When your child is first diagnosed with Autism or a developmental delay all the recommended therapies can be overwhelming. In this video I share some of my experiences of different therapies that are usually recommended such as - Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Music therapy and some others that the boys have done. I also give advice on how to approach therapy and how to make the most of it.

Thanks! Jumping into the world of therapies for your autistic child can be very overwhelming, so I want to help others find it a little less daunting!

It really depends on what your child needs are. When the boys were younger they were doing speech, OT and Aquatic OT once a week, or sometimes once a fortnight. It also depends on how they are engaging with the therapist and coping with going to sessions on top of school. It’s a balancing act between between early intervention and how much are they actually getting out of the sessions. Thats why its great to get support workers or therapy assistants involved so it can be incorporated with their home routines. Hope that answers your question!
