I stopped Dota 4 years ago. But I still watch the International to this day. Will forever remain the best game in my heart.

Me too. 8 was never a fan of League of Legends despite how accessible it is, I gravitated back to DOTA because of it's intricacies and hype AF moments. LoL matches don't connect with me but DOTA ones do. And seeing just how far now the SEA region has flourished on DOTA instead of League, I feel more disillusioned about League's casual appeal. To hell with League of Legends, long live the true King MOBAs.

There is a reason why dota will always be the greatest game to be ever made. It was never made to monetize or gain money. The developers just poured there heart and soul in the game for the love of the game and nothing else. It was so ahead of its time as it created a community that provide feedback to the developers in order to orchestrate the balance game that you would never get sick of because of the unlimited combinations possible. Personally, I have made all of my real life friends playing dota in internet cafes in jordan. That place was the birthplace of so many amazing players and teams such as Yapzor, Mage and most notably Miracle-. I rarely play dota as I as so much older now that back in 2008, but I just want to say thank you to everyone that made this game possible. You have truly changed my life and the lives of many others. Thank You.

DotA is the most important game in the world for me. It has saved my life. I was deeply depressed, I was suicidal, had no ambitions. One day I started to play DotA, and everything changed. I don't care anymore if DotA dies, I will be playing it every day until then, and then a few days after that. DotA is the reason I have a job, a girlfriend, friends. It's the reason I am still alive.

Well its the first game i played on computer when i was 6. My grandma have a computer shop and when the summer vacation comes (kinder 2) i go to my lola house to stay in there. My titos (uncle) teach me how to play dota. Even in single player(frozen throne) teach me cheats and spelling of cheat that i almost cried because i got yelled when i type the spelling wrong. And when i was in elementary my classmate contest with me every morning to a spelling contest of every items on dota 2 and heroea name like Yaphets(nevermore) raigor hoofstomp (earthshaker) with blanks _ ss_d_. And we think whats good skill to get in dota imba or what first good item on bleach vs one pieces.

Now I'm playing it whenever I'm too stressed out with my work so I can have a little fun. Even though sometimes I ended up more stressed out and frustrated. But it doesn't matter. I had fun and sometimes Dota took me back when I was having fun playing it with my friends at internet cafe or play non stop in my college dorm room when Dota 2 just came out. Ah the feels... @-FermatsletzterSatz- 5 жыл бұрын
@VI There is no denying in that. But I don't see a fault in that. Dota never tried to be for the masses, it is for the dedicated, the ones that like to challenge themselves. It requires you to dive into it and rewards you with a fascination and beauty that no other online game could offer for now. Getting into the game is work, it is not fun and near impossible for casuals. But I love the complexity, the challenge, the tactic and the fact that I lesen new things in every game even after 1000 hours.

DOTA is the hardest competitive game there is, from the draft, individual skills and mind games before and after each match. A game where you have the possibility of fighting 1v9 because everyone thinks you are the worst player. A game where you have been ridiculed and demoralized more than you'll ever hear in real life. A game that even after years of playing you are still in the "tutorial" phase just because of how complex and hard the game is. Our game is the hardest, our game is toxic, our spirits can be destroyed after a game, but we NEVER STOPPED playing and continue accepting the challenge DOTA brings. Because after shouting at your teammates for a misplay, you can still say Good game, well played to each other for not giving up to win what others might think an unwinnable game. Remember there is no surrender button in DOTA 2.

Less marketing bs than LoL, more REAL choices for players. Workshop, custom modes... Meantime LoL players wet their pants when RIOT mercifully let them play bonus mode for 3 days xD I just go to "Arcade" section and can choose from dozen of bonus modes all day every day. Nothing really groundbreaking happened - it was pure domination by the most polished team at that time, wich was beautiful to look at and ofc. Kuros story is nice but it's not as important to the overall story of Dota. In TI8 the most unlikely team won - the team that would have struggled the most to find a sponsor in any other e-sport won. The team that picked out of the meta in game 5 of a best of 5 (wich would never happen in League) won. The team with one of the communities absolute favourite players won. Seing notail cry with happiness while hugging his mom on stage was one of the most beautiful and hearwarming things i have seen in all of 2018. And it shows that Dota is about passion and comminuty more than any other e-sport. And thats why we love it.

Watching this makes me cry. Idk tears of joy, tears of sadness, tears of memory, idk man. I was a nerd before, never played games since my parents are strict. Then comes dota and I started playing since 6.66c map. I got addicted. This video brings so much memories. The countless of sleepless night, the money spent on cybercafe just to play with friends, the spirit and excitement we got when we won local LAN tournament, the countless blog I read for hero guides, how mechanics work, etc. This game will always in my heart.

Also Reborn update is not 7.00. Reborn was long before 7.00. Who is responsible for this? Your next 100 games will be full of techies.

I play League as well and I do enjoy it but I don't really find it engaging that much tbh, it's more like a casual MOBA with little cooperation what so ever. In DOTA 2, you have so many options to pick and it requires alot of strategies and patience Also League is only popular or "better" because of it's playerbase.......that's not how you justify League as a good game, it's just embarrassing the fanbase itself I'm talking to you @number_ 13

@@silver_stone6510 the only reason why dota is dying because the lack of new blood and all the gamers prefer games with simplicity and funny atmostphere which dota has none of them. I played dota for 3 years and i still suck at the game because it requires a lot of practice and knowledge which i no longer have time for that, people prefer games which are quicker and fun. Second, dota is more individualistic and skill dependant, it requires less team work for every move you make and yoy have buy back if you made a mistake. In league, if one of your teamate fucked up, you lost the game so you have to babysit each other all the time

@@PKMNTrainerVic I dont think melee is comparable. Not because it's in another league or something, but because of the innate difference between the games. Also it's way more niche than ARTS are all around. I think, theScore has showed many times now that Smash is insanely entertaining, but I doubt it will have the same cultural impact that DotA/the ARTS genre all around has. Also, Tobiwan and ODPixel are the best hype casters hands down
