I accidentally found some of your videos last year on Facebook. I struggle with depression and anxiety. Mostly anxiety. This video lifted weight off my shoulders just hearing other people going through similar things that I’m going through and your advice I will definitely be using. I’ve been having a hard time lately following through on things because of my anxiety. I love this video. It is a big help.

thank you for this. I've been wanting to throw up from anxiety and stayed up last night due to it, and those anxieties carried over to today. Your video is what helped me finally start to calm down the wretching pit in my stomach and my throat feeling like I want to throw up and not have a crying breakdown. You mentioned that this KZbin channel was a risk but I'm really grateful you took that risk and know you've really helped me from this video.

I’m really glad that you post these types of videos! As an inspiring clinician this video gives me a practical template for how to actually apply structure to a clinical interview (even tho this is a casual type chat and shouldn’t get confused for clinical guidance :P). Thanks for keeping it real Dr Ali 🤩🤩🤩

I have the worst Anxiety about the future ,I struggle worrying about dying alone ,and not being able to afford my medication to keep me alive,to even not being able to support my self financially because Iam agoraphobic. Iam afraid of not feeling Safe and secure or not being able to be healthy enough to take care of my self or my mother, and I worry about not being able to support my mother when my grandpa dies. I also cannot sleep naturally without highly over medicating with sleeping pills and I have been like this since I was 4 years old.I want to be able to control everything and when I can't then I cannot function like a person without mental health issues. I also go through seasonal depression. Iam in Canada and we don't get enough sunlight or good weather and it effects my mood.

Every second of this was so relatable for me! I share those same sentiments of wanting to excel at what I do, be recognized for that, and also be there to help people trying to do the same. When I’m feeling anxious I also TOTALLY dive into getting more information, and now I know maybe I shouldn’t always do that.

This sounds so similar. im that type of person who wants to control every moments. In my back is couple of bad traumas , they are changing still my actions. And im very maybe oversensitive person in real life but my role is to be strong self-concess person . I have learned to ask help and thinking that i dont have to know everything or have to control everything. that had helped me.

Hi Ali. I don't usually comment, but this video and the social anxiety one really hit home for me. It was as if the interviewees were voicing all my thoughts to a tee. I've struggled a lot as a 21 year old changing career paths completely after already getting on the on ramp to a financially solid future, and trying to develop meaningful relationships. I essentially know what I need to do but often find it almost impossible to take the leap. It's like standing on the edge of a pool for an hour because I'm afraid of how painfully cold it will be when I jump in. Small steps into uncertainty and increasing tolerance makes a lot of sense. Personally, I think perfectionism and fear of failure/rejection are my biggest challenges to overcome. BTW, you seem almost like a therapist version of the 'Professor' in the hit Netflix series 'Money Heist'. Thanks!!!

Allergies? * laughs in Benadryl * How fast can you type? 🙃 I love researching pretty much anything so doing research for major life decisions is nothing out of the ordinary for me. But I also know when to stop and just make the decision. I know when I made the decision I was as informed as I could have been so it was the best I could have done at that point in time. My life has been filled with uncertainty for over a year so it's basically just survival mode now. Some matters are entirely out of my control so I'm just doing my best.
