This is exactly the problem I had a couple weeks ago. Updated rx firmware and couldn't get it to bind. Took me half the day to figure it out. Great video 👍

Just in time as my Radiomaster finally arrived! I was using Taranis OpenTX once a while before, it's not mine but at least I've experienced the firmware. I really appreciated for your helpful videos that help me decided my next radio, thanks :)

Good video, glad you put it out, i finally got my radiomaster tx16s today and haven’t done the update as yet, because of being too busy. I might wait until the update that enables the touchscreen before I do update, and even then I’ll wait a few weeks to make sure that there isn’t any problems with the newer firmware, just in case.

Lee - you are a star. You might have seen my various comments earlier today but this video has now solved my issues. Basically I have a number of X8R's and since updating a fairly old version of OpenTx to the latest version a week ago, I haven't been able to communicate with any of my Rx's. Since flashing the firmware for the inner module, that has now all changed and I now have all Rx's bound to the Taranis. Thank you.

Many thanks. Just got my Radiomaster TX16S, coming back to RC after about 40 years. Your channel is a great help. Plenty of good info and no hype. I was wondering if thinking of the 'two firmwares' might be a bit like the difference between an operating system upgrade and a BIOS upgrade on a PC? One deals with how the user interacts with the device and the other how the internal processor interacts with the radio transmitter hardware.

Excellent Video! Answered a bunch of questions i had. I have a first gen Taranis X9D with Ver 1.0 boot loader still installed. I dropped out of the hobby for about 5 years and was wondering what I should do about updating my radio. I have a bunch of receivers that aren't compatible with any of the Taranis firmware versions. I was leaning toward getting a multi-protocol module and not using the internal module at all but had no idea what to do about the ver 1.0 bootloader. From what I just learned it seems I don't need to do anything about it just get a MP Module and use it.

Hi sir. Do you have video showing how to bind Frsky V8Fr receiver to Radiomaster TX12 Mk2 ELRS? Been trying to bind using internal RF, still not working as of 20jan2023...
@Painless3602 жыл бұрын
An ELRS radio will only bind to ELRS receivers. To bind to other things you'd need a module in the back that can talk to other receiver types. A common choice is the Multiprotocol module but you need to check is that receiver you want to use is one supported by it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/epeuqqtmrrmVjrc covers how to check.

@@Painless360 Thank you very much for the explanation. I have 4 pieces of Frsky receiver that I do not want to waste. Time for me to "change" to new receiver technology.

Hello. I update my old Teranis X9D to EdgeTX 2.92 and now I only have XJT in the internal module with D16 protocol. Is it possible to upgrade it to 4 in 1 multi?
@Painless360 Жыл бұрын
Not sure, I've not upgraded my Taranis here. You should get an option for MULTI if you look at the external RF options.. Best of luck.
@loc47254 жыл бұрын
So there's the bootloader, radio OS, internal radio module and if installed, external module firmware.

You can also think of it like a PC: (OS Windows/Linux/etc) = OpenTX, Bios/addon cards = hardware flash-able modules.

Hey do you have a link to the original v1.x iXJT firmware for X10s ACCST? I do not see it on the frsky website, only the new 2.1 version. I was going to flash v2.1 for a quick test, but just in case wanted to have the original to flash back. Thx!

Is there a simple way to use the long range R9M module with ACCESS protocol with a Radiomaster TX16S besides hw mod (github.com/cvetaevvitaliy/Radiomaster_TX16S) ? because you don't have the Register button. I flashed older firmware with ACCST to both R9M and R9MM and is ok, but maybe for the future would like to have ACCCESS. thanks
@MrSabram074 жыл бұрын
Why play around or update any of that stuff? I'm a newbie and I feel like start playing with that and it's going to be nothing but trouble, what am I gaining by updating or anything
@gautamkrishna74214 жыл бұрын
Depends on the radio.... If you've got the tx16s then you should absolutely update to 2.4 when it comes out for touchscreen. You may also prefer to wait until each major update before updating if you don't have any bugs. Anyway updating is really really straightforward but you can always create backups of your models and firmware. Also, if you want to use stuff like multiprotocol modules, r9m, or Lua you will need to flash your radio with these options.

If it works don't mess with it, my x10 is running whatever firmwares it came loaded with, it has worked fine so I'm not touching anything
@Painless3604 жыл бұрын
While I am normally in the 'if it works, don't mess about with it' camp. Some of the latest radios are shipping with 'versions' of OpenTX and flashing with the supported version can fix issues with things like LUA scripts not working.. Best of luck!

Thx! I learned again from you. I have a Horus x10s currently running ACCST. My buddy is using ACCESS and he is dropping packets. Still no solution for his issue right now. He is working with a Frsky engineer to solve his issue. I wonder if it’s his tx/Rx module firmware?
