle a acheté un collier à sa mère. In the answer sheet it seems that the preposition is belonging to the second verb. What am I missing? Hopefully I explained this properly. Merci!

Both are fine actually, the difference is very subtle. Without the preposition indicates something that you already tried before. With preposition, something that you are trying for the first time.
