How is 4 good for all means? I was hyped for it when I first got to the cinema, but the movie configuration was 💩. The movie however was a classy one. That still doesn’t rank my opinion any high than a low B tier. It was good for the first 3-4 minutes. Eventually fell off. Movie doesnt stand out well as compared to Kung Fu panda 4 I know people have their opinions, but Rise of Gru wasn’t all terrible. It was a sequel of a prequel, but the second did better. Young Gru is a symbol for a good movie, or atleast felonious Gru

I kinda wish the conflict had Dru be more of bad influence on Gru's kids instead of just splitting the group up for these side-plot. I feel like that would've given more stakes to Gru's inner conflict of staying good or being evil again.

I mean… I was pretty hyped at the time when Gru turned out to have a twin brother. Dru himself was kinda ehhh…. I don’t know I originally thought he was gonna be a twist secondary antagonist or something. It probably could’ve worked but idk. (He looks like Prince Charming from Shrek lmao) Bratt’s pretty cool. I liked his aesthetic I also kinda liked Lucy’s arc of being a good mom which was something i wanted to see since the first time I saw DM2 Thought the ending was also a lil satisfying with Dru taking Gru’s place as the villain of the family. Gotta keep the tradition alive. But yeah I think they kinda did a bit much with all the subplots

For example, the boys want to buy exotic weaponry, but they are told that they aren't old enough to do so, therefore they make up a story about their parents dying in order to guilt trip the dealer into giving them the weapons. Another instance from the same episode: the boys play with the weapons in an anime like sequence, but then Butters gets hit in the eye with a shuriken from Kenny, therefore the boys try to hide butters in order to not get in trouble for playing with dangerous weapons.

The animation itself is ok. But the problem is the excessive use of motion blur. Every time a character moves motion blur is used, which is why it looks weirdly smooth. It was obvious in Sing too, and it seems to be a style Illumination has taken on, because you notice it in the 4th movie too.
